Owned and run by the Roberts family for two generations The Nook has been serving the people of Holmfirth and beyond quality ales in fine condition for over 50 years. We are proud to say our dedication to great ale has earned us a place in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for more than 35 of those years.

Also known As the Rose & Crown, The Nook remains a ‘locals’ local’ and is very much at the heart of the Holmfirth community. We are also pleased to play host to many of the thousands of visitors who come to enjoy what Holmfirth and the surrounding Pennine landscape have to offer.

Our newly refurbished, unique bed and breakfast accommodation Rooms at the Nook offers 'A room with a brew' and makes a perfect base for exploring Holmfirth, taking in the breathtaking countryside by foot or on bike or simply just relaxing with a pint of Yorkshire Ale.

Open seven days per week and 365 days of the year, our aim is to supply the best Yorkshire hospitality and value that Holmfirth has to offer.

Our passion is real ale, much of which we brew on site at the award winning Nook Brewhhouse but our well stocked bar also features quality wines, spirits, lagers, soft drinks and locally produced draught and bottled ciders

The Nook's quirky interior retains much of the original character and individuality that make it such a popular destination for young and old. It features three traditional roaring fireplaces making it warm and snug in the winter and outside our riverside patio and beer garden are great for alfresco drinking and dining in the warmer months.

Our outside space also plays host to our two beer annual festivals at the weekend prior to Easter and over the August bank holiday. Both feature over 50 cellar conditioned, hand pulled real ales and ciders from across the country, along with great entertainment and food.

The kitchen serves a selection small but perfectly form menu that includes delicious bar snacks, light bits and our famous burgers. We offer a more extensive menu and a unique dining experience at our sister bar The Tap House where you can enjoy Yorkshire Tapas skilfully prepared to be enjoyed with our Ales with Yorkshire character brewed on-site.
