Was camping just down the road from 'The Lobster Pot'. It was hot and sunny, we called in for a drink and ended up staying for a meal; the service was simply excellent the food menu was mind blowing, so much choice. Quality Lager with brilliant food, great caring customer; great restaurant and pub. Brilliant sure to visit again....

Tonight 20/07/18 was our first time in the Lobster Pot for a meal and I’ve got to say from the service to the food was exceptional. I had a rump steak medium and it was cooked to perfection and my husband had gammon which was served with pineapple, fried egg, chips and peas (just how he likes it, he hates salad). The prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back again soon.

Now the new managers have just taken it over I wanted to try the food, drink and hospitality. I must admit to being slightly biased but as a chef taking in a party of 15 on a busy Sunday I was not disappointed. The food was lovely with generous portions and the staff were attentive and even my fussy daughter was delighted. Not a single detail was missing or incorrect, as is often the case with a large party. We will be back very soon.

After a disappointing stay for a two night visit for a family wedding was rectified and couldn’t have wished for a better service offered a two night stay for free and this time round was absolutely beautiful, room was absolutely gleaming all amenities spot on and to top it off fantastic staff. Will definitely be back x thank you so much �

Came for an evening meal for our last night on holiday- lovely place, good variety of food which was delicious. Fast service, attentive staff and lovely atmosphere. Could definitely come again if ever got the opportunity.

Took my family here last night,had to wait over an hour and half for food which when it finally arrived was very poor.Totally understaffed for a place this size and this busy on a Friday night.Wont Knock the staff that were working as it wasn’t their fault,and they were very polite,owners need to get a grip.Manager did give us 20% off so at least they recognised what was wrong.

currently sat in the Restraunt as I write this review, came in with a party of 5 of us. We came in, was seated by one of the waitresses, 20 minutes later another waitress came over to take our drinks order, between 15-20 minutes after that the drinks arrived. 10/15 minutes later the waitress came over to take the food order, we then waited 45/50 minutes for the food too arrive, 3 meals came, including my own, the sweet potato fries was cold so I kindly asked for her to replace them, in which I got a dirty look from the waitress. My boyfriends “mixed grill” came and the meat and the side of fries was also cold. Everybody on the tables side orders was flat cold! We then complained and asked her to take the Grill off the bill and the customer service skills were shocking in return, so rude and arrogant! A man who I believe was the bar tender then came over and was also extremely rude! They walked away and they continued to look over & was giggling to eachother. Extremely unhappy as we enjoyed it last time we came. Won’t be returning in a hurry.

When we ordered at the bar, my friend and I paid for our meals seperately and told the manager (who didnt make eye contact or smile once ) we were eating together. We were informed there would be a 40 min wait for food which was fine as it was a sunny day. After 40 mins my friend and her husband's meals turned up. After another 10 mins ours still had not. When I went to see where our meals were, I was told by a very rude lady that as we ordered seperately that was just how it goes. She checked in the kitchen and then informed me there was a five min difference in our ordering times! This was not possible as we ordered together.

She then came to our table to apologise as she had checked the kitchen again and it was put through as a multi order and should have been served at the same time and offered a round of drinks. We ordered 5 drinks and they couldn't even get that right as only 4 turned up!

After just over an hour our food was served by yet another waiter who didn't smile once.

Food was lovely however the staff seemed very unhappy to be at work and were quite rude.

We went tonight as a family of 6 adults 4 children ordered food same table and was told it was a 45 minute wait. Within 5 minutes 2 meals came then had to wait a further 45 minutes for the other orders. Then when the children's meals arrived they had 2 wait for the plates to cool down as you couldn't touch them as they were red hot. The woman on the next table got a full refund as her steak was all fat no meat. Will deffinatly not be going back

Waited ages for main meal and when it came it was only warm the Yorkshire pudding was cold I asked for apple sauce which said came with pork waited ages for it , to be fair it was busy , but so much nicer the first time I went there was some empty tables but they sat us next to the kids play area bearing in mind we had no children with us, and would of rather been some were a bit less noisy

Tables 'tacky' dont think they had been cleaned

No cutlery provided.

