The Marsh Mills Beefeater

We had a very nice meal here last night, my husband and I had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and was very tender. My son and his wife both enjoyed their meals. The only disappointment we had was our grandsons meal which was the chicken curry, he found something in it which looked like raw chicken, the manager took it away and looked into it and said he was sure it was not chicken, was very apologetic knocked the meal off the bill and asked if he would like something else, he just had some chips.

Took my 2 energetic sons there this afternoon. They both loved their meals including desserts and one of the managers enertained several questions from them as they are both very inquisitive! Overall a good meal and quality time spent there with my boys �

Me and the missus booked a table for 1pm got there brill straight our table we had a lovely bubbly waitress named Lauren nothing was a problem to her ! We both ordered the mixed grill everything was to die for ! Great place to go

Loved it , short notice booking on feb 14th , fab staff, not too pushy for takikg orders and just the right amount of service ( left alone but checked on a few times ) good prices for good food nice amount of food for price too will be going back

Just had a superb meal for my sons birthday. The staff are all excellent and the food was great. Very attentive waitress and management were just fantastic. The young man delivering our food had lovely customer service too.

Have visited before and not been impressed with the speed of service- Could not fault last night

We hadn’t booked but the gentleman on the reception quickly found us a table

Our waitress was really friendly and very attentive

She noticed when our drinks were getting low and nothing was too much trouble

I wish I took her name as would’ve happily named dropped! We were sat on the bench close to the service section looking straight at the table seating plan screen(if that helps to identify her-I think she said she has been married for 21 years)

We were standing there unattended too for about 10 minutes after one member of staff came over too us said "We will be with you shortly". Severely minutes later we were seated on the cushioned chairs by the window. The waitress asked us for drinks as she delivered the menu's and the drinks arrived pretty sharpish! We ordered and the food came in good time while we eat and watched the snow through the window. Apart from having a long wait on arrival we had a lovely family meal with lots of satisfied tums..

Table booked for lunch - seated promptly- friendly staff - great steak and triple cooked chips! And decent price on Daytime Saver Menu. Been few times and always pleasant 👍.

Had family lunch yesterday, the roast lamb was lovely. Food hot & hot plates, very busy but the service was good as well , nothing too much trouble, extra gravy in jugs as well !!! Also the mixed grill was good

1st visit here but a regular at Beefeater nationally. Chicken & Chorizo skewers are their best starter, was really tasty. However, Lamb rump is worst main - was expecting a single piece, a little pink inside instead of the chewy scraggs I was served last night. Pleasant staff.

Staff were great however food quality was sadly lacking. One meal had to be replaced as it was under cooked and the other, which was supposed to be a chicken caesar salad, was a bowl full of finely shredded, debatably romaine lettuce, about 6 croutons, barely detectable dressing and five pieces of Kentucky placed on top, and for the price I would have expected something a little less downmarket. We happened to visit on the launch night of a new menu so one would have assumed a special effort would be made in the kitchen, sadly this was not the case.

Had a booking for Sunday 25th March 2018. The initial waitress we had was good and took the order ok. She then brought our food to us and told us she was going on break and that somebody else would be taking care of us.

My beef and cheese suet pie was burnt and the pastry inedible but nobody came even close to our table for me to inform. I ate the rest and left that.

About 20 minutes after we finished somebody eventually came to our table. I told them ( and showed them) the burnt food and just got a "oh sorry " and that was it. Waited even longer to get our bill. We go often and was surprised with the lack of service today.

If we decide to go again and receive better service we will write another review.

26.11.17 we had table booked but was kept waiting for over 10 minutes at the door..All of our roasts were so dry and i asked for gravy that took so long to turn up that we ended up trying to finish the meal luke warm, the beef resembled a piece of steak that was cut up into chunks !...i wouldn't recommend a Sunday lunch here im afraid as you cant even make a Yorkshire pudding look edible...average at best but friendly and polite staff .

Use this restaurant on a regular basis as staying in local hotel. Last night has to go down as the worst possible service ever.

26.11.17 we had table booked but was kept waiting for over 10 minutes at the door..All of our roasts were so dry and i asked for gravy that took so long to turn up that we ended up trying to finish the meal luke warm, the beef resembled a piece of steak that was cut up into chunks !...i wouldn't recommend a Sunday lunch here im afraid as you cant even make a Yorkshire pudding look edible...average at best but friendly and polite staff .

