A long hard day in a hot kitchen with @ollie_boy_grand, a late order,(always happy to serve!) and this was the last dish out..Swordfish, coconut and chilli with sweet potato fries and Charlie's Leaves. We have a very 5* Lower Red Lion in St.Albans and it’s rare for us to go anywhere else where the beer, food & pub is as good. I can honestly say all were very 5* here. Loved the wooden box of condiments, food superb, beer great and very friendly. We will definitely be back.

We always visit the Lord Nelson when we are in their neck of the wood. The food and beer are fantastic. They are very welcoming to my pooch and the place is always heaving with both visitors and locals. Definitely recommend a visit

Visited yesterday and the atmosphere was great. Food was lovely. We had pulled beef sour dough sandwich and prawn baguette but the chips were gorgeous.

Once again a great meal at The Lord Nelson, Southwold, a new menue was on offer and was very tempting, but when you know just how good the Haddock and chips are, it is very difficult to steer away. just very good and quickly served, along with the haddock, we enjoyed cod n chips, and scampy n chips, the little one had the cheesey pasta, perfectly cooked.

Love this pubs old world charm. Beers are excellent , food very good and at a reasonable . I can recommend the Cromer crab salad very tasty. Staff all very friendly and efficient. A very dog friendly place. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to place to anyone , whether they have a dog or not and wether they were just popping in for a drink or a bit to eat.

Love this place. Except when I don’t get my broadside served in an Adnams glass 😉

I can honestly say I couldn't love this pub any more. It's our favourite - nothing beats it in summer when it's jam packed with visitors and buzzing with holiday vibes or in winter when it's a favourite locals hang out and always cosy. There is nothing about town you can't find out at The Nelly.



The menu keeps getting better with lots of new developments.



So good we're even going to name our new puppy after it!

Had the Cromer crab salad with new potatoes and it was amazing washed down with Adnams Ghost Ship. Never a bad meal or beer here in all the years I have been visiting Southwold and The Lord Nelson.

Had such a lovely meal last night!! The new menu is so good, can’t wait to come back!

Had a amazing afternoon feed here. The pulled beef baguette and chips were delicious. I love this pub and cozy beer garden and staff were so cool and friendly. I love southworld anyhow but if you are to visit and want something bit more than fish n chips this place will answer that.

Great selection of food, good beers, lovely atmosphere, very good staff and service. Wish it was my local pub, great place to spend time just chilling.

Fab beer and super food! Busy, but staff soon found us a place to perch until table in the family area was free. Very cosy, but the size just adds to the charm. Mussels were delicious, the smoked fish burger was awesome, and the chips and proper rapeseed oil mayo were perfect. Thank you for adding to a great birthday x

Beer is always great and newly discovered Earl Grey Lager lead to a trip to the Adnams shop for a case. May have to have a hot line to the brewery to have it delivered! Fantastic.

A wonderful meal of skate cooked with brown shrimps and new potatoes. Washed down wirh some Adnams.
