What is The Liverpool Musician’s Awards?
It is an annual NON PROFIT FREE event is for the people who matter: the independent / grassroots / unrecognised musicians of Liverpool. Liverpool Musicians Awards is a place for public, peers, promoters, sound teams and venues to nominate who they feel deserves recognition. Our city has a richness of musicians who have worked hard for years but never even get a mention in the media.
If a music awards was measured by smiles, laughing, hugs, dancing and an appreciation for fellow performers within a relaxed down to earth pat on the back style…then in the 2014 we nailed it.
The winners for each category are as follows.
Best acoustic solo male- Thom Morecroft
Best acoustic female- Vanessa Murray
Best acoustic band- Thom Morecroft and the full moon band
Best live band- Mervin Gersh
Best video- Choc Electrique
Best song- Neildsy “Echo Echo”
Best album- Thom Morecroft “Moon Moon Shake it”
Best metal band- Oceanis
Best alternative band- Choc Electrique
Best busker- Bolshy
Best new act- Doodah Farm
Best classical musician- Stephanie E Kearley
Thank you to all the bands who performed, Tony Butler for allowing us to use the Zanzibar, Pat sound engineer, bar staff, door staff… all who nominated /voted /shared the event on social networks and all who attended…. See you in 2015.

'Moon Moon Shake It' is currently available on iTunes. It recently won the 2014 The Liverpool Musicians' Awards 'Best Album' category and features the songs 'Daisy', 'Holly' and 'The Beast'.
It's been described by author and ex-editor of NME, Q, Mojo and Word magazines Paul Du Noyer as "full of outstanding songs", by Alan O' Hare at Liverpool Acoustic as "painstakingly crafted" and Ian D. Hall at Liverpool Sound and Vision as "an album that even the great Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac fame [would have been] proud to have recorded".
