Tripped and spread my chicken curry over our kitchen floor..The gent delivering saw me, 2 minutes later, we received a 'phone call saying my meal will be replaced free of charge!! Good food, friendly folk.. Cheers!

Mum & me went for a xmas meal on the 19th December & I must say the meal was spot on fresh veg too & meat we had the starter too & a xmas pudding, there was plenty we were stuffed, will definitely go again,

Lovely warm cosy pub ,decor really nice and spotless clean toilets. Been here several times for breakfast and really nice and value for money. Staff all friendly. Only came in for one drink and we stayed quite a few hours. Definitely will be back

I decided to try the carvery today with my family. We were very impressed! It was well worth 2 for £10, we all cleared our plates. I would definitely recommend it �

Great little pub, town centre, tv s for sport, decent menu for lovely food at average prices. Friendly staff and helpful.

nice pub but too much people think that too packed out on saturday took forever to get served as bar staff my self i know service must be fast or more people should be on

Popped into Maypole on Saturday when the beer festival was on in the town. Had a snack and a few beers. Bar staff were friendly, snacks were done quickly and service was quick.

The pub itself is nice, clean etc but the real ale had turned, bar staff didnt know how long it had been on for but they were friendly, music was abit Wakefield Westgate for my liking

Readably priced food and drink. Comfortable. Spacious. However we sat eating and drinking for at least 2 hours and our large table (we had put together for 12 people) did not once get cleared so we sat with numerous empties and dirty plates for the duration of our stay.

Large town centre pub near the bus station and Ossett Town AFC, close to the precinct. Drinks a bit expensive and they do food with a carvery on Sunday's.

Why is it acceptable to let kids run riot round the the pub .yes kids are welcome but I don't welcome my time in the pub being spoilt by kids just running around and around I

My Wife and my self went into the Maypole Tuesday 6/12/2016, lunch time 12-05 pm,ordered two meals,steak pies one with mash one with chips ,the food arrived at 12-40 pm, the mash was cold, one steak pie was too burnt to eat the meat ,chips were not warm.

Last time we went int to the Maypole for dinner ,after waiting 3/4 hour for our food we went to the bar to enquiry where our meals were,only to be told ,O we have forgotten to order your meal from the kitchen,it will be a long time before we order food in there again.

Dump! Seats all ripped - disgrace to Ossett sell prosecco in wine glasses - is this what ossett has resorted to????

Well it's always been a bit hit and miss here but for the price and location, you deal with it.

Sometimes it's lovely, sometimes it's just OK.



Staff turnover here is ridiculous so there's no consistency.



Today at 12.40 (40 min after serving started) they only had Beef and Gammon available, the Turkey wasn't ready yet. Also no stuffing ready and only one gravy choice which was running out.



The beef was dry and chewy, the cauliflower cheese was overcooked and underseasoned mush, the Yorkshire pudding looked like it had been made on a baking tray instead of an actual pudding tin and the 'roast' potatoes were clearly deep fried and then roasted a little after.



Utterly dire.

This evening was ruined by over cooked food and apparently the only way to make a complaint about the standard of so called food we were served was to contact Jason on facebook well Jason we would appreciate it if you contact us we were treat appallingly in your pub which has no management staff and would like you to contact us asap

Since you took over the maypole this pub is shit and it is not down too your staff it is down to you.

Food was dry over cooked and deep fat fried don't order it from here
