We've been coming to the mermaid now for 3 years running, it's so friendly, beautiful location, great pub food and dog friendly! Love it!

Was in there last week almost every day. It's a busy place at the weekend but midweek quick service from bar and food. The bbq pulled pork nachos were very moreish. Ate their twice and the food we had was delicious.

The food was lovely...great value for money and you get to sit and enjoy the gorgeous view.. what's not to love

The best burger!!! I don’t want to eat a burger anywhere else � they even let me get an extra portion of chilli on it and it was incredible� will recommend to anyone who wants a good burger!

Nice family pub, relaxed atmosphere. Huge portions of food, quick service and the best burgers we’ve had in a long time

Just been reading some of the reviews and have to say that we had a fantastic meal there on 21st July. Went in for my daughter's birthday, I had the gammon, wife had the steak and kids ate too, meals were very good and staff really friendly. Couldn't fault it.

Food was A* and good portions and the view was incredible. Best place for dinner or even just a drink. I return every time I’m down

Fab food, the Chicken Fajitas were amazing very large portion! The chicken fillet dishes were also very good and didn’t have to wait long for food even though it was quite busy!!! Just wonder if some people were at the same pub!

Didn’t eat, just a a few drinks in the day time but amazing location and staff were welcoming. Will definitely return just for the view

Very disappointed with the food this year, was as though it was microwaved. Past years we’ve loved it but this year it’s let us down.

After twenty plus years of visiting this pub for food , left really disappointed on Sunday , when my home cooked lasagne arrived at the table frozen in the middle ! No apology from the waitress just we will sort another one . Used to do the best curry and chilli for miles but now will take a lot to persuade me to try again

We waited for an hr and 20mins before the food arrived! They knew that was the wait but didn’t say anything! There were a lot of people after us I can only imagine what there wait was! Mushroom & hullumi burger, two massive mushrooms and a ridiculous amount of cheese, chips were cold. Kids meal choices weren’t right. Big Khahuna burger was ok. Terrible service. Expensive. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Waited an hour and a half for the worst food I've ever had in a pub! The fish was so burnt I could barely cut it. Sent it back and waited another 20 minutes to not get any food. Husband and son couldn't eat theirs either! Got a refund but now having to taxi into town to eat

The food here is disgusting. The kids mashed potato (false advertising actually as it wasn’t really mashed) had been microwaved within an inch of its life. All 5 of our meals where luke warm. I think my salad had been scraped off other customers plates & put on mine it was that limp & warm. Honestly take my advice & don’t eat here.

Lovely staff and venue but awful food I had hummus and I couldn’t eat it my friend ordered a jacket potato they didn’t put it on the order and we had all finishished before she even started the chips where amazing but the rest was very poor 😕 I would go back but I would only order the chips it was a family meal out my friend who is my daughters mum in law was just out of hospital and it was her first outing out after nearly dying so it was upsetting and disappointing

How the mighty have fallen. The food was always very good here. Not anymore though. The Lasagna came out cold, sent it back, 2 minutes later it returned piping hot, obviously microwaved. The meal had no taste, texture or consistency, just mushy microwaved dog food. We left nearly all of it, the taste was that bad. No mention when they took the full plates away, and no discussion about the outrageous price for warmed up dog food. You have lost mine and my families custom. Just to top it off, the toilets stank of urine. Absolute rubbish.

Far too many staff standing around doing nothing. Pub isn’t busy and I’ve been waiting 50 mins for my food. Burger and chips. Having worked in the industry I can’t understand how this place has turned into a shambles. Used to visit a lot, live up the road, but I’ll never come back. If I’m still waiting past an hour I’ll request a refund and go home for food.



Top tip...fire the under 25 year old staff who are useless and get some real staff with experience, customer service skills and manners.



Edit. Food arrived 52 mins. Burger and chips. It’s OK nothing special. Won’t return.

Booked a table for 7.30 pm for 6 people including children . Ordered food by 7.40 pm but had to wait 2 HOURS for the food to arrive!! We were warned of a max of an hours delay but that doubled!! Many other parties also waiting 2 hours and longer with small children being served their dinner up to 10 pm - disgraceful and never again!
