Great place love the pods outs side with heaters on very cosy love to go back in rhe summer and the food was spot on I carnt think of. Nothink bad to say about it staff were very welcoming service spot on ill be. Coming back soon 🍻👍

4 of us ate here Friday 23rd March. I had pre-booked the table on-line 4 days before. The table was ready for us when we arrived. The restaurant was absolutely packed. The service was excellent, very efficient & friendly, especially as it was so busy. The food was amazing, steak was cooked to perfection as was the lamb & hake. The setting is stunning and this place has been refurbished beautifully. We were packed in a bit tightly and think the place would benefit from fewer tables maybe? There was a live band on, who were excellent, but don't think it helped the ambience for fine dining - would have been better if the band were in a completely different part of the pub. Otherwise, great meal, place, experience.

User

The waitress that looked after us was very friendly, pizzas were lovely, love the atmosphere, would have liked to have sat in the garden but there were rather a lot of wasps. but not a problem just sat inside.

User

Stopped for lunch on the way back to the Wirral after a weekend away in Broadway. We just had a buttermilk battered chicken baguette, which was lovely. Good layout and decor. Staff friendly and helpful. Will visit again

User

Nice venue, lovely friendly staff, but food was cold, I had a beef burger which tasted lovely but my chips were cold, sent it back, and returned to me with the same burger but fresh chips. My wife had the hake, which again tasted lovely she said, but was very cold, she sent it back, and was returned from the microwave, the girl said the chef cooked it flesh again. But I know it wasn’t because the wedge of lemon was piping hot straight from the microwave. Too expensive for microwave food, and portions was small.

User

I stopped in on impulse as i chanced by it. Very impressed as i walked in by the setting. I was greeted almost immediately as i walked in and informed where everything was. Not crowded but a reasonable amount of guests already there. I sat outside and was greeted speedily and in a friendly manner ( even offerred a cushion which i declined but appreciated the offer) by a waitress. I had a really good 3 courses, the cider (orchard thieves i think) was nice and crisp, not watery as you can sometimes get. I know it's weather dependent but sitting outside, eating, reading and watching the sunset etc. was great. Staff were friendly; efficient; chatty a credit to the place.

Will definitely visit again.

Too long a wait despite pre-booking - drinks a tad expensive - however waitress was incredibly friendly and professional - either they take too many bookings or don’t employ sufficient staff to cope with demand

User

I went with friends and our children we sat in the bar area as we hadnt booked. The setting is lovely very stylish pub. The food was lovely when we eventually got it. My daughter 6yrs old had to wait for her pizza all the adults and other children has nearly finished their meals before my daughters came after asking twice where it was. My friends daughter age 3 was given an adult pizza luckily we didnt habe to pay adult price for it. Then we waited and waited for 1 drink and again had to ask twice for it. And then all the puddings arrived and again the last pudding which was mine didnt come so we waited for ages and had to ask twice again for it so everyone else had nearly finished puddings. 2 or 3 Waiters had large hooped earrings in their hair down and long length and phones in their back pockets. Now im not one to complain but this looks very unorofessional and surely isnt acceptable in reguards to health and safety. At the end we asked for the manager and the swrver had no idea eho the manager was. Once we had found the manager ourselves he was very approchable and vey apologetic and refunded alot of our bill. This pub looks lovely from the outside and the food was nice but service and professionalism from waitress staff wasnt acceptable. I do thank the manager for being compasionate and helpful.

Went last night for my daughters birthday. We had booked a table. We sat for 20mins before anyone came over to us. Very poor service, staff were not really helpful and told us it would be an hours wait fir food.

Poor....

We visited 3 weeks ago to celebrate our friends 60th Birthday. Booked online for 8.30pm, arrived at 7.45pm for a drink and let the hostess know we were in the bar. When it was time for us to sit down we were told our table wasn’t ready and we’d have to wait! I told the hostess I didn’t feel that was acceptable and she was very efficient in finding another table for us. Unfortunately things only went downhill from there! We waited ages to order, had to ask for drinks two or three times....the last round we ordered turned up with the bill. I had to find a waitress to ask for plates to be cleared. The sharing camambert starters were very small for £12 each and were plonked down on the table with no offer of side plates. I asked for a starter risotto as a main course and was bought two. When I pointed out the error the waitress took the dishes away and scraped them both into one bowl and bought it back. The manager took my husbands email address and said he would be in touch the following week....we’re still waiting.

I understand Saturday night is so busy, I work in hospitality myself, and I have eaten here before and enjoyed the food but this time the service really let the side down. It’s a beautiful environment and the food is generally good, if a little overpriced, but after this experience I won’t be returning and certainly wouldn’t recommend.

User

Very disappointed today that 3 options my family and I selected off the menu were not available. Disappointing, especially considering the distance we travelled.

