Good Morning All, . Quick update and heads up, . Firstly thanks to all of you who made yesterday a great day, ... The shine shone all day and despite the windy & gusty conditions we feel it was successful first day on a brand new site. . Whilst the wind brings its challenges for us there is no hiding from the weather forecast today with more wind and the we stuff that some have been praying for coming today !!??!! If it was going to be hot we'd gladly remind you to bring hats for kids and sunscreen so it is with regret we are advising you today to prepare for the wet! . With regret and Like yesterday, our Kidzone will be subject to risk assessment and if too windy and/or wet will not be open. Our inflatable attractions cannot go up with winds over 20mph and our wind monitor sat around 21 for mist of the day yesterday. . Some of our small stalls & vendors were wind battered yesterday and will not be prepared for another day so may not be able to feature today. . We also had a call in the early hours to say the Little Mix tribute Little Mix had cancelled due to the lead singer (and driver) falling ill. . We have spent this morning trying to replace them and have found an amazing BEYONCE tribute* Re-Yonce: A Tribute To Beyoncè. She is travelling to us from WALES so is on route now after finding out only 30 minutes ago! Upmost Respect to her for that! . We will try our best to adjust the set times and the performances around the weather . We've been blessed with the weather for our events over the last 3 years but it looks like todays the day its run out . We'd also like to thank our hard working team, and volunteers who work long hours , it will be a tough day for them today so so we thank you in advance for your patience & understanding during such testing times.. . Fingers crossed and hope to see you soon, . The Nearly Festival . https://www.facebook.com/reyoncetribute/v ideos/2383574528535599/ . RE-YONCÉ . From her debut as the star of Destiny's Child in the 90s to her endless run of solo hits, Beyoncé Knowles is rightly seen as the worlds foremost pop, soul and RnB diva. A voice that is instantly recognised for it’s pure, soulful power, a "bootylicious" look that just sizzles and not to mention her incredible dancing, who could possibly take on such a role as a tribute artiste? . From the second she hits the stage and starts to sing you'll know you are watching a performance of great talent. Super cool and effortlessly commanding, her voice is so close, it leaves people stunned! A gorgeous, powerful stage presence and this girl can dance - REALLY DANCE. Couple this with her awesome dancers, this show is one of the finest, most action packed tributes available anywhere. Victoria is not only an amazing talent in her own right, but as Beyoncé, she is in a league of her own . A truly unrivaled tribute to the mega star.

User

What a good event thank you

User

Went to bury st Edmunds festival this year and last year. Loved it!! So happy the bouncy castles were free, it's all my children were really interested in. (Due to their ages) Brought bubble guns food and drink. All great be back next year for another weekend! Staff were lovely and helpful.

User

Went last year for the first time! It was a fantastic day! Really looking forward to this year.

User

Went last year and this year. Fab music, staff, well organised and excellent security. Definately a must for next year. Lovely fun, relaxing day.

User

We went on the Sunday with a 7-year-old and small baby in tow and had a great time! Bands were great (Oasis finishing with Don't Look Back in Anger in tribute to Manchester and London was met with a mass singalong) - and there was lots of space and activities for the kids to run around. Loved the variety of food on offer, and we could live with the drinks prices. What I really liked was that litter picking was going on all day and the loos were kept clean and stocked with paper and hand sanitiser - it was much appreciated that the staff wanted to keep the site nice for everyone. We'll definitely be back next year.

User

We had a really great day, great for families too

User

We had a fantastic weekend! My sons birthday was made special when he got a shout out

Lots for the children to do to keep them occupied so we can dance and sing along to the amazing tribute acts. Reasonably priced food/drink and staff were friendly. Toilets were best I've used at a festival as well. Can't wait for next year!!! Well done to organisers

User

We had a fantastic weekend in Norwich, made our little boy Billy dreams come true signing on stage with Bob Marley

User

We all had a great time Defiantly going to the Colchester event .

User

Was fantastic all the acts was great. Really good day out all the staff and security was friendly and helpful kids zone was good to see kids having different things to do. Definitely going to go next year and bring more people with us

User

Was at Bury St Edmunds fest this year, was absolutely brilliant! Literally couldn't fault a thing. Every single act was amazing, good range of food, toilets always cleaned and stocked, great things for kids to do. Can't wait for next year!

User

Visited sunday was lovely day drinks prices were as promised pub prices, food was good would have liked to taken some nibbles in, after all it is a public park , I agree with an earlier comment the acts were not broken up very well other than that we had a great time , will deffo go next year, especially if I can bring me nibbles!!!!

User

Very family friendly. Play areas for kids cost on drinks for kids his like for like so not interested in profits on their pocket money free entry as well for kids ... so responsibly solely on the adults to behave too and with multiple genre live music, street style food, no later than a 9:30 pm finish and fair ticket price what’s not to like? Successful brand of personally local festivals.. I’ve not missed one yet some genres better than others obviously. No I don’t work for them I’m a professional audience that goes to gigs and festivals! X

User

So nice to go to a festival for a fraction of the price but just as fun and full of talented bands/singers

User

Really good there we had great fun and kids had good time nice family festival and free stuff there is great for kids cheers for good day love it

User

Really enjoyed playing here. The audience was great and the organisers were wonderful! Thank you guys! The bands we've seen here were all brilliant!

