Having been caught up in traffic we phoned to politely tell them. We were told well you had best hurry up as we are closing.....

We also asked for a bath, and was told we would have one to then walk in and get no bath.
We had the do not disturb sign on the door and removed at 11.20am when we left for a day out and came back to no cleaned room.

We asked why not and they argued saying we had left the sign up 100% not true.

We then had a evening meal and after a huge wait, we finally got our meals of which we left them due to the steaks being the opposite of what we wanted.

The your waitress asked us if we were happy and I said no of which she replied saying well you have eat half of it!!!

We got up in disgust and went back to our In made room, where it was way too hot and the carpets were filthy.

We then left on the Sunday after waiting and waiting for staff , of which yes this hotel is way understaffed and is slow and poor at everything.

I spoke to the owner who I have to say is the most rude and abrupt person I've ever met as he did not like the fact I was unwilling to pay the full bill. I was asking for 1 meal for free and a gesture for all the other stuff that went very wrong and he did not want to know.

PLEASE DO NOT EVER STAY HERE

Usually the meals have been great but on this occasion the stuffed chicken dish was dry, despite the accompanying sauce. The meats on the mixed grill were to succulent. Each to their taste I suppose. Plenty to eat if you have a large stomach. We'll go again but will choose different dishes.

We would thoroughly recommend the Old Ginn House. Our room was spacious, light and bright. Lovely powerful shower and comfortable beds. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely evening meal with family in the evening and enjoyed a very filling full English in the morning. We would definitely stay again.

The hotel is alright. Clean and nice enough. The bed was a bit tough. Dinner was just ok; both for food and service. Breakfast was quite nice.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. The bed was a bit hard. Food wasn't great and service was very slow but all staff were friendly and helpful.

Had overnight room with a dinner reservation and first impressions were favorable when the receptionist showed us across the courtyard to our room. The room was adequate but the bathroom design was poor with the WC being jammed into a corner, tight against the wall and toilet roll holder. However, the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. It went downhill when we went for dinner and were told to sit at a table in the bar (we had a reservation) rather than the more comfortable dining area. Be aware there is no table service, you have to order at the bar and of you want a bottle of wine bring that plus glasses from the bar to your table. We had a shared starter of battered onion rings, spicy chicken pieces and chorizo slices with dips. These all looked and tasted like bought in items certainly not made fresh on the premises - it was not good.
The main course was even worse. I ordered shoulder of lamb and my wife the stuffed chicken breast. Ten minutes later a member of staff said the wasn't any stuffed chicken breast available as the chef was not happy to serve it - so we both went for the lamb. The lamb was dried out on top and almost impossible to cut whilst the underside was stringy and tasteless swamped in a mint sauce that was mostly vinegar. The veg was microwaved, the potatoes exploded and some were black in places. Eating here is vastly overpriced and car a shadow over our visit although I will say that the breakfast of a full Cumberland fry-up was better.
