KEEPING YOU INFORMED Things seem to be looking rather flat at the moment – there’s a crisis in the European carbon dioxide (CO2) business and many consumers of CO2, especially carbonated drinks producers, are desperate for supplies of the product. CO2 is used in drinks such as Coca-Cola, lemonade, lager, cider, tonic waters etc. “At the moment, we do have gas but our supplier in Cornwall has been told they aren't going to get any more at the moment so it is possible that ...we may run out!” explains Steve Bellman who, with John Milan, runs the Norway Inn. The reasons for the crisis are complex and impact on many business areas including raw gas streams from chemical operations and bio-ethanol plants and ammonia production. There are other market forces involved and the final straw (no pun intended!) has been the recent Europe-wide heat wave that has lead to additional demand for soft drinks and carbonated beverages. Steve adds: “It sounds bizarre, but there is definitely a problem with supplies of CO2. Went for burger evening tonight, amazing food and very reasonable for the portion size. Quality food in a lovely atmosphere

We won the competition for 2 Norwegian Cluckers � Best burger I've had in a long time, great combination of flavours . The service from Harry and his young team was 1st class, nice to see such young attentive, polite happy staff . Highly recommend a visit

We won the King Kong burger competition today � it’s MASSIVE! ... but was soooo good � .. didn’t have to wait long for the food at all and all the staff was very friendly .. will be coming again ... thank you �

We had food here over the weekend, and it was a lovely menu to choose from. The food was delicious, Staff very friendly and helpful & to me was one of the cleanest pub/restaurants I have been in. We will be coming back.

Two Fishmonger burger specials with mussels, tempura anchovies and a shot of bisque. Absolutely lovely food with a great atmosphere and happy staff. The build a burger night is definitely worth a visit! �

This place is the bomb! My friend won the Facebook competition and I tagged along. The burgers were amazing! Staff super friendly and helpful. Defiantly coming back for round 2 and a pudding!

Managed to get a room here last minute, the staff couldn’t of been more helpful.

Had a meal in the restaurant and have to say the food was amazing, evening made even better by the very good service from Rodney.

Will definitely be back for more.

Last minute plans led us to this gem - absolutely amazing!!! Loved the room with a very comfy bed, it was quiet - just perfect after a 5 hour drive! Breakfast excellent, great selection and well cooked - staff very friendly and professional. Can’t wait to visit again 😘 many thanks, Lise

Has to be the best carvery I have had in a long time. Friendly staff, great prices. Low ceiling but that's the danger of being tall!

Fantastic all around really. The staff were very polite and professional and checked up on us to make sure everything was great and if we needed any drinks. The food was impeccable, we went for the burger night and the choice was superb, flavours were delicious and taste buds were very satisfied. All in all definitely coming back here soon for another dinner. Manager made us feel very welcome so hopefully he'll be looking forward to seeing us return!! Would give 6 stars out of 5 if I could.

Fabulous! Ventured over with a friend after winning the new burger competiton, we were both impressed. Fast and friendly service, the burgers were amazing, and definitely dont leave you feeling hungry afterwards! Highly recommend :)

Came on a cold Sunday evening for an intimate date night with my husband, and was greeted with a lovely warm cosy pub, with crackling fire and a great atmosphere. We ordered are food and we're impressed with the range of drinks and menu! My husband had the Norway burger and it was most definitely impressive in size, taste and presentation. The staff were lovely and I think we'll return!

After a long walk it was the prefect stop off, for a lazy lunch by the fire. The new menu was amazing, the open sandwiches I would highly recommend. Really friendly and knowledgable staff. Will definitely return.... you will be sick of the sight of me!!

Absolutely loved it here. We live locally and come every so often. Myself and my friends came today and thoroughly enjoyed the new menu. Both the waiter and waitress that served us were lovely, extremely friendly with beautiful smiles - they go a long way!

The service was brilliant - best I’ve experienced in a while, and the food - superb. Definitely recommend the open buttermilk chicken sandwich, cooked perfectly and the truffle mayonnaise was to die for! Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you very much!

We were disappointed that on Boxing Day it was just a normal menu and not a Carvery!

We had to wait for over an hour for the food! I ordered a medium rare ribeye steak it arrived a thin slice of over done steak! dry and tough!!!!!!!!!!

The best thing was the restaurant manager and waitress’s were as lovely as always .

I hope the management reconsider for next year about having a Carvery for Boxing Day!

We also noticed not so busy as we have seen in the past!

Visited on Sunday 12th November had a table for 9 of us for a birthday celebration lunch. Unfortunately the Carvery was not hot, the 3 lots of fish and chips had soggy batter and flavourless fish and my teenage boys left half of the fish as it was not nice. The service was poor as we were tucked out behind the bar and had to ask twice for the table to be cleared the staff were more interested in the restaurant. Therefore not a great experience for nearly £200. Sorry but would think twice about coming back and really should have complained at the time.

Not sure what’s happened to The Norway Inn. The menu choices have been really reduced, and so has the service. Not once were we asked how our meal was, during or afterwards when our plates were cleared. I opted for the Jamaican chilli bean stew, which was very bland and not at all spicy. We have been going to The Norway for 15 years, but it will be a while before venture there again. It’s a shame, but really disappointed.
