Looks like it's going to be a drier evening, just in time for supersonic tonight 🤞🤞🤞

User

Brilliant night last night with the fantastic Jet Pack Jesus. I'm sure there are a few sore heads this morning! Looking forward to doing it all again today with delonzo at 3pm and supersonic at 9pm with dj Jimmy gee in between. The rain won't stop us, we have our large marquee up and seating under the canopy at the front of the pub.

User

Bit of a technical error last night 🙈 beer fest is still on! Here's a highlight from supersonic's fantastic set last year to get everyone in the mood. They will be headlining from 9pm on Sunday night.

User

It's that time again for our annual beer and cider fest. We have some brilliant bands lined up and we are working on a fine selection of guest ales and ciders.

User

Not long to go now until this weekends beerfest. We are busy getting ready our selection of ciders and ales for you. We had such a great time last year. Can we make it better?

User

Lovely pub in picturesque setting by the river. Great to sit outside admiring the view with a cold pint, after walking from Conham River park. ( 2.5 miles!)

Have never had any food there, but after reading the other reviews about the Sunday roast, think I'll give it a go soon!

User

I haven't been here for too long, for reasons not at all the fault of the pub. It's a fab place, with very friendly and easy going management/staff and a great community feel. The food is very good and great value for money. I'd highly recommend it, it's a great setting to wile away idle hours or just to drop in for a swift half. They'll always make you welcome.

User

Great food. Great staff. Great atmosphere

User

Fantastic. Cider Slushy, yum. Service is great, staff couldn't be nicer. Had a gorgeous chilli with baked potato and salad, followed by crumble with ice cream. Absolutely wonderful. Service was excellent and the food couldn't have been better highly recommend this lovely place We had 6 main courses, 5 desserts, lots of drinks including cider Slushy and it cost about £100. Excellent value for money!

User

Fantastic place, friendly people 😃

User

Fabulous roast dinner for Mother’s Day. Very generous portions, Beautifully tender roast beef, my husband had the lamb shank, which was delicious, and son in law the 1/2 chicken. More than enough veg accompaned this, plus very cheesy cauli cheese!

The deserts were fab, we all had something different, and all were delicious.

Staff are great, very friendly and attentive. Left very full and happy. Totally reccommend this traditional river side pub for sunday lunch. Thanks to the team.

User

Cycled here today and stopped for a roast. Was absolutely amazing. Huge portions, loads of gravy, delicious buttery veg. The potatoes were done properly (not fried) and the homemade Yorkie was delicious and a wonderful accompaniment to the beef which fell apart with a fork. My boyfriend had the nut roast which was also very tasty. Coupled with the view of the river, it really was a perfect afternoon spot. We’ll definitely be back.

User

Been here countless times the best Sunday roast ever home cooked taste amazing and all the staff are super friendly

User

Beautiful spot for a nice cold drink. Friendly staff and well kept surroundings.

User

All food is homemade and never ever had a bad meal , the best roast dinner I have ever tasted always best to book as they get very busy on the weekend if you haven't tried the roast you have to give it a ago you would never go anywhere else staff are very friendly and always very helpful , it's very home from home.

User

After having a horrendous experience in the restaurant next door staff.

I decided to take my custom here. The young bar man was so helpful and friendly. Even though I didn't like cider. He convinced me to try the lush with blackcurrant (yummy and refreshing) I felt so welcome and the food was great. All the staff had smiles and were very talkative and helpful. I can't believe the difference in the two pubs attitudes.

User

A proper local pub with a great community spirit. Great food and choice of ciders, lagers, wines etc. The hosts Karen, Richard & Dan are so accommodating and will do all they can to ensure your visit is a good one. My partner & I love this pub, we don't get down there as often as we'd like to, but when we do, it's ALWAYS a lovely experience.

User

Lovely olde world pub on the river. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good beer and cider, ordered ham, eggs and chips and Tuna/cheese jacket potato for lunch. Both arrived nicely presented and generous portions.

We sat outside and felt there could be a bit of a tidy up as rubbish (old broken tables stacked up near the seating area) and lots of weeds which spoilt a picturesque setting. A few brightly planted containers would brighten it up as well

User

A very busy bank holiday Sunday, we was able to get a table quite easily for 6, was told food would be about 40 mins, in no hurry so no problem.

We all opted for various roasts dinners from chicken to beef and pork all arrived together, roast potatoes were well over cooked and gravey was a bit thin and greasy other than that all good.

Puddings were ok, Eton mess was good !

User

9of us went for a river walk to this pub. Really nice landlord took us in fed us well even though they were expecting a 21st birthday party. Excellent pub food and very friendly.

User

So disappointed. Arrived with my family for a pub lunch..was originally going to the chequers but they were closed for the day due to new management. When our order had not arrived after an hour but other tables who ordered after us had been served..decided to investigate..no they had not forgotten our order...two jackets appeared..the third was on its way..when it arrived it was inedible..i think they forgot to cook it....complained..was given our money back..this was not the point as was happy to pay. But would of liked three meals together..safe to say we wont be back...another table was also shocked at the service we received.
