A musical duo whose album featured in the Rolling Stone 500 greatest albums book are bringing their talent to Malton. Boo Hewerdine and Darden Smith will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their album, Evidence, with a special concert in the Milton Rooms on June 11. The album, a potent mix of Americana and Ukana, received rave reviews at the time, later earning it recognition from the Rolling Stone. The charity birthday show on Sunday, June 2, will see the duo raise money for Freddie's Fight.

If you like your music fast and furious then Manière des Bohémiens is definitely for you. The Gypsy Jazz and Eastern European swing band wowed @theMiltonRooms on their last visit to Malton last year and are back by popular demand on April 27! This is a band which has been entertaining the folks in their home town of Nottingham for many years, also supporting Jools Holland and featuring on BBC Radio 6 on too many occasions to count. excellent night last night at the Jaleo flamenco dance extravaganza. it was a spectacular display of vocal excellence , armography ( the use of the fan and scarf to illustrate the bull , was mesmerising ) we must have them back next year.

Thnx again to all you lovely people we've met at the festival in the Milton Rooms ! A great venue with splendid public, a fine organization and not to forget the great soundguys ,Jeremy and Phil !

Hope to see you all again next time ...

Grrrrrrrrtzzzzzz from The Good Ol' Boys ! ��

This was our first, but definitely not our last, visit. Having bought the tickets online we were struggling to find the email of confirmation, but the young lady at the door, Vicki I think her name was, could not have been more friendly or more helpful. She had a record of the name for each booking. We enjoyed the performance very much.

The set up in the hall was especially relaxed, sitting around tables so that you spoke to strangers you shared with, and could deal with drinks easily.

The Milton Rooms is the perfect venue for our Cajun & Zydeco Festival where there is plenty of great live music, lots dancing on the wonderful sprung floor, eating and drinking in comfort in the main hall or Cafe Bar. However to be completely perfect the gents toilets really do need attention!

Superb staff and venue!

I can't say enough good things about the Milton Rooms, the staff are wonderful, some of whom being good friends of ours now. Tom Townsend's gig last night was a fittingly brilliant finale to his tour, thanks to the brilliantly run venue, the crowd who'd filled the place, and of course the phenomenal band themselves. Roll on the next gig here!

Great venue, lovely acoustically and atmospherically!

Fantastic night with Chris Berry singing his heart out. Chris really is a "must see" performer and he keeps your feet tapping as well as joining in with his songs. Really brilliant night out. The Milton Rooms was the perfect venue for the event.

Fabulous evening with the Tom Townsend Band. Great venue, efficiently run by lovely people, looking forward to returning again soon.

Excellent venue especially as they have started to host Ryedale Blues Club.

Absolutely brilliant first night performance of Jack and the Beanstalk. Well done everyone you've all worked really hard.