User

This was mine and my husbands first time coming here, dining with friends that have been before and said it was lovely! But I was really disappointed with food & serve. The prices are at high end so you expect good service along with high end food! Other meals on table were ok, my friends pizza was over cooked and hard but said it was ok to eat. But I ordered the fillet steak and sent it back twice as the second time I swear they resent the same steak back after saying it was over cooked and had no garlic butter, so returned even more over cooked and just added garlic butter, so sent back again! My last steak was loads better but still not the best. By the time I received my meal all other members of our party had finished. So had to eat my meal on my own, felt rushed and embarrassed as I hate complaining. no manager came over to see what the problem was after sending food back not once but twice. Just disappointed! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone really. Such a shame as it looks so nice! Ps the toilets were discussing too (dirty)

Incredibly poor service

Mediocre food

Needs a strong management hand to improve an ailing reputation

You know you can do better than this

User

Awful place. Has not improved and management don’t know what there doing...shame as the place itself deserves more. Here right now and sat in a booth that’s hasn’t been cleaned from last night filth everywhere. Won’t be back and we’re moving on for food

User

We decided to try somewhere different on Sunday afternoon and phoned to make sure we could get in ok and booked a table for three !

When we arrived at about 5 o'clock we found the pub to be very quiet with plenty of room and we were able to choose where we sat . The decor was lovely and we greeted at the door , we chose to sit outside as the sun was out but had to wait approx. 15 mins for somebody to come and ask what we would like to drink . Looking at the drinks list we opted for a couple of pints of Peroni and a large glass of Rose wine, we also decided on a bottle of Prosecco with their cheapest being £30 ! The waitress who served us was very friendly and very helpful and came back after a slight delay as she said the barman was very slow serving and apologised with a smile.

Food , we looked at the menu and there was a reasonable choice but a little expensive we thought so we ordered some garlic and tomato dough balls for starters along with 2 Brisket Burgers and A fillet steak for my wife even though it was £27.00 (more than Miller and Carter) . After approx. 15 mins the waitress came back and told us there were no dough balls as the chef had forgotten to get them out of the freezer so we change to Garlic and Tomato bread instead . We carried on drinking for another ten minutes or so and the waitress returned to say they had run out of brisket so could no longer offer the burgers we were looking forward too . Our only other option was more fillet steak and that would have worked out at £81.00 which we though was a bit expensive to say the least .

We thanked the waitress for he honesty and paid the bar bill , 2 Peroni , One large glass or Rose and 1 bottle of Prosecco £44.00 !

Lovely pub and décor and great service from the waitress its just a shame that it was all over priced and due to bad management no food ! We certainly won’t be returning anytime soon !

Big let-down in all honesty !

User

Visisted here today for a few drinks. As we arrived they served us 1 pint of peroni and a black coffee, the coffee mug was ‘DIRTY’ (dry coffee stains) Then we decided to order 2 bowls of chips, which we had to wait about 25/30 minutes for and were ‘COLD’. They were served in which looked like a small desk plant pot. The bill was quite expensive. We had between 2 people 2 skinny fries 1 black coffee 1 breakfast tea and 2 peroni. £22.30

User

Poor service had to wait ages after we had ordered most of the staff are to busy chatting with each other.

Food was poor duck starter was not fresh noddles were hard and stuck together the pork main was tasteless.

The others in the group had steaks very fatty and not worth the price tag.

My advise is give it a mis unless you like spending your money on poor service and food

User

If pub chooses to charge high end prices for their food and drinks then customers expect high end service.

My friend and I visited mid/late afternoon for a few drinks, we intended on having pizza too but we didn't stay to eat.

When we arrived there was more staff than customers, I went to the bar to order a bottle of Prosecco (shocked at £28). My friend sat down at a table, we then had to call someone over to have it wiped down, obviously this should have been done previously, as I mentioned, more staff than customers.

After the first glass I went to the bar and asked for a pizza menu. I was the ONLY person at the bar. I was told by one of the four members of staff behind the bar where they were, over by the entrance. Not one member of staff offered to get one for us even though they were doing nothing!! If they had of offered, we probably would have stayed to eat, spending another £30 ish on pizza and another £28 on another bottle.

Instead, we left, went to a pub up the road, had great service and paid £12 for a lovely bottle of prosecco.

If i'm paying £28 for an average bottle of prosecco, i expect good service, we were so very disappointed with the prices and the service.

I very much doubt i'll be rushing back here, it seems, unfortunately, that although the venue is appealing, the service massively lets it down.

User

Booked in for Sunday lunch party of 12 lovely surroundings plenty of staff on hand but that is as good as it got, the lunch itself was very poor and I am not sure how one the meals made it out of the kitchen it was advertised as chicken wrapped in bacon with a sage stuffing when it arrived it was just a chicken breast and when we asked about the additional components to the dish they brought out a rasher of bacon on a very dry stuffing ball! One of the steaks was badly over cooked and the cauliflower cheese was dried in the dish. The waitress removed some of the cost but overall very poor.
