🌈 Help us create a rainbow for our window at The Mill! 🌈
We want to fill our front window with a rainbow made with colourful hands.
Everyone can take part, here’s how:
... 1. Draw round your hand on a piece of paper
2. Cut it out
3. Decorate it with one of the colours of the rainbow
4. Send it to us. You can:
a) Put it through our letterbox
b) Post it to us at: Rainbow Hands The Mill 7-11 Coppermill Lane London E17 7HA
c) Send us digital art work to comms@TheMillE17.org – digital art must be in a hand shape, and suitable to be printed at A4 size.
We will add your hand prints to our window display to make a rainbow!

Here's this week's Sunday Get Drawing prompts and tips from David for #TheMillOnline
1. Find a small mirror and put an object in front of it, and draw both the object and its reflection. 2. Cutlery - knives, forks, spoons, a cork screw if you have one. Arrange them carelessly…. 3 A pair of glasses or sunglasses.
... This week, why not try drawing in a medium you rarely use, just to make things a little more difficult for yourself... Happy drawing!
And don't forget to share your results!

Here are today's drawing prompts for #TheMillOnline, with a few tips for David from our Get Drawing group:
1. some vegetables, some whole, some cut in half. 2. A plate of half eaten food . 3. An opened tin of paint and a paint brush.
... Remember to start by lightly drawing the main shapes before you begin to work on details. Its like writing a play: you have to start with the plot - a rough outline of everything that is going to happen, before you can write the dialogue - which is the details and shading in your drawing.
Don't forget to share your results!

Sunday Drawing at the Mill: Until we can get back to meeting face to face for our Sunday Get Drawing group. David will be sharing three suggestions each week for things you can find at home that would make good subjects for a drawing.
This week try one of these :
1 Tooth brushes, tooth paste and a water glass. ... 2 Cakes and biscuits. 3 Some kitchen tools.
Work in a sketch book if you have one, but you can draw perfectly well on plain printer paper, too. Most important, unless your drawing is rather small, find something to use as a drawing board, -like a tray, or a large book, so you can make your drawing at the best angle ( which should be about 45 degrees). Try a bit of colour, too - just adding one colour, with a coloured pencil, can give your drawing a little more impact. #TheMillOnline