Food arrived at different times.

Why not provide fruit snack for children to keep the going?

Had to ask for cutlery!!!@

Then had to ask for butter for the bread.!!!!

No one came to ask if everything was ok.

Eventuallly managed to ask staff for drinks.

Then totally forgotten about. Had to ask where drinks were.

We are local. Very disappointing service and customer care. Won't rush back. Fear that poor holiday tourists will be ripped off and expected to accept poor service.



This used to be a traditional, well run pub .... what's happened?

Stayed overnight at the hotel,over easter and was given a room with two main lights not working and was told to use the mirror or bedside lamps for the room,the reason being that it was the only room left(even though we'd booked two months previous)...had a nice time in nearby brid through the day , on returning to the pub for an evening drink,meal or snack we were informed that the kitchen finished at 8pm,because it was broken and under repair....long story short it was obvious that the pub chain operated on a shoestring budget and had cut back on staff such as receptionist,chefs,waiters and maintenance staff....sad realy because it's in a prime location

Really poor service. Waited almost an hour for our food then when I asked how long it was going to be , waitress was surly with no apology. Food came and dried up tasteless and almost cold. Won’t be going back.

No clue who our waiter/waitress was supposed to be as over the course of the 2 and a half hours we were there we saw no less than 5 different people. The spaces between courses got steadily longer until it was the best part of an hour before our main plates were cleared and my child finally received their dessert. This was after waiting so long after initially ordering it that yet another member of staff came over to ask if we wanted to order any. A complaint will be going in and sadly we will not be returning. Which is a shame as its only down the road from where w always stay.

There were two in our party we ordered food, it wasn't busy, we waited 40 mins for the food to arrive. The burger was so hard and dry I could barely cut it, I sent it back then waited for ages for the replacement to arrive, by which time my mum had finished her meal. When mine arrived it was the same, the waitress fetched the manager who said it's because they are cooked on the hot plate and they are hard and dry on the outside but moist in the middle !!!! It wasn't it was as dry on the inside as the outside. The manager did not charge for the burnt offerings. But spoilt our evening

My god this place has gone downhill! so disappointed with the service and the poor standards seen when we are here yesterday whilst away on holiday. The place was not clean to say it had just opened! The tables were dirty and sticky, food took ages to come and was not worth the price we paid. Substandard. We were charged for drinks that were ordered but never came. Staff more miserable than a wet weekend. I overheard two staff swearing and moaning about stupid customers as I sat with my 5 year old daughter waiting for our meal (we arrived at 12pm and still waited 50 minutes for food!) if we hadn't driven a fair way to dine there i'd have turned back around!

I stayed here for 4 days with my family there was 9 of us.we will never stay there again due to the fact that the managers wife i have since been informed clearly lacks customer service and does not know how to speak to people,she needs lessons in with dealing with the public I feel very let down as we payed a lot of money to stay here and will not be recommending this place to anyone .

We ended up a party of 2 sitting on a table for 4 when there were plenty of other tables available. Then another 10 min wait for someone to come and ask us what we wanted to drink. Then another 15 mins wait for someone to take our order. The menu is ok if you want chicken or sauces or any other crap on your food. We prefer plain and simple. Looking at the menu there is no or very limited choice for vegetarians. The Monday-Friday memu offers more variety. Then after about 35 mins came the food. Fish & Chips & garden peas. Chips raw, fish was so watery it was disgusting. I left mine and my partner has not been well since. Subsequently this is the last time we will call at the Lobster Pot. There is no reason whatsoever you cannot find your own table, order your own drink, and order your food from the bar. There were not enough staff on tonight bit young and inexperienced. As for the chef microwave comes to mind.
