Nice laid back site in beautiful countryside. Facilities need updating but the new owners are on the case. Owners friendly and helpful.

We have had a lovely stay at this very friendly family orientated site. The pitches are generous in size and screened off between them. The owners are constantly improving the facilities and the guests are actively encouraged to partipate in the feeding of the animals. We thoroughly recommend the Old Rectory whether you are a camper caravanner or want a cottage or pod.

Very friendly. Interesting rare breeds. The site was nearly empty so no noise from other campers, but there was traffic noise. Facilities were good but it might get busy with a full campsite?

User

Clean and tidy. Facilities fairly basic. Might be rather tight for showers and toilets if it was even half full. I arrived in the rain on a bicycle out of season and was charged a whopping £16, cash - I felt that this price might have been arrived at after assessing my wet and tired state.

Declan and Sarah treat us like friends. It's a fabulous places to stay, close to many places of interest. It's lovely and quiet which suits us and our dogs love it here as much as we do. We come here as often as we can.

When looking through reviews you often find if a place has lots of very good reviews and one bad one, then, in my opinion, the person who wrote the bad review has the issue.

We read the reviews on here, and elsewhere, but decided to chance it anyway.

We were not disappointed.

The Old Rectory is a fantastic place. The set up is brilliant, and we could not find fault.

Declan and Sara were excellent hosts, and a mind full of information about the local area, and local history.

Keep up the good work guys, and we hope all the things you have planned for the site all work out.

I have a feeling that we will return again.

What a lovely place. We stayed for two nights in pod 4.
Lovely welcome from Declan which was really appreciated as we had had quite problematic journey and arrived quite late. He also helped us out with a spare lamp and stove when ours packed up.
Lots of info available for things to do and he knows his local history too.
The pod was perfect. Really toastie from its seemingly tiny heater, which we had to turn off!
Lovely to have a bench to use too. Oh and the views are spectacular

We received a warm welcome from Declan and Sara the minute we arrived. We stayed in one of the four camping pods which have lighting, a heater, a decking area and a picnic table. The site has a play area for the kids which my girls loved. There is also a small holding which has miniature ponies, free range chickens, ducks and Gloucester Old Spots. Declan invites the children on site to help with the afternoon feed of the animals where he talks with pride about his animals. On site is a utility area where a fridge and a freezer are available free of charge and a washing machine and tumble dryer available for a small fee, free wifi and a shower block. Eggs and meat produce are also available all fresh from the small holding. The views are exceptional, even on a cloudy day. This small family run campsite is just idyllic and we will definately be going back, highly recommended. Thank you Declan and Sara for a wonderful stay.

Stayed here last weekend and had such a fantastic time. The campsite is in a great location and so quiet. We loved waking up to the ducks and chickens wondering around. We will definitely be back.
