Went on this canal cruise and 4 course lunch with a group....food beautiful served up by pleasant efficient staff..well worth it

Went here today with our ladies group, fourty six of us booked onto the cruise. We arrived early so purchased drinks beforehand. Once aboard we were treated to 2 1/2 hours of wonderful service.The staff were lovely ,chatting to us along the way. The food was delicious starter, sorbet, main meal, dessert followed by Coffee and a mint Chocolate all whilst moving along the canal. We even got to see some ducklings chase their mum too. Every member of the party gave very positive feedback, some had been before, others like myself it was their first time. Will definitely be returning with family and friends. Thank you for a really enjoyable day.

Went for my mum in laws 81st birthday with my sister in laws (there were 6 of us in total) From start to finish we had excellent service and food Absolutely loved the trip down the canal my first time on the boat Captain was very funny Price for experience and 3 course meal and coffee was very good We went back for drinks in the outside area at the front and sipped gins in the sunshine Only little gripe is the lack of nice gin glasses it was pot luck what you get always tastes nicer in a fancy glass but loved the day I will book for the boat again.

Goats cheese in parma ham was delicious, ribeye steak cooked and seasoned to perfection and that sticky toffee sponge was absolutely divine! All of the staff in the restaurant were extremely friendly and attentive and the service was fast. Would definitely recommend and return, thank you for everything!

Want to say a massive thank you to all the team at Mill Spa for making our weekend so special. With the help from all the team and the time and effort each staff member put in to the helping and surprising me and girlfriend got engaged! Couldnt of done it without them. Great hotel food was amazing rooms were clean and tidy couldnt fault it. Thanks to you all, we will be back!!!

Stayed last night for our anniversary . Check in was very efficient . Staff were lovely and friendly and explained everything very well at Reception . We got a free upgrade to business class , the room was nice the bed was fine but the pillows not too comfy The Spa was good but only small and quite busy so much so we couldnt get near the whirlpool bath the whole time we were there . The gym looked good but we didnt use it . The food in the Caneletto restaurant was fabulous and good value and the staff were friendly and attentive at both the evening meal and breakfast this morning. I would go back but maybe choose a different time to visit the Spa and also use the gym ( and bring my own pillow ) ��

Our third year staying at The Mill from Thursday to Sunday and twice on the Cruise. Absolutely lovely. Love Chester as well especially on the Tour Bus. Love the position of the hotel on the canal and a short walk into the town centre.

Just had a weekend with my sister what a great place the rooms lovely and clean, the staff polite and helpful went on the evening dinner on the barge the crew really friendly could have done with a bit of information from a guide while on board. The pool steam room sauna and jacuzzi very clean all in all had a great weekend and will def be returning

Faultless! Second time we’ve stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed both times. Room was perfect and spotlessly clean, large comfy bed and the shower was superb- didn’t want to get out of it! Every member of staff we had dealings with were a credit to the hotel, so polite and helpful. We ate in both restaurants and the food was lovely and portions generous, no complaints whatsoever, or with the service. Exactly the same with breakfast as well. We come to Chester quite often and will always stay in this hotel from now o, nothing but good experiences and happy memories. Keep it up!

A couple of our friends who live locally and dine at The Mill quite frequently ,suggested we went there for lunch yesterday. Well what can I say- it was absolutely amazing, the choice of food was good, all expertly cooked and beautifully presented and represented excellent value for money . We found the staff to be very friendly and most helpful. Our table was next to the window so we could watch the activity on the canal . We are back home now but cannot wait to return to The Mill. Thank you everyone for a really memorable and enjoyable visit.

Went for lunch as I had won a raffle prize of a meal for two. Food and service good, atmosphere a bit weird not helped by lounge music circa 1962 playing, definitely a rather old fashioned vibe about it.

I booked a room through Wotif. I received a budget room at a budget price, so it was fine. The inclusive breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed a drink in the bar the previous evening and a light meal, which was very acceptable. The bar staff and wait staff here are friendly and efficient

Hotel and Staff were great, the bar had a great selection of Real Ales and the food was tasty too. Enjoyed all the facilities. Location was spot on for the City Centre. My only minor gripe was that our particular room was a little on the small side. Would defo recommend it to folk wishing to visit Chester.

Been here one night so far quite impressed. Room good, clean tidy and big enough. Nice 10minute walk along canal to city centre passing several good pubs. Stayed for dinner in Canaletto Restaurant in hotel for fabulous 3 course dinner at £23 each! Spa is good albeit a tad small. Could do with sunbeds around pool rather than uncomfortable garden chairs. At times spa gets a bit noisy with kids, but bearable if one glares at parents! Definitely a great place to stay.

We booked a room for four adults which cost us £176

A night when we got there it wasn’t made up and it was just a ordinary room with a put you up bed one bed was literally on the floor poor value for money

For price we paid it wasn't what we expected.

Originally planned to go on Afternoon Tea on barge but we're told with week left to go before we checked in they wasn't enough bookings so barge wouldn't be leaving (which I could accept) but on day off being there I received a call in my bedroom after 4 saying barge was about to leave, my partner was bissy so we didn't even have time to rush down and get on board. I was told at reception that I should had checked day before about the bookings on barge (which I didn't know I was meant too)



I'm really disappointed as I had something special planned to do on the barge for my partner needless to say I now missed that moment.

Also breakfast I just like to mention one of staff (I'm not sure if Head Waiter) gentlemen dressed in black we found rude with customers .



We had planned on booking Xmas or possibly new year at the hotel with several friends unfortunately first impressions count in this industry .
