About The Little Viet Kitchen

Vietnamese restaurant and cocktail bar, with a monthly supperclub!

The Little Viet Kitchen Description

LVK is a cosy and friendly restaurant serving authentic Vietnamese food with a modern twist. The bar creates Viet inspired cocktails and beers, with a nod to interesting and handcrafted spirits.

We proudly say that at LVK that we're; sometimes traditional, always authentic.

Head Chef Thuy says:
"I was born in Vietnam, in a small village in the south of the country, called ‘Hanh My’. After the war, life was a considerable struggle for the whole region and so like many others, my family was forced to leave our home and start a new life. We were one of the few, fortunate enough, to be able to start that new life in London. England is an amazing country and London a beautiful city, and having been living here since I was 7, it is without doubt the place that I call home.

For those who know me well, food (OK…and shoes and bags! ! ) has always been a huge passion of mine. A delicious meal, with seconds and maybe thirds, makes a very happy Thuy indeed! My mother often reminds me that my love for food started almost immediately after birth. Never satisfied with just having my own dinner, I was always after my sister’s portions too (by that, she meant…. snatching. . . . Sorry sis! ).

Till this day, I can still vividly recollect my childhood in Vietnam and as far back as I can remember, I have always been surrounded by food. My grandparents were farmers, so I grew up with animals running around, a wonderful variety of fruits hanging from trees, morning markets full of freshly picked vegetables, and amazing smells of traditional street food. I often find the smell of certain foods will take me back in time, back to when we had so little, and yet everything meant so much.

Now, if you will allow me, I would love to share these wonderful foods with you! "

A French Vietnamese supperclub at The Little Viet Kitchen with Raymondblanc would be a dream right?! Hands up if you agree?! 😁 For me, it would just be incredible to play around with these flavours: After all there is so much French influence in Vietnamese cooking and so many of the dishes we all know and love would be unrecognisable without it! Mostly, it would just be crazy amazing to be cooking with your all time idol in your little kitchen! Yikes! 😳 🙈
So proud of myself f...or not fan-girling out on Chef Raymond Blanc today. Surprisingly I somehow managed to keep it cool and have a nice conversation like equals, whilst inside I was screaming like I’m at a Backstreet Boys concert! 😂 What a genuine, warm, passionate, talented and funny person he is. They say don’t meet your idols, but sometimes they turn out to be everything you hoped and more. A true legend!
Not often do I get the opportunity to be cooked for, especially on a work day🙈It may have been cold and windy outside, but it was warm and cosy inside, with perfect rays of sunshine peeking through the windows. Sat in a beautiful restaurant with a buzzing atmosphere that was both friendly and excited, we were looked after brilliantly by the attentive lovely staff. My meal was perfectly balanced and delicious from start to finish, but what else would you expect when the recipes were from the legendary Raymond Blanc... What more could I want?! 🤷‍♀️Thank you for your hospitality Galvin Green Man, Jeff, Chris & Daniel, we shall meet again very soon!

“...The Little Viet Kitchen was founded with the desire to have more people discover the amazing flavours of Vietnamese food, made without cutting corners. I’ve spent the past 6 years trying to push the ‘Vietnamese food’ conversation forward and bring a little piece of the Mekong Delta to my small corner of London. All with the aim of helping the cause of Vietnamese cuisine achieving the respect and regard in the West that it truly deserves...” Chef Owner Thuy Diem Pham

First service back after the Christmas break this evening and... I loved it!! 🙈I don’t know why I was surprised, but it’s always so nice to have a break and yesterday I was wishing that it didn’t have to end so soon. Then the moment I stepped foot back in my kitchen I just felt so happy and ready to go! 👩‍🍳
OK so I may be a little bit of a control freak but it’s a lovely feeling knowing exactly where everything is and exactly what to do. Back in my routine of executing every ...task and recipe as precisely as I can, to ensure I produce every dish with love, care and respect 💕
I am humbled and honoured that my passion and joy can be shared, and I genuinely love serving up my dishes to you! So come visit me! 🏠
Anyways, feeling happy and grateful right now and so I wanted to share this positive vibe! Wishing you all a wonderful 2020, stay inspired and DREAM BIG! Go make it happen!! 🥳

To me, Christmas means spending time with the family! Surrounded by wonderful food, lovingly prepared in Mum’s kitchen, and enjoying precious moments with the little ones because you know that only too soon they’ll be moody teenagers hiding in their room!🙈
When we moved to England back in the 80’s, my father insisted that mealtime traditions should not change. We had to always eat every meal as a family, always at the table, never have distractions of TV and never have takeaw...ays or pre-cooked food. It took me many years before I really understood where he was coming from and I’m so grateful now for those wonderful memories. Stories were told, lessons were learned and laughter always accompanied the wonderful flavours of the dishes.
My sister and I would help Mum prepare every meal, not realising that she was actually teaching us everything she knew about Vietnamese cuisine. Helping us to learn the traditional cooking techniques that we would use for our own families one day. I guess Dad knew that as grown ups, busy lives would mean that we only gather like this for special occasions and so he wanted to have as many of those family meals as possible.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful festive season! Eat loads, laugh more and treasure these precious moments with the ones that you love 💝
Much love always!

My last sunset at the beautiful @shangrilaabudhabi before heading home to London 🏡
Team Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, you will be missed! 🥰
I arrived full of nervous excitement, not knowing what to expect. I knew my mission hadn’t changed though and I was to determined to showcase Vietnamese cuisine to the best of my ability.
... I often struggle to convey my passion fully with words and so expressing it through my dishes is the best way I know. So my mission was clear, but that didn’t stop the nerves... However, from the moment Mummy Pham and I arrived, you welcomed us with open arms, so it was impossible not to feel instantly at home!
Your easy smiles so early in the morning and your laughter even very late at night, made it always a pleasure to bump into you around the resort! Your level of hosting was something we hadn’t experienced before and you will be missed by us both so much! The beautiful flavours of your food kept our bellies very happy, often even squeezing in seconds! Your kindness and attentiveness made us feel warm and loved throughout our stay. I hope one day each and every one of you will visit my home, The Little Viet Kitchen so I can return the gesture.
For now, farewell and we wish you an amazing upcoming season!
Much love 💕, Thuy & Mummy Pham xxx
