FRI-YAY! We’re open from 12pm. Come and check out our burger van 🍔 We will be serving delicious beef, chicken and halloumi burgers with fries from today through to Wednesday 30th May, 12-9pm. This afternoon we will be lighting up the BBQ for burgers and drinks on the canalside terrace and this will continue all weekend. Went yesterday and had fab food and service. Chicken and leak pie was to die for!

We had lunch and nearly stayed long enough to have dinner, it was a really great atmosphere. The service and food was first class. We will definitely be back

Had my Birthday Breakfast here! Food was amazing! Their breakfast is now rated one of my top 10. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were all lovely, absolutely impeccable service. Made the day super special. Thank you, and i will most definitely be returning.

Excellent food,the Goods Yard Martini is fabulous! Milda our server,was delightful. On a rainy,cold gloomy day, we had a fantastic lunch!

Stopped off en route to a night out. Had a few very nice drinks in the bar downstairs with the doors wide open on a warm night overlooking the canal. Really good vibe. Will be back - maybe even to eat there next time.

I went for my birthday for drinks and sharing platters after my main party. On my way home in the evening. Tried to book an area for 15 people earlier,they said they don’t take bookings over 12 (why would they turn business away ... Anyway) I ordered a sharing platter, a selection of starters and chips for us to share. Food was really average and Very expensive for what it was. Staff were quite abrupt too and not very friendly. I wouldn’t go back.

Great venue, terrible food. Total rip off. The cheese and ham sharing platter had no cheese on it. The chef here needs to go.

A lovely venue with beautiful views but the food is such a let down! I went to the lighterman for my birthday with 11 friends, 2 people had the risotto which was undercooked and very crunch, another friend ordered a burger which he had to send back twice! Once for being burnt and the second for being raw. We had two vegans in the party, what a shame there wasn’t one dish on the menu that was vegan friendly. The bill came to £300 mainly food as people had ordered there drinks at the bar due to service being slow. All in all a massive disappointment. Wouldn’t go back for food but cocktails were lovely!

The manager was the rudest person I have ever encountered in the service industry. In the ladies I overheard ours wasn’t the only birthday he’d ruined - he’d refused to let another party eat their birthday cake, after the lovely servers had brought plates and a knife! I was absolutely stunned by the way he spoke to us and will never set foot in there again. Beware. Just staggered that he thought that was an appropriate way to speak to people... ��

I would like to share some feedback regarding yesterday's experience at Lighterman.

I have organized a dinner for friends and picked Lighterman as i have been there before on numerous occasions and was happy with the service and the quality of the meals.



However yesterday's event was absolutely ruined by your staff. I appreciate we didn't start straight away but large groups rarely do - and I was shocked to find out two hours was not enough to serve a three couse meal.



The way it was handled in particular was extremely humiliating to me as the waiter didn't approach us for a while, and when he did, he said "you have to all choose whether you want starter and a main or a main and a dessert as you don't have time for a proper meal anymore".



We scrambled to place the orders and ate them in a rush. The waiter than approached me and said- i quote - "you ate too slowly" and "the manager told me not to serve you pudding" - that was 31 minutes before our time was up. After further humiliating myself we were "granted" the right to order pre-made desserts and hot drinks. The waiter then pretty much started kicking us out at 7:52pm.



It was such a terrible experience I wonder how you guys operate. You clearly run a process / throughput business and the focus should not be on harrassing your guests to shove the food into their throats. I was so upset I don't think i will ever be able to recommend @lighterman to my friends. Truly disappointed.
