Thank you to everyone who turned up at the new on2 classes Todo Latino with The Movement Academy, for latin Collective. Unfortunately Mondays at Vinyl Bar are now closed however The new Bar Salsa on Tuesday was fantastic great to see so many of you there . Classes begin at 7.30pm , levels available are on2 conversation for those who are at an intermediate or above salsa level On1 wanting to learn the differences and why we love dancing On2 so much to add to their skill set; and intermediate/ adv levels . Classes begin at 7.30pm with shines at two levels a basic level and an intermediate level , then two levels of partner work an improvers level and an inter/adv class level.

Thank you to everyone who supported our workshops at The London latinfest. Andrea taught an amazing afro mambo workshop which was so much fun, and Alandale and angelique a beginners On2 class. We really appreciate all your support for the love of dancing On2 salsa

... Our workshops are suitable for all levels, whether you are a beginner or more advanced student. Below is a reminder of our programme:-
12:30 – 13:00 : DOORS OPEN AND REGISTRATION
13:00 - 14:00 : WARM UP / BODY ISOLATIONS
14:00 - 15:00 : SALSA ON2 FOOTWORK – consisting of two classes, one suitable for beginners/improvers and 2nd class suitable for intermediate/advanced dancers.
15:00 -16:00 : PARTNER WORK
16:00-17:00 – MUSICALITY WITH MOVEMENT
17:00 - 18:00 - BUFFET AND SOCIAL DANCING
Price of entry includes food which will be available at the end of the workshop. We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor after the workshop!

Today, get to know about Andrea Stewart who is part of the Movement Academy and will be teaching on Sunday 9th July.
After a long break Andrea Stewart is back with a newly formed group ‘Mileydis’ (My Ladies). Andrea has been teaching and performing Salsa for over 20 years in the UK and also in Salsa Congresses and schools all over Europe.
Andrea lists her teachers and mentors as Mauricio Reyes, Jayson Molina, Descarga Latina and Santo Rico and lists her heroes’ and influence...s as Juan Matos, Felipe Polanco, Tania Santiago, Eddie Torres, Hache y Machete, Franklin Diaz, Tito and Tamara, the one and only Jhesus Aponte, Maykel Font, Osbanis Tejeda, Lazaro Lopez, Yanet Fuentes, Rafael de Busto and Delia Madera.
Andrea loves combining her feminine style with Cuban, Mambo and Afro onto the dance floor and stage. She is known as strong, feminine and bold and original.
Andrea was the founder, Director and Choreographer of one of the UK’s most formidable all female dance teams Duende and her mixed team Oro Negro.

• Angelique is originally from Cardiff, Wales
... • She has been dancing over 35 years and has attained 2 Associate Degrees in Dance, Modern and Freestyle
• Angelique has been dancing Salsa for over 13 years and teaches regularly in Bar Salsa every Monday . She has run a Ladies performance team - Seraphim Dance since 2005
• Angelique’s favour colour is white
• Lilies are her favour flowers cause they smell so good
• She loves dogs as she believes they are loyal and faithful
• Other than dance, she is interested in religion and what people perceive life is all about, she believes religions all mean to serve us as a guide to do good in the world and this would be the main point of being religious to never harm but to help others.
• Angelique said she would probably not be dancing salsa if it was not for Susanna Montero who was her initial Mentor, her style was also influenced by attending classes by Eddie Torres in NYC

It’s time to get to know your teachers in the Movement Academy ready for our workshop on Sunday 9th July.
So, each day we will present to you one teacher with some interesting facts, so first Tarek Demerdash.
Tarek Demerdash was one of the earliest pioneers of Salsa cross body style in Sydney, Australia and was an instrumental force in developing the style internationally.... Teaching for and performing in the professional team of Latin Motion Academy, led and mentored by Oliver Pineda. Tarek has worked and taught for some of the largest dance schools in Australia, including Hot Feet Dance Company. Tarek has taught at the Sydney International Congress and the Brisbane Latin Festival. He is a firm believer in fundamentals of dance and technique and attention to detail. Tarek founded the famous Mambo Lounge, Sydney’s first and exclusive dedicated on2 dance school.
He has taught and represented Salsa throughout Europe, USA and the Middle East, Dublin, Budapest and Abu Dhabi. Tarek now resides in the UK teaching for various promoters throughout the UK and in addition is now a resident teacher at SOS.

Here's a little more info about Alandale:
... Alandale caught the Salsa bug in 2004 and started learning Cuban style and quickly proceeded to learn crossbody style On1 and then On2. Super Mario, Alexander Amaroso, Special Tee and Don Jones are the teachers that had a major impact on Alandale’s dancing.
Alandale started teaching in 2013 and has taught for some of the best schools in London; Salsa Tropical, Caramelo Latin Dance, TNT Dance, Mambo City and a guest teacher for Salsamixart’Danse (Paris).
Well respected and liked Alandale has a strong following for his weekly Sunday Mambo class in London. He is deeply passionate about Mambo but is also partial to the occasional Cha Cha Cha.
