We visited today to celebrate my Nephews 21st Birthday, the food was superb and the staff were amazing! Thank you for a fab afternoon.

The family went last Sunday for a meal and must say that the food was excellent and we all gave the staff a 5 star for service. The family ordered not just from the main menu but also from the carvery choice which was great value for money. Thank you The Lodge Bar & Dining for a great 5 Star meal.

Me and my boyfriend went to the lodge for valentines! It was amazing! Services was amazing everyone was happy to help.. the food was amazing and looked stunning too! We live 40 mins away and travelled here for Valentine’s and would defiantly be returning soon! I have already recommended to family and friends! Well done all I know how hard days like today can be as I am in the industry too! x

Ive stayed here twice for work training courses and on both times the staff have been very helpful , the food was lovely and the room was clean .

I have to say the food is absolutely fantastic and the staff excellent. We are staying over Easter so looking forward to the next meal we will be enjoying here. Can't fault the food.

Had a lovely meal tonight. Staff were very friendly, service was fab. Very impressed that they went the extra mile by doing me a poached egg instead of fried - I've been to three different restaurants recently who said NO - definitely the big thumbs up �

Excellent Breakfast

Food was lovely. We all had the carvery which was lovely - however the plates used are far too small and the Yorkshire puddings take up half the plate so you struggle to get any vegetables on the plate. You should use larger plates or have smaller Yorkshire puddings. The contrast to this is the desserts come on a huge plate and are very small. All a little bizzarre but very tasty.

not impressed with the carving chef serving the roast potatoes...2roasties per plate, very meagre wen u don't eat mash or boiled potatoes. any other carvery I have been to, u serve urself all the accompaniments

Would rate excellent. Just a few niggles. I must mention the music the saxophonist well excellent not too loud or intrusive while we ate but every tune he played was awesome.Please keep him. Also the food was really good very tasty. I would say the batter could have been a little crispier.

On the negative 1. Two cocktails took 45 mins to get to us.

2. Cocktails were not worth the wait need to have more choice and better taste

3. Quite a few waiting staff just standing around staring at diners. Kind of made an awkward atmosphere. Our server was excellent sorry didn't get her name brown hair glasses

Overall a good night We will definitely be returning. If these few issues are sorted it will be an excellent from me next time for sure.

There was a good choice of food on the menu and we all enjoyed our meals (however 3 of us were served initially then there was a wait for the 4th meal). We ordered dessert and I had cheese and biscuits. The 3 desserts were served and again I had to wait for mine which looked like it had been dropped from a great height onto the plate and the cutlery was slung at me (upside down) rather than placed on the table. There was live music which was far too loud and although we asked for this to be turned down our request was refused. We left and went somewhere else for drinks. Our waiter (Sam) was excellent.

Having read of the poor experiences of the two below parties, Iqbal and Murfin, I will add my sad experience to the list.

We just as the others we were 'parked up' at our table for a good 15 minutes without a drink or chance of ordering our meal. Another long wait, so much so that we decided against a starter. and we had a drink served.

The restaurant is the type I call a shouting shop with each table attempting to speak louder than the next.

A refurb fault was highlighted when two 'zizzling meals' on hot cast iron plates were served resulting in almost every customer choking on the smoke as there was no extractor unit to clear the smoke. Staff rushed to open all windows and doors while several customers went out for fresh air.

Our meals arrived but one was not as stated on the menu but we just kept quiet.

Two Ferrell children were happily playing with toy cars between the tables as we ate our meal, unchallenged by staff or parents.

A second drink was ordered but having decided not to waste time ordering a dessert a member of staff removed our drinking glasses to return a few minutes later with the bill and the comment "In your own time". I advised her that the table was empty due to the drink ordered some twenty minutes ago not having yet arrived.

We settled the bill and left, totally confused as to how our previously favourite restaurant had gone downhill.

My favourite meal is lamb shank and I will advise anyone with a similar good taste.

Go to Weatherspoons where you get served immediately, extractor fans are fitted and working, there are no young children running loose, and a lamb shank which is as good if not better costs less that half the Littleover Lodge rate of £14.75 and includes a free pint.

And what is the managers apparent quote "You get what you pay for"

The poor reviews will obviously continue while an arrogant managers advice is take it or leave it and go somewhere else. Advise taken and acted on.

We had a meal here this month and having sent them all back through not being hot was approached by I assume the restaurant manager and told that they had checked temps of food and were ok but would redo meals . One of our party took exception to this and ended up in an argument with them . Bearing in mind there were only two tables including ours and the other table had also sent food back just after us we were pissed off . When our meals arrived we noticed that the portion size was considerably smaller than first ones . Just ate what was edible paid and left . Will not be going back anytime soon and suggest some customer service training for staff as when people are polite when they have an issue so should the staff

I used to go here a lot but some of the staff have serious attitude problems! was told I couldn’t sample the wine before purchase & at over £6 a glass plan ridiculous! & that’s after we spent £80 on a meal! some of the staff are lovely! Others either talk down to you or stand there staring! Something needs to be done before you lose even more custom!

Horrendous service and food except the pizzas. We’ve been coming here for years and have noticed a sharp decline in the standard and tonight was the final straw. Birthday meal ruined.

Had some friends down for an overnight stay who travel all around on a regular basis, so I booked a room here because of the cheap rates of stay and thought they would be happy with it. This was the worst idea ever I should have paid a few bob extra and booked something like premier inn. We got there a bit late so the reception was shut after trying to figure out what to do next we was pointed towards the bar to check in, once in the bar it took a further 20 mins or so before someone attended us (it was like they kept us waiting that long on purpose) My friends advised that you get what you pay for at this place which is not a lot (very poor hygiene, outdated, lack of light, staff are rude and unhelpful and the list goes on....) they have stayed in better B&B's than this �. When concerns were raised to the manager he simply replied "you get what you pay for and if you want something better go elsewhere and don't use us again" which is very shocking customer service. I am appalled and shocked as to the way we was treated and wouldn't recommend this to my enemy let alone my friends. This hotel should star on hotel nightmares or hotels from hell and lastly we placed a order for a stone baked pizza which was over priced and left most of us on the loo the next morning. A very unpleasant and dreadful experience! ���
