Great little village pub. Welcoming atmosphere and good food.

Not great. The staff were friendly and the room was generally clean but the room and shared bathrooms were victims of poor DIY and run down. The bedding stunk of cigarette smoke and we had 1 small towel each. The continental breakfast was self service and everything was pre-packed cereals etc (but with fruit and yoghurts). Not worth £65 per night.

We only used the inn as a base to travel around the lakes. We didn't eat at the inn, just slept there. We had a two night break booked as a gift. It was a half hour drive to mount skiddaw. The room was to be expected. Comfortable double bed, plenty of space, colour TV. As a base to explore it was great.

A very enjoyable stay! - received a very warm & friendly welcome from Tom + Kirsty. The locals were all very friendly and played pool with us! Our room was very nice and clean, unfortunately it was above the bar and had a bit of noise on Friday/Saturday (the bar staff did turn down the music volume upon request). We had dinner twice during our 5 night stay and it was very good. Our friend, left her key and was locked out whilst the hotel was closed - we called and staff came to let her back in.
We're looking forward to going back next year for Woolfest! Thank You!

too loud music and bustle until late night. i call the reception, they told me that they were going to lower the music. not only they didnt but they also close the phone and when i phone them again they put my on vocal box. very poor breakfast and if you want something more there is an additional charge!
the main door is closed over the day and it opens only with finger print, i was locked out for an hour until a man came and open the door and he told me we didnt expect anyone before 16:00.
so disappointed.

Needed a room on a Saturday night and was the only place available in the area. Wasn't clear about breakfast needing to be ordered ahead at booking or check-in. Our room only had a bath available, no shower.

Stayed overnight at The Old Mill Inn. The location was nice, the accommodation was average though. We were unfortunate to book at the same time as a 30th birthday bash (we were informed when we got there) and the music was bouncing through the room til after midnight. After that thankfully things quitened down and we got some sleep. A few things here and there in the room that could have done with some attention, ie wonky loo seat! But the staff were very friendly. Wasn't a terrible experience but probably wouldn't return ***

Tom and the staff are great. Everyone is really friendly we arrived very late but making food was no problem and offered not asked for. The room (family room) was lovely spacious clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend a stay in this gorgeous little pub for whatever reason you visit even the tail end of a hurricane didn't dent how great a time we had. Well done Tom, Flash and all the staff for putting on an brilliant birthday for my neice accommodating everyone and being awesome. Enjoy a well earned rest. Ginette Andy and Seren who thinks your house is super cool lol.
