What find! Looks nothing from the outside but from the moment you walk in and set the sensors off and the gulls start crying you cannot fail to be impressed. Inside is another world of three different themed

'restaurants'. The menu is so extensive and it's difficult to decide what to eat - but that would be my only 'complaint' we had lunch and couldn't fault the service or the foid and would definitely go again.

What a wonderful Christmas Day!!!! 7 absolutely beautiful courses of top notch food. It was absolutely ram packed full and I am not surprised based on what we were served. All the staff were incredibly happy considering they had given us their family christmas’ so ours was amazing.

Thank to all involved. Hope you all managed to get some down time eventually!!

What a great afternoon 13 of us enjoyed for my wife Elaine's 60th birthday yesterday.

All of us enjoyed a wonderful selection of food having taken a long time to make our choices from the very extensive menu. Although quite expensive I guess you get what you pay for! Also a great laugh with Elaine getting the lifeboat!!

This was only our 2nd visit & wont be our last.

We visited for the first time last night for my birthday and it didn't disappoint. The food was lovely the rustic bread selection with the oils and garlic was fantastic. We both had different mussel dishes to start with and for mains I had the crab thermador and my husband had the turbot. The staff were very attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely be calling again.

We haven't been able to get over for a while . We are so glad we booked again a truly special place everything from the food /service / cleanness are 1000% perfect massive thanks to all the staff and of course chef and Bruce for our extremely special valentine's evening.

We go a lot! The food is consistently of fabulous quality and we love it!! . The staff are very friendly and the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food! I actually asked my wife to marry me here, and its our 'special' place!! Just lovely in every way! Thanks!!

I've just been on my 2nd visit with my husband's family & both times the food & service has been exceptional. And as there is a children's menu & a couple of steak dishes ( for a fish hater) I will be returning with my daughter & family very soon

I love This place.. we’ve been coming for many years now. The crab chowder is my all time favourite soup. I had lobster Thermidor and My husband had crispy belly pork. Both were outstanding. Rustic bread went down a treat as did the wine! I can’t wait to return!

Had a fabulous evening for my Wife’s birthday. The food was excellent, we both had different mussel starters which were fantastic. We also had the rustic breads with olives, caramelised garlic & tomatoes.

The mains were also fabulous, crab thermidor & fillet of turbot.

The staff were very attentive without being overbearing.

Will definitely be going back �

First time visiting last night. Food and service absolutely great. Will be coming again. Only down side is 30 miles from where I live. Perhaps you can open another one nearer Grantham?

First time me and my husband have been to The Mussel and Crab . We came on valentines eve . Absolutely loved it , lovely warm welcome and although I’m not a great fish lover there was plenty of other choice either vegetarian or meat . My husband had seafood pancake and crab Thermidor . Will definitely be coming to this lovely restaurant again:-) lovely 😀

Fabulous evening from start to finish , the young man who took our order was extremely welcoming and his customer service skills exceptional ( he was the the son of the lady who took our payment at the end of the meal, cause she told us so ) The atmosphere is very relaxed , you never feel rushed . The food was piping hot and delicious tasting, if you haven’t been been to the Mussel & Crab then you need to take the trip . Thanks so much for an enjoyable evening.

Absolutely amazingly brilliant throughout every aspect. Best food and service we’ve had in a surprise place. It must be tried, highly recomend

We met as a family that is scattered around Notts and Lincs mainly as the Mussel and Crab was conveniently located for us but also due to its great reputation. Sunday lunchtime. There were so many dishes to choose from. We all had different dishes; salmon, sea bass, monkfish, roast beef and vegetarian lasagne. Served in about 25 minutes, on very warm plates with delicious vegetables..new potatoes, carrot batons, broccoli in cheese sauce, peas & red cabbage. We then chose trio of desserts, Creme brûlée (my favourite), ice cream and chocolate brownie. Prompt and friendly service and we will certainly return.

My husband & I went for a meal last night, mine was lovely but my husband was being sick at 3am he had the sea bream, I think it was pricey to

"We don't allow hats in here" barked the bar keep.

The service here is weird to say the least. After the first chap explained the eclectic menu we were left without a table just looking stupid by the bar. We took the nearest table and decided to order. As there was no one in the area I stood up to order from from the bar. A lady then came out and told me to sit back down at my table to be served. She took my food order went and poured the drinks then left them on the bar. So I had to stand up again to get my drinks.



I don't ask for much. "A large bowl of chowder with some bread and a small glass of Rioja please"



We ordered.



The bread was that partially baked plastic wrapped utterly inedible rubbish you get from costco. I can only describe the chowder as "side order size" with garnish of veg (which looked like it was from another side order) chopped up with a creamy can of heinze chowder soup.



I hope the rest of the menu serves the locals better and with a chateaux la tour 1954 at £2500 on the menu this place has high aspirations.



At the end the weird service continued. Asking for the bill I was told to go to reception to pay. Strange feeling indeed in the queue stood behind an elderly lady with a walker in the same predicament.



Left feeling a bit sick from the chowder, (didn't eat the bread) very disappointed and looking for the nearest National Trust to get cake.