User

Perfect for families, I have a 3 and 8 year old and they both loved it. Everyone so friendly and helpful. Acts were all really good! A nice range of food stalls that were delicious. My 8 year old loved the dance mat but not so much being beaten at it by mummy. Great time had by all x x

User

Me and my partner came to the Nearly Festival yesterday for the first time, as we saw it advertised in the Abbey Gardens a few weeks ago, and thought that sounds good let's give it a try. When we got there, the nearly festival crew were friendly and welcoming and got us in quickly, the security were on the ball, checking through people's bags and scanning people, which helped us to become reassured after previous incidents in the UK. Throughout the festival, we saw security guards walking around the venue and at each exit which also helped us to feel more relaxed and reassured. The music was fantastic, the tributes were really good and looked exactly like who they were supposed to. The weather was lovely and hot, the service for drinks and ice cream were prompt and the staff were very friendly. We would defiantly recommend to others and will definatly be coming back to another festival sometime so thank you.

User

Great weekend for all the family .. Well done !

User

Great family festival. We had an excellent time

User

Fun to be had (and was had ) for all the family roll on next year :)

User

First timer and what a terrific organised event. Firstly the toilets where not only clean but constantly kept clean through the event with plenty of toilet roll and sanitiser.

The bar area was also very organised and not much queuing. Plenty of food choices and as promised reasonable prices.

Great for families and good kids area.

The acts where Great and not much waiting time in between acts.

Very good organised event highly recommended and will be going again next year .

User

First time I've attended a Nearly Festival event, it was absolutely fantastic.... these bands were truly spot on. I even got to have a sing along with Amy Winehouse. Thanks to all involved for a brilliant day xx

User

First festival I've been to went with the family and won't be the last..

Around brilliant experience..

Would like to have seen a few different tributes but couldn't knock the ones we saw..

Entertainment for kids great hardly saw our kids 🤗

Only issue we got asked to lower our tent because people sat directly behind instead of to the side..

Looking forward to next years!! Colchester

Even caught a suntan 😪😪

User

Fantastic time on Saturday. Really well organised and the kids zone went down a treat. The bands were great, the atmosphere was amazing, selection of food stalls was also good. Well done to everyone involved

User

Fab family festival in the beautiful setting of Bury St Edmund's Abbey Gardens with a great atmosphere. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. My children loved the Kids Zone-where most of the activities were free- and we were very impressed with the prices of the childrens' drinks, especially as it was such a hot day. Providing suncream for the children and deodorant by the toilets were a thoughtful touch! A brilliant day out, enjoyed by us all, and highly recommended.

User

Fab day. Thanks

User

Fab day ! Music was great , all the acts were brilliant , food and drinks not too over-priced , plenty of activities for little ones if you had them , lovely atmosphere, really good day had by all - we will definitely be returning next year 😊

User

Drinks being searched in bags but no pat down.. good luck!

User

Brilliant time had last year! The sun shone, the cider flowed and the music was amazing! A great festival atmosphere on our doorstep! Can't wait to get tickets for this year!

User

Brilliant event, perfectly organised, friendly staff, fabulous acts, good food, loads of activities for kids and disabled folks made sooooo welcome . A truely wonderful weekend experience for all ages. Looking forward to next year. Well done to Danny and his team for the Abbey Gardens event at Bury St Edmunds Xx

User

Brilliant day out,

Loved all acts but Amy Winehouse tribute is letting the side down she was so bad,

She didn't sing one song just shouted to the audience and was very out of time 🙈

User

Brilliant day at chaplefield park yesterday, the acts were brilliant, olly murrs ( aka Essex lad named Ryan) absolutely outstanding he could have easily been the headliner main act, fantastic show from beginning to end, from the cleanliness of the ladies Loo's to the fantastic job of the litter pickers, and because I'm on lots of meds and could only drink water that was free for 3 hours, after that only 50p a bottle, didn't eat much food wise due to not being hungry but didn't hear hubby complain about it, reasonably priced alcohol too, thanks again to olly murrs ( aka Ryan from Essex) for helping to make it such a fantastic day love to you all

User

Amazing day today and scorchio thank you Nearly Festival for the hospitality we were very well looked after.

The team backstage we applaud you nice tight team

Big thanks From Le Freak

User

Absolutely fantastic family friendly festival! From really great acts, super clean toilets and great selection of stalls right through to the brilliant kids corner we couldn't praise it enough! The free bouncy castles and tennis was a huge hit with the kids in our group, and there was plenty of fab music to keep the adults entertained too! Thanks for a brilliant time, we will definitely be back next year!

User

Really enjoyed it but was let down by the fact that the specials and madness followed each other and it was same band doing both tributes. Might have been good to split the timings also same with oasis and stone roses.

User

Enjoyed the afternoon/evening. It was great fun

We where there on Sunday. With some great acts and some ok ones and adjustments to the schedule it was never dull! Have to agree with others that the bar was probably town pub prices as they were a bit on the pricey side. Food was good value and toilet facilities where well maintained. We were an adults only group so I can't talk about the children's area's but most kids seemed to be having a good time. We will be going next year. Please hope for good weather again.

User

Was a good atmosphere some good tribute acts, waiting an hour for an alcoholic drink though was ridiculous and some false advertising 5quid for 1 drink is not pub prices.. and no one was aloud to bring there own drink yet later in the day I saw plenty of people bring in cans of there own drink! Alot for kids stuff to do, not much for free like it said on the website/flyer.

Really enjoyed it but was let down by the fact that the specials and madness followed each other and it was same band doing both tributes. Might have been good to split the timings also same with oasis and stone roses.
