This has the best Guinness outside of Ireland, is simply the best pub in Scarborough no fuss or frills it's simply itself

Good pub that serves food. The bar has an interesting range of whiskey from around the world. Live music some nights of the week as well as an open mind night.

Usually enjoy a visit to the Merchant but disappointed last Saturday. Two young girls behind the bar seemed to be having their own private party. Rap type music was cranked up each time a new track came on, whilst they danced around. We left. We had seats, good beer but the music was too much!

Great pub with a great atmosphere. The decor of the pub is lovely especially the old signs on the walls,the Guinness is superb👍

Great for drinks, has live music and huge collection of whisky from all around the world. Great atmosphere!

Great little bar. Great beer. Huge malt whisky selection if that's your thing. Can get very busy.

Good atmosphere watching The Rattlin Sheiks. Reasonable choice of beer but could do with more local craft beers. Down to earth, no frills, town centre pub with a pleasant buzz on a Friday evening. And great, live music.

Not been in this pub for about 20 odd years, when it was called the Jolly Roger. We have had a absolutely Fantastic Time. It's a Thursday night in November. The lads that's been playing Guitars and singing have been amazing. We are only here for a short break, and this pub has certainly made our holiday. Would recommend it to anyone.
