This year there is twice as much in the pot with a total sum of £300k available. We have also increased the maximum grant size from £5k to £10k and increased the funding duration from 1 to 2 years.
... Deadline for this round of applications is 10th October 2018, with decisions being announced by 21st Dec 2018. There will also be a second round opening in the new year, date tbc.

Do you want to take part in an exciting arts project and have your say about race relations in the UK? Peabody and the House of Commons ore working with artist Scarlett Crowford on a special project to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1968 Race Relations... Act. During First Waves, Scarlett will work with community groups across the country, and we ore looking for people from Thomesmeod to join in and tell their stories. A free workshop will toke place on Saturday 1st September at The Information Hub, 216 Yarnton Way, Thamesmead, DA18 4AX. During the workshop Scarlett will encourage participants to shore their experiences of race relations through drawing, participatory photography, and recorded interviews. The artworks will be exhibited at the Peabody in October 2018, and in early 2019 they will go on display in Parliament. The project is designed for communities across the country to come together to share their memories of life in the UK over the past 50 years and to celebrate the people in their communities who have made a difference. Participants will also discuss how this, and later Acts of Parliament, impacted on their lives. In Thamesmead the House of Commons is working with the Peabody Trust to host a free workshop on: Saturday 1st September 2018 at The Information Hub, 216 Yarnton Way, Thamesmead, DA18 4AX. The workshops are open to anyone who would like to work on a project about race equality but are aimed particularly at first generation immigrants and those living in the UK in the 1960s and 70s. Participants will also work together with the artist on an exhibition, which will be displayed in the Information Hub in October 2018 and in the Houses of Parliament in February 2019. These exhibitions will display art works made during the workshops and will be free to attend. On the 22nd, 23rd and 24th August 10am to 2pm at The Link, Thamesmead there will be workshops for young people 13+ to develop their creative writing, poetry and spoken word skills run by BREIS.
BREIS (breeze) is a rap artist, author and founder of Hip Hop arts organisation 'Student of Life'. His workshops will be looking at putting lyrics together and artist performance.
Participants also have the opportunity to perform at 'Sounds of the Streets' on the evening of 24th Augus...t starting at 7pm.
