Really enjoyed my 2 nights at the Moorcock inn, great ervice from start to finish. Staff are friendly and helpful , food and beer are great and the bedrooms are well equipped for a good nights sleep. Looking forward to next time.

Welcoming staff on arrival was shown to my room (budget single room) was clean and welcoming on entering. As the name suggests this room was smaller than the average room I've stayed in but was perfectly adequate for my needs. Has lots of choice of tea, coffees, even hot chocolate sashet provided with the tea making facilities. Bed was clean and fresh only downside I can say about the bed is it ideally could do with a new mattress as I was a bit lumpy but wasn't so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep. Food wise it's all fresh had a special of game pie never had a pie so big was all home made with fresh meat . Dessert were good as well. Bar wise they had a decent selection of local ales as well as the general largers and spirits. Breakfasts are provided in the cost of the room and they were freshly cooked to order and really great. During our stay we Decided to catch one of the local bus services outside of the pub. And then after waiting 20 mins after the bus time a member of staff came out the pub and said he'd rung the bus company to see where it was and found out they weren't running due to the train strikes ( Garsdale station is only 1mile away from the pub) and said that he's booked the bus to come and pick us up specialally which was very kind of him. Overall I really highly recommend this place to stay if you wanting to walk in the dales or just have a rural place to stay when visiting other areas. Cant wait to go back next year keep up the good work

Great value B+B with simple but filling menu available each day until 8pm. Being a free house, they have a decent range of Yorkshire Ales on the bar at very fair prices considering how far they have to transport. Staff were very friendly and polite although being a country inn, a little disorganised sometimes - you just have to be patient, it's all worth waiting for! Superb local walks so you can leave the car/bike at the Inn and drink into the evening when you get back.

Loved my stay here, my room was surprisingly spacious and very clean, the staff were lovely and the area is remote but beautiful!

really has improved much more open and light area in the bar. unfortunately did not get to have lunch here but what I saw coming out look great. if passing by you need to stop and have a drink.

Great dog friendly place to eat and drink and feel welcome. Food is also great pub grub and good value.

Recently renovated by new owners. The remodelled interior is clean and welcoming. The food was decently priced and prepared well. Great selection of local ales too.
