About The Nightingale

The Nightingale in Spetchley is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savoring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Book a table online via Facebook or our website or phone the pub and enjoy a spot by our roaring log-fire. Or make the best of the British summertime by eating alfresco in our pretty beer garden.

A little pub history:
From the early 20th century, the Nightingale was known as the Berkeley Knot, and before that, the Crown Inn. The inn drew much of its trade from visitors cycling through White Ladies Aston who stopped for refreshment en route. The distinctive sloping red tile roofs and whitewash walls of The Nightingale Inn make it a landmark near Spetchley Park. This area has seen many battles, the most noteworthy during the Civil War.

What is Christmas Jumper Day?
On Friday 14 December, thousands of people up and down the UK will start their day by pulling on a Christmas Jumper for a great cause- to help create a brighter future for children.
Whether you join in at work, home or down the pub, it’s all about getting together and putting on your daftest woollies. And by donating £2 each, you’ll be giving children the chance to build a better future.

The wagyu burger and chips is amazing. Best burger I've had in Worcester

User

Lovely place great food and courteous staff especially Charlie and Leanne would give you 6 stars but I couldn’t

User

Haven't been before but went for lunch with my family and received excellent service from Sam L and the staff. The food was excellent and we were well looked after. Only point to raise was about the uneven grass surfaces but it didn't spoil our visit.

User

Had an excellent meal yesterday afternoon, we hadn’t been since the refit & thought how bright & modern the restaurant looked now. We have always found the service very good & yesterday the young lady serving us was very pleasant. Will be going again soon.

User

Had a nice Sunday lunch very nice pub. Meal was served quick nice and hot good service too .

User

Gorgeous food, lovely homely pub

User

Excellent vegan options, for once it seems we weren't an afterthought. Dedicated vegan menu, excellent service and amazing food! Visited twice now n our fav place to go. Highly recommend!!

User

Was pleasantly surprised by my visit this evening as I hadn't been to The Nightingale in 2 or 3 years. The building has always been a nice one with a great decor, but I think that the menu has been greatly improved, whilst retaining a few classics. My starter and main course were both very good as were the two pints of Estrella that I had. The staff were also very attentative, helpful and friendly. A good evening all round - Keep up the good work!

User

Stopped here by chance as it looked lovely .the meal was great , spot on for portion size too and the price was reasonable .Service was good , although as we were leaving there was a long queue of customers . Would have given it a 5 but they had run out of alcohol free beer , husband was not impressed

User

Must have been lucky when we called for lunch yesterday, after reading previous reviews.

We were greeted and made welcome.

We given a choice from three different menus and we chose from the Lunchtime Special as it seemed to me good value for money.

Had starters, main courses And sweets all different so we tested much of the menu between three of us.

All food wes well cooked and we'll presented, with prompt service. We will definitely call again.

The restaurant was busy and everybody seemed to be getting the same level of service.

User

Was really looking forward to my Sunday roast yesterday as iv heard good reports about the Sunday lunch, soggy potatoes not roasted big let down ,watery Garvey, part from that was ok went to pay and the young lady was obviously tired as she made the biggest yawn ever while we paid not very good customer service, Shame really as such a clean and beautiful interior we won’t be back

User

No beef or lamb available , hair in food and slow service...no reduction offered for hair in onion ring batter....didnt leave a tip....shant be returning...shame as the vintage inn near home is very good.

User

I'm here at the moment having a drink after waiting in a long queue one till open for food and drink opened another till had to fetch cider from cellar terrible service at a lovely pub won't come again disappointing

User

Wow... so booked for Sunday, a table of 6 for 3pm to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Always liked the look of the outside so travelled from evesham to go. We turned up 7 minutes before our booking to be told "oh I was just going to call you " to let us know they had run out of all roasts, and on top of that we were slightly early so the table wasn't ready... 7 minutes?????? Was asked if we wanted to buy a drink while we waited showing no concern that we had been let down. Was left Highly disappointed. Won't be making the effort to try in the future.

User

Poor food service mediocre cost of a bottle of wine completely over the top at £23+ for a bottle of cheap Penfold wine Overcooked Scampi the starter tasted like Mushroom soup with a handful of button mushrooms thrown in There were four of us on a Tuesday lunchtime Not going to go there again
