Went to a christening party upstairs and it was fabulous :) lovely and warm pub and the dinners smelled amazing! Gutted I didn't have one but a lovely buffet spread was laid out for us and very reasonable prices! Will Deffo be back :)

The pub was very busy and we had to wait a long time for our meal, but the lovely landlady was very attentive, the food lovely and we got a free pudding to compensate!

Our first time here and loved it. Great food, reasonably priced and really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

New to the area, I've been in once or twice before and the service is impeccable. Really friendly staff and made a lot of fuss over my mates dog. When me and my friend came in last night we wanted to place an order for some chips, the bar staff said we only had a few minutes but will go through and let the kitchen staff know an order would be coming through. I felt at home comfortable and relaxed. I'll see you all soon. 😊🍺🍻

Had our Wedding Reception upstairs in the function room on Sat 18th March for about 50 of us.

From first meeting Jeanie, she was so helpful and enthusiastic. the room is very welcoming, especially now since the last time we had a birthday party there and there has been a refurb .

The buffet was fantastic, every one loved it. And again on the day Jeanie and the staff were brilliant.

The staff were so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, thank you.

First time we have been called in for Sunday lunch absolutely beautiful staff couldn't do enough for you and the service was spot on thank you will be returning.

Fantastic: I won a meal for 2 & an bottle wine in a raffle at a local farm an was abit undecided if to go or not. As it being my husbands birthday I thought we would use it to my shock the pub had been done up lovely they have regular evening offers, food was fantastic, service was fab, prices were great an they even sang happy birthday an brought a candle out I will def be going back an will 100% recommend to everyone. They even let me bring wine home as I was driving. Thanks for a lovely night see you soon :) xx we visited 11/9/14

Amazing food cooked fresh, much better than the microwave stuff from the chain pubs, lovely atmosphere and very welcoming staff who take time to chat, proper friendly place, go...you won't regret it.

A fantastic place to go. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff very attentive and friendly. A breath of fresh air. I would truly recommend a visit. This is what all pub restaurants should be like

Lovely homemade Sunday dinner, although would like a bit more choice of veg. I don't like carrots and we had ordered cauliflower cheese but it hadn't been put through on the check sent to the kitchen so I was left with only cabbage.

Last minute order taken, was with Bernard Froggatt, John and Tina Russell. John was not able to eat his pie! Bernard ate his, but it wasn't 'home made' like we have had before. They really enjoyed the home made chips!

The waitress was lovely and apologised, as 'Punch' send the pies, and won't allow Jeannie to make her own! Tina and I really enjoyed what we ordered.

Came to the Loyal Trooper for Sunday lunch yesterday. We are very lucky when it comes to Sunday lunch so werebt expecting too much from this place but we left pleasantly surprised. The meat portions were ample, normally you get 1/2 slices at best but there was plenty. Potatoes were decent, also had nice mash which tasted like it was home made, even had a few lumps in which made it seem home made. The gravy had pieces of meat in it so made it really lovely flavour. Got plenty veg as well. And the Yorkshire pudding were huge! Very reasonably priced as well and the pub itself very very clean. Will definitely be going back to try their normal meals. Really great to find a place so close by that is decent.

Came here last night for the first time, was a very nice atmosphere and all the staff where working hard. That food was lovely although we had to wait almost an hour food the food. Will certainly be back again soon.

Told two weeks in a row I can't have food advertised on menu despite it saying food served until 5.