Use this restaurant on a regular basis as staying in local hotel. Last night has to go down as the worst possible service ever.

After an hour I manage to attract the waitress who asks me if I’m all finished. When I tell her I’m still waiting for my curry she thinks I’m joking. She goes to check and 25 minutes later it finally arrives.

If it wasn’t for the fact that my company books the hotel and restaurant as a package, I wouldn’t eat here again

Shocking service. Arrived at 1515 for a quick meal. Served initially quite well. After mains had 25 minute wait before dessert was ordered 35 minute wait for a second drink. The place wasn't even busy and service was atrocious. God knows what it would be like if the place was busy. Food was just ok.

Wish I had gone to the Toby.

We had a very nice meal here last night, my husband and I had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and was very tender. My son and his wife both enjoyed their meals. The only disappointment we had was our grandsons meal which was the chicken curry, he found something in it which looked like raw chicken, the manager took it away and looked into it and said he was sure it was not chicken, was very apologetic knocked the meal off the bill and asked if he would like something else, he just had some chips.

Took my 2 energetic sons there this afternoon. They both loved their meals including desserts and one of the managers enertained several questions from them as they are both very inquisitive! Overall a good meal and quality time spent there with my boys �

Me and the missus booked a table for 1pm got there brill straight our table we had a lovely bubbly waitress named Lauren nothing was a problem to her ! We both ordered the mixed grill everything was to die for ! Great place to go

Loved it , short notice booking on feb 14th , fab staff, not too pushy for takikg orders and just the right amount of service ( left alone but checked on a few times ) good prices for good food nice amount of food for price too will be going back

Just had a superb meal for my sons birthday. The staff are all excellent and the food was great. Very attentive waitress and management were just fantastic. The young man delivering our food had lovely customer service too.

Had an enjoyable meal. Booked on line and table was ready when we got there. Service was swift and friendly steak and chicken cooked perfectly. Nice experience all round.

Had a party in the private room here for my son and the staff were so attentive and made the evening a pleasure. Thank you.

Have visited before and not been impressed with the speed of service- Could not fault last night

We hadn’t booked but the gentleman on the reception quickly found us a table

Our waitress was really friendly and very attentive

She noticed when our drinks were getting low and nothing was too much trouble

I wish I took her name as would’ve happily named dropped! We were sat on the bench close to the service section looking straight at the table seating plan screen(if that helps to identify her-I think she said she has been married for 21 years)

We went for a Sunday Afternoon meal at 3pm. We arrived at walked in to the main Welcome Desk. We were standing there unattended too for about 10 minutes after one member of staff came over too us said "We will be with you shortly". Severely minutes later we were seated on the cushioned chairs by the window. The waitress asked us for drinks as she delivered the menu's and the drinks arrived pretty sharpish! We ordered and the food came in good time while we eat and watched the snow through the window. Apart from having a long wait on arrival we had a lovely family meal with lots of satisfied tums..

Table booked for lunch - seated promptly- friendly staff - great steak and triple cooked chips! And decent price on Daytime Saver Menu. Been few times and always pleasant 👍.

Had family lunch yesterday, the roast lamb was lovely. Food hot & hot plates, very busy but the service was good as well , nothing too much trouble, extra gravy in jugs as well !!! Also the mixed grill was good

1st visit here but a regular at Beefeater nationally. Chicken & Chorizo skewers are their best starter, was really tasty. However, Lamb rump is worst main - was expecting a single piece, a little pink inside instead of the chewy scraggs I was served last night. Pleasant staff.

Staff were great however food quality was sadly lacking. One meal had to be replaced as it was under cooked and the other, which was supposed to be a chicken caesar salad, was a bowl full of finely shredded, debatably romaine lettuce, about 6 croutons, barely detectable dressing and five pieces of Kentucky placed on top, and for the price I would have expected something a little less downmarket. We happened to visit on the launch night of a new menu so one would have assumed a special effort would be made in the kitchen, sadly this was not the case.

Had a booking for Sunday 25th March 2018. The initial waitress we had was good and took the order ok. She then brought our food to us and told us she was going on break and that somebody else would be taking care of us.

My beef and cheese suet pie was burnt and the pastry inedible but nobody came even close to our table for me to inform. I ate the rest and left that.

About 20 minutes after we finished somebody eventually came to our table. I told them ( and showed them) the burnt food and just got a "oh sorry " and that was it. Waited even longer to get our bill. We go often and was surprised with the lack of service today.
