Very good - although fairly crowded so service a little slow and Yorkshire puddings were a little / very flat.

After our second visit in 2 months (benefit of the doubt for the 2nd) sadly our experience was poor.
Staff are very busy and forgetful, asking for a non-alcoholic drink for my pregnant lady but receiving and her drinking an alcohol version didn't lead to a good start.
Followed by a trio roast with only two meats and both meals being tepid at best. We did eventually get the missing meat and asked for extra gravy but had finished the meal by the time it arrived.
Don't go for beef, it would be better used as a door stop, 'as tough as Boots' certainly under describes it.
On our previous visit the food was better but again they had missed items and again service was extremely poor.

My first visit here. Went for lunch with my mother-in-law. It started with a friendly greeting and being shown to our table. Unfortunately, except for the food, it went downhill from there. It took too long to take our drinks and food order. It took ages to get our drinks which really should be served within minutes of arrival. My Adnams was not the best. We only had a main course each and the food was good but took a while to come. We opted out of a desert but ordered a coffee but paid and left before it was served due to the delay. An hour and a half is too long for a drink and a main course. Not sure if we’d go again.

Last time rated four Stars but this time only one. No lobster in prawn and lobster starter and the lettuce was limp and unappetising. No roasts left at 5:30 on a Sunday. No soap in the gents toilets and although reported unrectified. Horrendous food mess on the floor of a nearby table which wasn't cleaned up.
Finally having visited many cafes and restaurants throughout this country, we felt that the fillet steak meal was one of the most miniscule meals we have ever seen and it was incorrectly advertised in your menu as it resembled a small burger.
Unfortunately this is all true.

A good atmosphere, service and food at a reasonable price.

Last minute decision to eat out. Hadn't been here for a number of years. Completely different! Fresh menu, friendly staff, good service. Would certainly recommend.

Visited on a Tuesday. Venue was reasonably busy. Quick service by polite and friendly staff. We'do booked table online for 5 but on arrival staff moved us to a bigger table to give us more room - nice touch.Menu choice good with some 'different' choices to the usual pub grub. Food was good quality, nicely presented and good portions. On the downside.... menus were a bit dog-eared & grubby and tables looking a bit tired. Overall good experience and would definitely return.
