we came here today with my family, baby and a dog. it was really good. the waiter was very thorough and was very helpful with my dietary requirements (I need a gluten free diet) the chef obviously knows about coeliac disease and cross contamination so would recommend it. my only little niggle would be if they could have a gluten free dessert maybe. other than that fab food and atmosphere and definitely will go again.

This used to be our families local over the last 20 years and we stopped going.

We have now visited this pub since it re-opened and had a change of owner, on many occasions.

I would just like to say that it is now a great local pub, friendly, welcoming, and Clean. Just what this area needed.

The staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them, they are polite & friendly.

The management are two really nice guys, whilst maintaining a professsional approach, they make it a nice atmosphere for both staff and the customers.

It is dog friendly which is a bonus for all of us dog owners.

My husband is over the moon that finally they always have 3 well kept Real Ales, he said the guys obviously know what they are doing with them. I’m pleased to say the wine is always very cold unlike other pubs close by where you have to put ice in it to make it cold. The food, and we have eaten here on many occasions, has always been lovely.

Please keep up the good work guys as we need a great local.

I recommend this pub now to everyone I know as it is well worth a visit.

P.S love all the outside seating.

Fantastic after the refurb!! Completely dog friendly, with bowls, tap, treats station for dogs (welcome inside and out) and right on the edge of great walks around Sankey Valley.. lots of cocktails, great selection of gin balloons and a great menu too. It's our new local (although it's further away than our nearest pub)!

User

Decided to try a new venue for my birthday and i am so glad we did. Very doggy friendly... set back from the road, we arrived and was immediately greeted by some really great bar staff! Offered biscuits and water for our little fur ball as we sat down. Food was lovely, atmosphere was great and we will certainly be back again! Thank you for a great experience.

Came for the afternoon tea last weekend and it was gorgeous, highly recommend, had a few other meals in the past too and all been so nice xxx

User

Always a fantastic stop for a great beer and people. But when fantastic music friends, Scratch, are also playing everything is perfect. Wonderful night with great people.

Called in after a reccomendation from a friend as i do a daily dog walk on the canal x

Dog friendly ; has its own little dog station with loads of bowls , fresh water , treats and even poo bags , brilliant .

We ate but my friend is strict vegan so struggled as really only a vegan burger (sorry we get a bit fed up of these )

I prefer vegan but opted for the veggie beetroot /butternut squash tart with home made chips .

The home made chips were huuuge and bloody gorgeous , the tart was presented nicely in a little skillet with my veg on top . Looked nice but my veg was luke warm as were parts of the tart . I didnt complain as i didn't want it to go in the microwave and the dogs are only patient for so long .

The food however was extremely tastey .

Service was excellent 2 very smiley helpful chaps behind the bar . Who obliged by making my friends tea extra strong with 2 teabags .

In summary Dog friendly, great friendly service , lovely ambience and surroundings .

Step up vegan options (was there a vegan pudding )

Meals slightly over priced

Food tasted good and presented well but a bit cold .

However best chunky chips ever !

See you soon .

I loved the new menu but you've changed it already. Started out with 3 choices of salad on the menu, now there's only 1. No option to order a side salad either. Salad is not just a garnish! It's an essential part of some people's diets. I'm less enthusiastic about eating here now. Bring back the salad and give us more veg too please. We like to be healthy.

User

I had Ribeye steak it was lovely and cooked well but for £20.00 I had a piece of steak small jacket potato 4 small toms and a mushroom...... very poor portion disappointed to say the least

User

Food took an hour to arrive, beef too brown, green beans more al raw than al dente, carrots not peeled & tops not cut off, yorkies good, roasties & stuffing very good. Veggie goats cheese pie & fat chips excellent. Bar staff need training, asked for a pint of cask ale in a straight glass & it arrived in a Fosters glass.

Been in a few times since the refurb & there's been issues with customer service every time...

User

Visited a few times, and thought the service and food was excellent, so decided to have a birthday meal there with my Mum.

The starters were amazing as per, however I ordered the Chicken main. It was supposed to have special crisps on top - these never arrived. The chicken was dry, the garlic was unfortunately overcooked and tasted extremely sour - and somehow the crushed new potatoes were also sour.

I just think that the price and beautiful setting, the finishing touches should be there, and the garlic shouldn't be burnt. Apart from the chef, everything was fantastic.

I haven't visited again as it's put me off a little.

I have been drinking at the maltings since it was bewsey farm pub over 25 yrs, I was having a meal with my family n witnessed a lady complaining about underage drinkers being served alcohol, this lady was asked to leave and as I've found out since the police were called to her by the manager, for one I'd like to point out that young men come here with underage girls n buy alcohol while the girls sit outside this I've witnessed lots of times, That manager tried to put his hands on this lady but she refused, Can honestly say my family and I disgusted this at our meal n we will not be eating or even frequenting this place again, You may change the decor but fact remains the same, I will be making a call to police as a witness, also my husband, my brother n my parents be making complaints too..
