Went here on Tuesday for my daughters birthday! We were a party of 6 and I've got to say the service from the moment arrived was excellent and the food was probably the the nicest I've had certainly at at any restaurant in this area!! Will definetly be returning and would encourage anyone to give it a try

We had the sliders and meat pie, followed by sticky toffee pudding, all of which was lush. The place is very small, and the tables are quite close together, and you need to slide into your chair, but it has charm, and the food is super. Will defo go back.

This was the most amazing meal that we could have ever asked for, the meals that we had were brilliant very well presented and tasted fantastic.. if I could rate higher than a 5* I would. The service couldn't be faulted at all the waitress was attentive and very polite � overall a fantastic night and we will be coming again soon

The staff were really friendly the interior design was great and the food was lovely. The only thing i didnt like was there are no prices on the menu. I find this really strange you want to know the prices before you order for example you may not have enough cash with you that would be an embarrassment.

Stumbled upon this beautiful little place after a day at The Deep on Friday & we are so thankful that we did. The food was amazing along with the atmosphere & the gentleman that served us was lovely. We are already planning our next visit to eat here & it will definitely be worth the 2 hour trip ☺

Stumbled across this hidden gem quite by accident. Friendly staff sorted us out with drinks and menus without fuss. Great selection of craft beers and gins. Spoiled for choice from the menu. I went for the belly pork and my wife had the blade if beef. The food was amazing. Great atmosphere in this lovely eatery. Puds followed and were equally delicious. I'll definitely make a B line for this place in future. Thanks for an awesome evening �

Real food hand sourced hand grown and raised hand crafted and hand served by real and charming people. They understand wine storage and service and their gin selection is interesting and delicious. A jewel in Hull’s crown.

Mussels/pigeon/scallops - delicious, steak fabulous, lamb not so great. Good wine choices. Really friendly and helpful staff, great night and excellent value - will be back for sure

I went last night with a group of friends, none of us had been before, but we loved it, great food, great service & great staff. I would highly recommend The Old House.

Great place, great location, great food - highly recommend you give it a go. Ate here last night for a family meal. Was able to mix and match between bar and restaurant menu. Everyone enjoyed their food, service good, no complaints would definitely go back.

This has to be one of the best places to eat in Hull.

If you want old world character then this is the place for you.

Staff very friendly and really look as if they enjoy their work and take the time to talk to you and recommend things on the menu.

Fantastic place. Friendly staff, great beers and the food is FANTASTIC. Seriously love this place. Travelled from Middlesbrough twice to enjoy the food and beer. Love it!

Fabulous meal on Saturday lunchtime- only regret was we didn’t order starters as well!

As always fantastic meal and service. I had the moules marienere, Nik the slow cooked belly pork. Delicious, no room for dessert!! Our treat whenever we come to Hull, which is fairly regularly.

After discovering their coffee house next door and how lovely that was I really wanted to dine with The Old House, what with work and holidays I hadn't had any time.



So after getting back from Cornwall and few days left from my time off I booked a table for Sunday, I booked online which was perfect because it means you can choose a time and not have to worry staff with any requests either. I always worry calling may delay staff needed elsewhere.



It looks so nice when I passed by, really well laid out, really good vibes and a great selection of drinks. The lady serving drinks was really thoughtful and knew exactly what to suggest. I had a very good gin with an accompanying tonic water.It was DIVINE I had two, felt a little sloshed (apologies)



I wanted to sit away from any potential crowds and have some peace, it's been a very busy week and wanted to just have calm. Happily, we were allowed upstairs and was taken to a lovely room facing out to the street.



Really great sized tables and comfy chairs, so many places have tiny tables and all I want is space. Sorry, it's true.. sometimes bums on chairs are way to important and yes I know about profits and all that jazz.



Two menu's, two sets of delicious, vibrant choices. I knew I wanted a roast though, it was Sunday and it's a ritual for me and most people I think?



To start a little dish of olives with warm bread and a beet spread, I would have liked a tiny little bit more seasoning. Although, I know that not everyone is into that, as a chef I am addicted to a good salt and way too much pepper. So I understand and respect the decision the colour was intensive and welcomed, can I have some more?



Starter of Wagu Ragu, a pretty round dish put in front of me and a smile to boot.

The last time I had ragu was in York, that was venison at Star IN The City. Michael their head chef is similar in that the dish was served with perfection.

Colour, scents and textures... The most LUX I had was in a tiny garden in Venice, sat around with navel staff all in uniform. I need to go back and try it again.



Anyway, the main was roast ragu, yes it was a theme but of course by choice. A good plate with many variations of fresh vegetables with perfect roast potatoes.

A very delicately roasted wagu, like butter was melting, I have to say the beef was splendid and there is no higher quality than wagu. It's not posh it's refined and it's stunning.

Third time's a charm? Not quite. This time I had a party of 10 and that changed things a bit. Had to choose from a set menu in advance. Said menu was pretty expansive, really not much different from the normal a la carte so easy for folk to find what they fancied. I prepared a spreadsheet showing what everyone in the party ordered. Sadly when it came to service the delivery dissolved into "soup?", "salmon?", etc etc. Of course few could remember what they ordered so confusion reigned. Two of us pulled up the spreadsheet quickly but was hard to read on a phone so not much help. It would have been so easy for the servers to take a swift look at the list and simply put a name to a dish.



Another problem was on arrival. We were directed upstairs and found our table moderately easily although it was set for 12 for some reason. First service encounter was being asked if we wanted pre-dinner drinks. There was no list of any kind offered and we were lightly told off for not ordering at the bar. Who knew? I had a wine list on my phone so that helped a bit. Service throughout was friendly but hardly efficient or inclusive.



Two last gripes. When I booked I was told the table was needed back at 7:00PM. By 7:30 there was still no pressure to leave nor sign of new arrivals. Another major problem was an inability to split the bill even though I'd requested that on booking. I paid for everyone and recouped the money later. Good that I had a list of who had what including drinks.



Having said all this everyone loved their food and drinks/wine/beer. The atmosphere was good as we were a pretty jolly group. I wouldn't like to dine upstairs as a couple though as the decor is rather stark.



Oh and the table was sticky. I mentioned this after both previous visits.



We will be back again and again as the cooking is fab and there is nothing quite like it in Hull. Would be good though if the tables were clean next time ;)
