The Literary Consultancy is the UK's first and leading editorial and manuscript assessment service, working nationally and internationally with writers since 1996.

TLC offers writers at all stages of their professional development straightforward, honest advice. We employ a group of Readers, all of whom are professional writers with many years' experience in the industry, to read and assess the writing we receive from our clients and to offer in-depth advice on how best to proceed in terms of editing, and in terms of publishing their work. We pride ourselves in giving honest feedback that is tailored to the needs and talents of each of our writers, and in preparing them on what to expect in the transitional stages between writing and getting published.

TLC was established in 1996 and is funded by the Arts Council.
