This is an excellent place for a bar meal. The food is always good, it is clean the staff give good service. I would recommend the Chicken Strips meal anytime

Whilst the venue itself is nice and certainly well placed, the service is poor to say the least, that paired with the tables and menus which really are horrifically unclean/sticky made for a slightly questionable experience to be honest.

Our meals took a metric age to arrive - rather unfortunate considering the usual quick service most Wetherspoons' have. Once the meals did actually arrive, one of them was totally incorrect and had to be sent back which unfortunately meant a close to 20 minute wait once again.
When the correct meal was brought, there was little by way of an apology (the manager wasn't to be seen) at all. Bearing in mind this visit was at three in the afternoon and that the place was otherwise fairly empty, I would have expected better service.

Even if you're not a picky person and you don't mind waiting a while, I think the least that can be expected of a restaurant, is that it offers you a clean menu and table and at a push an apology for when things go wrong.

This place is the king of disappointment and "meh". Everything is so nearly good, but just isn't. The chips are golden and beautiful looking, they look so inviting and tasty, you take your first bite and... it's warm, and not very crispy. The sausages look big and meaty, the reality they are processed and probably don't contain much pork. It's never bad, it's just a bit disappointing when the expectation is that far from the reality.

Excellent ale. Good meals and yummy deserts. Food, ale x2, wine x2 and deserts all for less than £30. Comfortable and atmospheric setting.

The lattes used to be nice and we visit here everytime we come to Kendal. The last few times it is just milky coffee and not a latte. Maybe we should find somewhere else in future

LARGE mixed grill + Sirloin steak + Bottle of wine = £19.99 ... absolute bargain in a nice atmosphere with top service.

Always a good visit. Good quality ale and good value fresh food. Staff lovely and friendly.

Restaurant & Bar, serving fairly reasonably priced pretty basic meals. Sadly it's not really got much ambiance due to the layout of the place,& the lighting. It seems to be popular for families, and the washroom facilities are clean and comfortable.

Great place to stop for breakfast, staff friendly and efficient. Plesent memories of previous visit with my son Richard before going off to do The Old Man a good start to going for a walk.
