We stayed at the New Market Inn with family. I had been told they were very good at getting in special items if requested and they did so, even while temporarily short staffed. They catered for my husband who must eat gluten free and made a special trip to the shops to get a special drink for my Dad.



Most importantly, they are some of the kindest people I have ever met. My Dad became very unwell due to a pre-existing condition, whilst staying there and they allowed him a later clock out time at no extra fee so he could lie down while waiting for a taxi. When the taxi driver arrived to wait for my Dad they gave the driver a drink and wouldn't let me pay for it.



When we realised Dad would need to be taken to hospital they said they would hold the room an extra night so if Mum and Dad or just one of them needed to come back to it they would be able to. They refused to take any money for the extra night and said that they were just treating others how they would like to be treated.



They are comforting and kind and I hope everyone who is looking for a hotel in the area will consider and support them. The food is lovely and the rooms are too, it is a really nice place to stay.

Stayed one night to collect my daughter from University. The food was really tasty, staff warm and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. What more could you ask for!? Would recommend.

Stayed for 1 night - attending a wedding reception nearby. Turned up a bit early to check in so had lunch out on the decking making the most of a lovely warm day. Prompt service and apart from my sandwich being white bread and not ciabata (as menu stated) all good. We were then shown to our room and what an absolute delight! We had room 15 which was on the ground floor - beautiful decor beautiful furniture and perfect for our requirements. Super comfy bed, lovely breakfast before we left : GOOD JOB GUYS!! �

Not sure where the last person stayed but I had a great meal , steak pie , and my other half had the carvary both of which were excellent. Great value too. As for the service we also were served by a northern couple who were both very hospitable, friendly and welcoming.

New couple are fabulous! Very accommodating. We had the carvery for the great price of £4.95 each. It was lovely meat and hot veg served with plenty of choice! Dessert was homemade bread and butter pudding......superb!! We will return very soon!

Fantastic people running the place. Rooms are nice and clean and quiet. Food and bar well can't fault having that downstairs. Staying here for the week and really happy office booked me here and lol forward to visiting again.
