The Lord Nelson

Good folks who frequent the Nelson... Meet Douglas, he is not a stray, he has a human parent but he seems to increasingly like to visit us and wander about inside and out of his own accord. We are asking you to please not pet him or feed him as many of our guests have allergies and we need to not be encouraging the cheeky wee Douglas to linger. If left alone he will wander home.

Such a lovely family pub, lovely garden great food and the staff are so nice and polite. Would recommend to any family that loves a pub lunch. X

Quiz night on a tuesday is such a giggle. Chelsea makes it loads of fun and mixes up the topics so everyone can get involved. We hopelessly lose every week but we don't come to win (mostly). Have the chicken burger!!

I was stuck in London for a day, they let me park. Staff are great, nice food and beer. Price wise I couldn't believe I was in London (cheaper than my local in Darlington on Monday night!) ! Great pub, friendly and warm and although I didn't see the old, the new decor is great. The beer garden should be on a beach not London road!

Great pub- food is lovely - staff are really nice and it's great for the odd cheeky Sunday dinner with the kids... Gets nice and busy on a Friday and Saturday night - always a good time, the live music was really good and pretty good on price too - def going back

First time i had been to this pub & i have lived in the area for 24years ...took my boss in there for a works meeting lunch as noticed the pub had been refurbished ... very nice atmosphere, nice staff & food was really scrumptious ... would def recommend The Lord Nelson ...

Three friends live a short walk from the Lord Nelson & I've been in there a few times for lunch with them which we've always enjoyed & prices are reasonable. Yesterday evening was the first time I'd visited after dark so to say, again with two friends & found everyone was very friendly. Food was good & it was a pity we couldn't stay longer & enjoy the entertainment. Given how so many pubs have been changed into trendy bars it's good to know there are still pubs like the Lord Nelson around. I live in Fulham otherwise I think I would be in there more often!!

Never been there before in my life and lived in North cheam/Kingston most of my life and when my friend Alyssa suggested I thought " really " but "give it a go"! My friend Alyssa, Dylan the dog, and I loved. Staff were exceptionally friendly and obliging, food cooked well, and the ambience we loved. Thank you staff. X

Liking the new look. The lawn looks pretty cool and the lights are great. Very busy on the first night of reopening though.

I just lived across the road so I dont mind entertaining my guest in this pub . Foods are averaged with good price ! I know its a busy pub but I experienced long waiting to be served but thats understandable.. I support my local pub !!

The food was nice and so was the beers but the service is really lacking ! Bar staff so miserable and don't serve people in any kind of order. Was left standing for ages while they served regulars behind me !!!

This pub gets worse every year......how many managers has it had in the past 4 years? Why don't they stick around?

The food was disgusting. Four of us out for a family lunch and not one of us finished our food. 80% of what was served to us was left on the plates when we left.

I complained to the young barman who did seem particularly bothered as he proceeded to charge me full price for everything despite it being inedible.



The staff started to chatter behind the bar and it was evident that they weren't surprised at my comments.



To sum it up - the chef should be sacked and so should whoever decided it was best to buy the lowest quality food possible.



The girls behind the bar however, were lovely. Friendly, helpful, welcoming and just about the only positive thing I have to say.

New decor looks very nice, beer as good as before , but very disappointed with the service, the bar staff were more interested in talking to one or two regulars than actually serving the waiting customers, when I did eventually get served it was almost like it was a inconvenience, no smile, no please or thank you.

I’ve been in this pub a few times and the service and food have always been great. Tonight however was a different matter. We ordered starters and mains, all of which turned up at the same time. When we tried to send the mains back, as they would have gone cold, we were told that they wouldn’t take them back as they were too busy. We were also told that we’d requested everything at the same time which is a lie. Very disappointed and probably won’t be back.

Myself, my mum and my dad had lunch here today. Was absolutely awful. Not only did we receive poor service but I was insulted by 2 of the "regulars" for looking like "young tottie". The food we order, not only did they not have what my dad originally wanted, but when he did choose something else the girl came back to us about 10 minutes later and told us that they didn't have the main component for his meal, so instead of spicy rice he had to have plain rice.



When receiving our "meals" they didn't look particularly appetising. All of our chips were over cooked and oily!!

My mums Gammon was over cooked, burnt around the sides and was like rubber! She also never got the onion rings she was suppose to have with her meal. Probably a good thing because they were dripping with oil as well on my dish.

I ordered the smothered steak, medium rare, and it just looked an absolute mess. My steak was WAY OVER cooked. Beyond what I would even call well done!!!! My peppercorn sauce was like water. And like I said earlier, the onion rings were so oily!

I am a chef myself and normally I'm not very picky as I know how stressful it can be in the kitchen, but seeing as the place was so quiet and there was no one else having food but us, I expected some sort of standard! You either need to seriously replace your kitchen staff or get them some better training!



I would never recommend this place to anyone! Waste of money, waste of time, and a waste of what probably could of been good food if it was done correctly!!!!!
