Very nice friendly pub. Food VG however I had faggots and peas and one of the faggots was not very nice as it was like concrete on the outside and very hard to cut. I complained but there was no response from the kitchen.. But three out of four meals was excellent and I would definitely go back there again, In a beautiful setting alongside a Canal lock and lovely walks in the area

There was no scrum at the bar, always in the front row for service. The food was fantastic and loads to tackle. This a pub that you shouldnŌĆÖt wing passed, as there are no (fly)half measures. Served by up and coming womenŌĆÖs rugby player btw. Absolutely fantastic, a must for all passing either by boat or car.

Stopped here in the early 90's and found it a very friendly pub .. so was passing and stopped off to see how it was now . wasn't disappointed, lovely pint of real ale, friendly , and a lovely meal at an affordable price .a little gem .cheers ..

Only place to visit for Sunday lunch. Piping hot food, large portions and hot plates. Service is great and on a warm day it is lovely to sit by the canal. Been here so many times I think we have tried everything on the menu and never had one complaint.

18 of us went for my 40th birthday celebration also. Was made to feel very welcome and all the food came out at the same time and was lovely.

My Scout group were hiring a canal boat for the weekend over the 1-3rd September. On the Saturday afternoon we discovered all the gas bottles were empty! Forced to buy food at a restaurant instead of cooking the ingredients we had already bought, we contacted The New Inn. They said they would help us out, although there was only space outside. This was no problem since we all wanted to eat - and eat we did. Each of the 11 meals were of a good size and excellent quality; everyone was very happy with their food. The best bit? We got 11 meals for ┬Ż100.60 (excluding drinks).



Summary: 11 quality meals in good portions for ┬Ż100.60. Excellent on every front! I will be returning :)

Lovely meal again. Could hardly find a seat. Perhaps a more mature person in the bar would help the young ones.

Lovely local pub live on our narrowboat not far away. Tina is always a star on Thursdays xx

Lovely friendly staff, very nice atmosphere and decoration. Right next to the locks and canal so it's lovely to sit out in the sun and watch the boats go by. Hot food is really nice. Never had a problem with any of the meals compared to some other well known chains! It's become our regular pub now.

Just had the best Sunday roast beef dinner ever. Large portions, wonderful quality, friendly helpful staff, a real find! Still tasting that wonderful roast beef...mmm! Thanks everyone at the New Inn - we'll be back!

Great location & tasty food reasonably priced. A must if youŌĆÖre passing by ...

First time me and my husband have visited the new inn for a roast dinner. We go out for roast dinner a lot of the time. This was one of the best roast dinners I've had. I even cleared all my plate. Witch isn't like me at all. The food was very tasty and everything was hot and cooked lovely. Definitely will be coming back.

Fabulous place with great views and a lot of history. Food is lovely and staff too.

After passing this pub for many years and promising my self a visit one time I was very upset a few years back to find it closed down. We noticed it was open on Sunday so we decided to stop for lunch. The barmaid almost put us off by saying they had a lot of people booked for 1.00am. Luckily we took our chance and had one of the best Sunday lunches in a long time. Every thing was perfect from the beef to the piping hot vegetables. strangely we didn't notice any other customers arriving. Nice walk afterwards along the canal before our trip home.

Meet here once a month with friends. My wife only wanted a starter to be brought out with the main meal and was told quite clearly that that was impossible? The reason being is that was the clear instruction from the chef that they bring starters out first followed by the main course. My wife ordered a main meal so she could eat with the rest of us and only ate a quarter of it. Not very good attitude and need to be more adaptable to customers needs. Whoever is the landlord needs to have a word or even change the chef.

Bit of a disappointment to report today pub wise. Met up with relies from Australia for lunch, they fly home tonight so hoped for a good experience at a pub we have enjoyed before. So, met at 'The New Inn', top of Long Buckby flight, on the GU, just south of junction with the Leicester Line of the GU. Drinks ordered, chose meals and ordered, to find later that my wife's starter order, which was required to come out with the mains as she only has a small appetite, had to come out first, followed by our mains when she had finished! Not happy as it is not difficult, even at a busy service to meet the requested. No reason was given, just told it was 'policy'. Asked to speak to the chef, refused to speak and said, via the bar person " If you don't want the starter the money will be refunded". Wrong answer! Result was, we waited some 45 minutes for the starter and near another half hour for the mains to follow. The food was fine, but unfortunately the attitude was poor, with no idea on customer service. We were not alone in this as another table was treated just as poorly. In fairness to the front of house staff, one bar person also waiting table, they were greatly understaffed on what was forecast days ago to be a warm and potentially busy lunchtime. My advice is to stop either at Braunston, Stowe Hill, or Bugbrooke and give this place a miss, as will we.
