Went with 2 of my kids and my mother for a lovely pub lunch and this is exactly what we received. The meal was very well cooked and tasted delicious. Very reasonably priced, polite staff and no real complaints.

Went here with family ever since I was little, way back before the refurbishment. Foods always nice, get what you pay for and the staff have always been nice enough. Will be back x

We phoned up the day before to let the staff know that there maybe around 20 -30 running ninjas coming for breakfast. They thought it was a joke but we turned up. And the coped so well bring out all our food in as quicker time as possible. It didn’t disappoint at all and the staff and manager were so friendly and we will definitely return in the near future. Keep up the great work everyone

The food here is always lovely, fresh, hot & tasty & the staff are great. The atmosphere is always comfortable and the prices are very reasonable aswell.

The food and staff are always perfect and so is the Heineken

My wife and her sister had a birthday celebration at their fav pub on 26th april.All the staff were really nice and friendly ..great food from the new menu and a surprise bottle of prosseco from the area manager..Cheers to Alyson and her staff for a great day/night..����������

In here right now and the staff are amazing, attentive, friendly and seem to enjoy their job. The beer is decent and a fair price and food is good for the price!

I was with a party of 8 ladies for our Xmas meal tonight. I suffer from severe allergies & was very nervous about eating out. I spoke to a young lady called Beth on the phone. She was very reassuring & really put my mind at rest. Adding that I find her on arrival. She was FANTASTIC! I can't thank her enough for making herself available & being to helpful. She's a true asset to your team!! We all had a lovely meal, no complaints from any of us, plentiful, very tasty & good prices. Many thanks Beth!!

I have just been to the pub for the 1st time and I thought the level of service and bar staff were brilliant. Clean pub and clean toilets. Well done and keep the good work up.

Got to be the most friendliest pub in wallsend. Myself and my sister come here regularly for breakfast. All staff always make us and our children welcome. Often going that extra mile. Breakfasts are fab and really great price. Big thank you to all staff especially Kate who knows our order better than us �.

Good food, good drink, good friends and a good atmosphere. Only observation now doing Beef Suet but informed with cheese inside, not everyone likes cheese but restricted because of this

First time here for Christmas Day dinner - fab food, fab service, fab atmosphere, staff worked hard to make sure everything was perfect! A really enjoyable day, we'll definitely be doing the same next year! Food was excellent, best roasties ever!

Came here last with my hubby for a meal. We both had garlic prawns for starters which were lovely followed by the mains, I had Italian chicken which was very nice and Jeff had a steak platter. We couldn't fault any of it and had a lovely day. Would definitely recommend this pub

1st time in here for a meal and had the fish/chips and fish/salad (had forgot to say ‘no chips’ my fault)

This was red hot and really enjoyable � will defo call again for Sunday lunch and thru the week and try smaller 2 course meal deal as portions are definitely filling !!

Lovely friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Very helpful with children. Loved that children's food cooked fresh, using fresh ingredients.

a star just because my corn on the cob was still cold in the middle outside was hot not in the middle could have done with a couple of more min cooking did not detract from the rest of the meal

Came for an impromptu meal with a friend yesterday around 4pm. We both ordered the Ultimate surf & turf and I was asked how we'd like the steaks cooked and also given options on fries etc.

The food arrived in good time and was very tasty {although personally I would have liked it to have been on a sizzling platter} and we ordered a Bailey's sundae to finish which was delicious

Our bottle of wine was well-priced and service was good - we'll certainly come back again xx

Wouldnt eat the food, as im a chef and very picky but good people very nice and friendly...

We haven't been in a while and the waiting time for our dinner still takes 45 minutes, however the food is good value for your money. Don't expect any frills as this is priced accordingly and has something for all. Just the time waiting for the food is the only downside. Still go again as the food is tasty.

Was looking forward to my food until my order was wrong. And the portion of chips was extra small even though it was a main meal. Had to wait longer for my bacon and cheese which should of arrived on the burger so time that came my burger was cold only thing that kept it hot was the bacon and cheese

Unless you’re a local don’t bother going in! Stood at the bar waiting to be served, others walked up after me and it was like I was invisible. This happened to my partner and my cousin throughout the course of the same evening. It may be a coincidence but seems unlikely. Fab entertainment but service on the last of their list.

Worst meal i have ever had at monkey Steak awash with oil and totally tastless ,skillet full of sliced onions and one mushroom,chips were OK , 50% off main ,now i know why.

Went with my two children for tea after school.

My daughter ordered the garlic bread as a starter and it was partially burnt which she wouldn't eat... my son ordered the battered salt and pepper mushrooms which were over cooked and hard.

I ordered a chilli bonesless half chicken got to the till to be told they no longer have what the meal states as part of the meal (aka no seasoned fries) she then offered me sweet potatoes chips which came soggy and tastless. On the menu it stated that it comes with a grilled tomatoe so I asked for a mushroom instead which she said was fine... but when the meal came it didn't have a mushroom.

The corn on the cob came burnt as it was all resting on a hot sizzling plate..so by the time you get to eat it it had all turned black on one side (burnt)

The chicken it's self wasn't very nice.. abit slimy tbh and totally put us off.

I also ordered a portion of onion rings as a side and they also came burnt.

The meal also had 3 onion rings on it which was not stated on the menu or otherwise we wouldn't of ordered extra.

I'm glad I took pictures of the food or otherwise you wouldn't believe me

I did try and grab the attention of the staff to express my concerns but they was rushing around and never got the chance to speak to them as we were in a rush ourselves to be somewhere so just left it.

I wouldn't go back just due to obvious menu problems and poor food quality.

Hopefully not all sizzling pubs are like this.

I would have given you zero stars if posibble your staff need a lesson in customer service standing at the bar talking about a customer who has just walked in out the cold isnt really the way to go about things when pulled up on it to then ask me to leave and as they put it 'go and stand in the cold ' really doesnt hold your pub in a good light if i was to reccomend a pub to anyone yours would be the last being a local buisness im sure you should be treating local customers better than this !!!!

I go to the powder monkey to eat a lot and never have a problem normally 10-13 of us but today I was really disappointed we ordered 3 beef dinners and got some sort of meat that looked like boil in the bag frozen Yorkshire and soggy veg really disappointed also ordered mixed grill burger and the egg looked like a kids plastic egg . We complained and only got refunded for two dinners and the burger but the attitude of person refunding was outrageous

Came here for the first time today. Was so disappointed with the Sunday dinner....the beef was like leather and was so tough and fatty I could hardly eat it! The frozen roast potatoes were very dry. The carrots were so soggy and watery, clearly out of a tin. My daughter went to ask for some more gravy as the dinner was so dry and she was told she had to pay another 60p!

When the lady came to take our plates away I told her I wasn't happy with the dinner, she just said 'sorry about that' and walked away!

Will definitely not be coming back again, absolute waste of money!!

Awful food. Awful service. Untidy bar. My meal came out so much later than everyone else's in my group. It was burnt and inedible and even the floor staff agreed and when I complained I was told 'you do realise it's chargrilled?'....hmmm there's chargrilled and there's burnt. We were offered nothing in replacement not even an apology. Will not return here any time soon.
