I would recommend the lord Hill Hotel for any occasion they do an excellent service! Thank you so much for all that you did for us in making our day so special!

User

We are staying in at the Lodge on the hotel grounds. It's newly re-furnished and looks absolutely amazing. Very clean and has all the amenities you could possibly ask for, even a full size bath. The staff are very helpful and everyone spoke to us seem very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

User

Was here for a funeral function. Staff, were all polite, attentive and professional. Food served was good quality but went too quickly. They allowed us to stay way beyond the hire time and then served an evening meal in the function room. The food was a good standard and waiting staff and bar staff were great dealing with the unplanned dinner guests of 20 +.

I stayed the night. My room was clean and comfortable with everything needed for a good sleep. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Well done to the Lord Hill Hotel for making a very sad occasion memorable and enjoyable.

Goodbye Sheila Evans. You will be missed by everyone.

User

Times Square band have been playing at some of the Christmas parties this year. We visit a lot of different venues but this is one of the most welcoming we have been to. Amazing staff, great personalities and fabulous function rooms. They really look after us. Glad we are going back the next two weekends. Thanks guys x

User

Stayed here for one night for a boxing event on Saturday 28/10/17.

We were given a room in the lodge area as the hotel was very busy for the event but check in was quick and the lady was very pleasant to us.

We enjoyed a quick drink in the bar area where the man serving us went out of his way to ensure we knew exactly where everything was and how to get to the room for the boxing later. He was very polite and helpful.

Our room was really nice. Everything was clean and fresh and I’d recommend booking into the lodge area if you prefer it a bit quieter away from the main hotel

The boxing event was one of the best I’ve ever attended. Extremely well organised and the food was absolutely delicious. It was served quickly by friendly smiling staff and the table service meant we were never short of a full glass!

Breakfast the next morning was served in a very spacious delightful conservatory area and yet again the food was fabulous. Beautiful full grill to take care of any possible effects from the full glasses of the previous night! The head waitress was a delightful lady who was cheerful and friendly and seemed to relish in a quick chat with all the guest to ensure their stay had been as enjoyable as possible.

All in all I would 100% recommend the lord hill hotel and look forward to future similar events.

User

My husband and I stayed here just for one night as we were going to a Rod Stewart concert, it's a lovely hotel, we had drinks in the bar on the evening, breakfast next morning which was really nice, couldn't fault it, would return, would definitely recommend, clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

User

Me and my husband got married here on the 17th December 2017 We would like to say a massive thank u to Elena and Terry and all the staff we had a fantastic day and nothing was to much trouble thank u again all

User

Just had my wedding here and have to say what a marvellous job the Lord Hill Hotel did in arranging it. From start to finish all the staff have been so kind and accomodating. Nothing has been too much trouble. The standard of service and food has been exceptional. Truly can't say enough to them justice. Very pleased.

User

I just want to say what a great night Stafford myself and all our family and friends had on Friday 2nd 2018 celebrating Stafford’s 70th birthday. The food was excellent the staff where all very friendly and helpful great job Elena . Everything went to plan . It was a wonderful venue we also stayed the night, room was fantastic also had excellent breakfast. Will most certainly be using the lordhill again. Just want to mention that all family and friends also enjoyed Hotrod 55.

User

Had a fabulous meal for Valentine's. Three course £25.00.Table beautifully laid out with flowers, chocolates, candle, petals etc. Starter, main and sweet all presented attractively and tasted delicious. Attentive and friendly staff. Coffee and petit fours to finish at a small cost of £2.50 per person. Oh, and a rose for the ladies!

User

Was there for a tribute act quarry my husband and a couple of friends. The bar was mainly empty most of the night - hardly surprising as a single Tia Maria with NO mixer was £7.50! One member of the bar staff was more interested in flirting with the many females there than serving and despite there not being many people at the bar there was always a quite long wait. Clean and tidy though. You expect to pay a premium on bar prices in an hotel but that was just ridiculous.

User

Arrived with no booking and was given a great price for the night.

Hotel is spotlessly clean and staff are very friendly, rooms good with nice comfy beds.

Breakfast was very good and was included in the price which was better than any price offered on the

Hotel deal websites.

Would definitely stay again.

User

Went for xmas dinner on xmas day. Had drinks in the bar first, very nice, sat at our table and waited and waited while other tables were waited on. Couldn't attract waitress so made my way to the desk and explained nobody had offered us drinks, they apologised and took our order and they arrived 10 minutes later. Starters were ok, mains were fine too although nobody checked on us for extra gravy etc. Then waited 40 mins for sweets, no further offer to get us drinks, made a second polite complaint and were awarded free drinks and our sweets immediately. I feel the staff took their eye off the ball, perhaps too many tables to be able to manage? I,m not saying it was a bad meal but very disappointed in the overall experience, they were very nice, very apologetic and quick to address our concerns with reimbursements of drinks.

User

Went for the 80’s night great night band Dj and staff were brilliant.

But the manger Terry needs too go back too hospitality school, being sworn at by a manger is not expectable and having AFD AFD AFD shouted at us by him to then find out from another member of staff what it means ( all F**cking day ) meaning he’d been there all f**cking day sorry but if that’s how you speak too customers that have put money in your till then your in the wrong job.

Your a rude aggressive man.

But I do have too say the staff behind the bar were so polite especially the man working in main bar in restaurant. Sort yourself out Manager Terry..........

User

Food mediocre really, fatty pork, slow to bring veg out . Not priced well regarding courses, Supervisor had attitude when discussing issues, very bad. Cromwells way better then peach Tree next best choice.

User

Stayed in The Lodge comfy beds clean lovely fluffy towels and good choice tv programmes really needs a bit of a refit in bathrooms bit dated cooked breakfast looked lovely but a bit bland and a bit pricey, a bit too far from Shrewsbury town centre so taxi a must if no car bit misleading on the hotel website regarding this as hoped to walk as attending an event at the HMP.

User

We booked a Christmas party night for Saturday 17th, arrival and sit down times were confirmed by email from Christopher arrival after 7pm to sit down for 8pm. You would assume that arriving at 7:30pm would be perfectly acceptable giving us enough time to order a drink before being seated. However a member of your staff barked at our party (your customers) that "everyone else managed to be here and sat down for 7:30". wholly unacceptable to speak to a paying guest that way, especially when the mistake was on your behalf - we had arrived in plenty of time according to the information we were provided with- The man in question I believe was the host, dark hair, medium build wasn't wearing a name badge or a waistcoat.

The whole night was a complete shambles on your behalf really, painfully slow service, below average food and a none existent selection of vegetables with the main. The wait for mains between the beef being put down first and then the fish served last was appalling. The food wasn't hot when put down and served on cold plates. Soup was warm and not hot, pate had developed a brown skin and looked like it had been sat out on a counter for hours.

Bar prices were extortionate, Service was slower than the food and your bar staff looked as though they had never worked a night before.

Disco was poor, DJ was rude and unaccommodating. Dance floor was none existent and could barely hold an eighth of the guests seated in the 2 rooms.

Overall the whole night had no atmosphere, a complete lack of coherence, was wholly disappointing and terrible value for money.

User
