T R I F L E A trifle has to be one of them desserts I remember when been younger! It was the one thing that would appear at the end of a roast dinner or that my grandparents would bring round when I was looked after ! For me it’s one of the simplest desserts around but one of the tastiest if done right !
Ours houses new season rhubarb and sweet strawberries ūüćď soaked in Edinburgh Gin rhubarb and ginger lique...ur before topped with the mighty @chefthomaskeller Pastry cream ! Finally some chantilly cream and for me it has to have hundreds and thousands on the top too to truly make it a memory for me ! We will he serving this with a beautiful rhubarb and custard ice cream ūü§§ūü§§ ūü§§ūü§§

As of today Saturday 9th February 2019, here at The Old Bank we will NOT be taking anymore bookings online through our booking system or through social media platforms. Over the last few months we have had several bookings of larger tables who just haven’t bothered to turn up and also bookings providing us with fake / spam email addresses created to book tables with us and again haven’t shown up.
... This is damaging to any business, but especially to us when we are then unable to make use of the those tables at such short notice and have various costs to cover that are associated with running a business. So today we decided ONLY to take bookings through telephone only!

My partner and I went for date night a few weeks back ... the atmosphere is lovepy .. food is gorgeous and we are booked in again ÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹ

Met friends for breakfast and coffee. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and superb food. I had a bacon and black pudding breakfast roll. The black pudding was delicious and the chef wasn't shy introducing the bacon to the pan, it was lovely and crispy just how I like it. It was huge too, but there wasn't a problem having the rest wrapped up to take home. Can't wait to go back for lunch or dinner.

Lovely meal last night! The menu was extensive but not over the top. I had steak and it was cooked beautifully! Definitely will be back and definitely recommend

I was there yesterday and today. Went with my cousin day before and with my mum today l. As my cousin told she lived it. My mum and cousin are picky eaters they loved it. The staff was amazing and place was great. I love the style and the food.

I visited for Lunch with a large party yesterday and everything was really top notch! Usually with bigger groups (we had 8) you're shoved in a corner elbow to elbow at other places but we were seated on a long spacious table, which makes a pleasant change! The food as well was to die for. I had the Chicken Dinner and it's probably the nicest Sunday lunch I've had in a good while. Amazing food, fast service and the atmosphere is great. Already planning our next visit ūüėä

Had a brilliant meal for my 30th birthday yesterday. Matt and the team were great and looked after us very well, and even my fussy 4 year old ate all her food (and had fun dressing up in the top hat and sunglasses!). Will definitely be back. Would highly recommend.

Great service and lovely food. Excellent value for money - we took advantage of the £20 January offer. Big portions. Unfortunately for me, I’d eaten a big lunch so struggled to finish my burger which was very tasty. Will definitely return!

First time we've been to the Old Bank & it certainly won't be the last. To sum it up briefly ..... lovely food (can recommend the OB Steak burger) nice surroundings, friendly staff, good value!

Great value for a family of four with the BEST burger that I have even done battle with, and I've eaten a few around the world, trust me! Absolutely fantastic food, staff very attentive and friendly, best roast dinner, steak pie and steak and homemade chips in town. Will have to try and work through the menu. It's a must to visit, happy 1st year ÔŅĹ

We were there today for brunch with our 6 year old & 9 week old. The staff were friendly & helpful (there was one waitress mind who looked like she was totally fed up though). The food was well presented, yummy & not badly priced. The three of us were fed for just over £20 and there was plenty of it. Worth a visit.

We had an early dinner. The rump steak was good, even though rare perhaps it could have been seared better. The cheese to follow was good and the red wine excellent (Finca de Oro). Service was pleasant and cheerful and the bill reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Really disappointed, poor service even though only 3 tables occupied in the place. Food took 1 hour 15 min and glasses/bottles were never cleared from the table. The food was ok, but not really warm. This was for my husbands 30th and all 6 of us were disappointed!

Disappointed yesterday with our meal . was suposed to be a treat for the kids birthdays. Took almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive despite there being only 3 tables occupied. Daughters fish tasted weird and batter wasnt cooked, sons fried egg was like rubber and yolk was rock solid, and my husbands toasted bread was almost black. In fairness they didnt charge for the fish, but seemed generally disinterested that we werent happy. Disappointed as previous meals there have been ok. Perhaps need to concentrate more on cooking and less on trying to artfully arrange 8 chips in a bucket.

I went today and my order came completely wrong to be taken back with a half attempted effort to be sorted.. with nothing but awful attitude off staff I had to give my meal back and not have it.. as they didn’t even do anything to it to sort it, the customer service in there is disgusting! I will never return!!
