About The Lord High Admiral

The LHA is now a hub not a pub. Due to the Corona Virus, we have teamed up with a few other super local independents to set up shop in the pub. So we have Knead Pizza, The Hutong Cafe and Tilt all under one roof. Check each facebook for all info!

The Lord High Admiral Description

The LHA is now open! ! Selling a range of local craft beers, some Beavertown, and real ales. Plus some lovely seasonal home cooked pub grub during the day and evenings, 7 days a week!

Events such as quiz night and live music coming soon! !

Hope to see you soon,
Holly and Alistair

Burger no.4 for this weekends burger and beer shenanigans is The Sweet Vegan. Our chunky butternut squash Pattie with chickpeas is tanged up with some spicy roasted peppers and onions. With a good dollop of homemade bbq sauce in there which is so so so smokey and sweet.
Whack some blue cheese in there or halloumi if your not vegan!
Wash it down with the easy drinking golden brown bitter - Mane Event, it’s sweetness is just right to enhance those spicy peppers and bbq sauce. Thanks @newlionbrewerytotnes for this banging beer!

User

The Hake Me Out. Burger no. 3
Good bit of hake in this one, and super fresh!!! battered with chilli and served with a super sweet sesame carrot slaw. We’ve whacked on quite a bit of lime mayo to balance the sweetness and tang.
Wash it down with @newlionbrewerytotnes Scorpion IPA which uses chillies from @southdevonchillifarm to give it a kick. These two are Hol’s favourites!!
... Served for our burger beer bonanza this weekend!!

User

And it’s Tuesday!!! Which means it’s taco time!!! Whoop!!! Kicks off at 6-9pm 🌮🌮🌮

User

Burger no. 2 is here! It’s The LHA Chicken Royale - Panko breadcrumbed chicken thigh, American cheese, crispy shallots, pickles and our own royals sauce! Yep it sure is a messy one!!
Teamed with our best seller Pandit from @newlionbrewerytotnes as that citrusy American pale ale with its super clean notes will wash down that salty fried goodness THE BEST!!!
Available this Friday - Monday for our beer and burger bonanza 🎉🎉🎉

User

Coming to you this weekend!!! Fri - Mon is our beer and burger bonanza!!! Come and get involved! And of course we will be serving up roasts on Sunday!

User

We had a lovely meal last week, starters, mains and puds. Couldnt fault any of our meal. Great pub food, we love what Holly and Alistar have done to the pub. We will be back.

User

Nice food, nice staff, nice decor, nice atmosphere. All round nice place to visit.

User

My partner and I visited today for Sunday roast and had a great experience.

The staff were friendly, the craft beers, food (vegetarian and meat alike) and atmosphere were all excellent.

We'll be coming back and recommending The LHA to others. Thanks!

User

Lovely little place,

Went for lunch yesterday and sat in the beer garden, we had the mussels and spicy beef salad. Both were fantastic and to wash it down a couple of pints of Pandit from new lion brewery which I highly recommend.

User

Love it, beautiful pub, perfect beer garden, friendly staff and delicious food... What else is there to say?

User

Incredible! By far the best carvery I've ever had, delicious. Great service and super cosy atmosphere xx

User

Great to see LHA open in Plymouth, concentrating on quality produce and keeping beer well. The burgers we had last night were really juicy. The cask all tasted in a good state, which can sometimes be hard to find in Plymouth, so more than happy to pay for it. A decent spirits selection too. Will be a regular Monday night visit for us.

User

Great Sunday roast with good beer, warm fire, papers and classic blues playing. Definitely going to be a monthly treat and will try the quiz on Thursday too.

User

Fab Sunday roast and a lovely pub. Reasonable prices too. Simple menu and really great food

User

Best pub in Plymouth?!

Best pub in Britain.

Hands down.

User

Best pub in Plymouth - awesome service & beautiful food and selection of local craft beers.

They have really created something so special that Plymouth really needed!

User

Amazing food and a range of quality drinks in an excellent setting, very much a hidden gem and an exciting addition to Plymouth’s growing food and drink scene that should be welcomed with opened arms by all. Looking forward to coming back.

User

No longer a local boozer but more a restaurant which happens to serve booze 😟have to move with the times I suppose. Won’t be back

User

I love this pub. Cosy friendly atmosphere. But can’t help but think £5 a pint is a bit pricey. Albeit it was a lovely pint but can’t help but think there’s only a few places in Plymouth that think this is a reasonable price.

User

Nice pub and atmosphere. Just £5 for beer is too much for the location, probably the most expensive pint I have brought in Plymouth.

User

Liked what they've done with place..prices for a beer £4.50 is abit steep so didnt stay to try food but menu looks good.. disappointed as this was my local... good luck though to the new proprietors.

User

Hi guys, great that you are open again as you're our local!!! Came in for food and a drink and glad the place has been improved but it still feels cosy. Always though they could do with more seating to make it more inviting and indeed you have done this. However I think the table and chairs in front of the fire on the rug is in the way a bit, and would be nice to have a few bar stools at the bar. Anyway the menu was nice albeit thought a bit expensive for pub food, but as I work with restaurants I know margins aren't great on food. We had fish and fat chips, not quite fat as I would have though, I suppose I was thinking chunky but certainly weren't skinny fries. The mush peas were lovely and I don't even like them, fish good and decent portion, however the piece of paper on the bottom of the dish went a bit soggy when my partner put sauce on and from the peas and broke up which was a bit awkward. I had sausage and mash which was really tasty. All in all fairy good, ambience was nice (be great once the smell of fresh paint goes) I think the food will be a good offering and we'll be back soon.
