Message from The Old Saw Mill Directors’…
We are considering buying The Old Saw Mill outright instead of renting the building; the main reason being the building needs significant investment and if we make that investment it is to the Landlord’s long term benefit not ours.
GOOD NEWS…
... The Landlord has expressed an interest in principle to sell the property which has been independently valued. We are planning to take out a mortgage of 70% of the value and the difference being funded via a subscription for shares or bond scheme or similar. It’s intended that whatever scheme we choose would be designed to provide an attractive rate of return.
If you are interested in investing in such a scheme, we would be more than happy to discuss this further. Please email the Directors’ on co-op@theoldsawmill.org indicating an expression of interest and we will be in touch.
Should there be sufficient appetite for this plan we will present the detail at our next AGM which is planned for Tuesday 30th April.
Thank you for reading.

On Thursday 9th and Friday 10th May at 19:15, drama comes to The Old Saw Mill in two one-act plays by local playwrights.
In CALAMUS AND CINNAMON by Diane Cook, the social, political and religious travails of 1636 are many – no less for female apothecary, Afra Southwood, when a corrupt churchwarden and an accusation of sorcery put her life in jeopardy. Will she have the strength to survive her ordeal?
Back to the future at the Bolton Bus Interchange with Margaret Holbrook’s TH...E BUS STOP. It's Sunday. Jacki's car's off the road. She's getting the bus to her parents' house for Sunday lunch. Keith turns up, he wants to go shoppin', but is undecided. They begin to chat, become friends while they wait for buses, buses that are unexpectedly delayed. During their conversation secrets are shared, fears brought to the fore and for Keith there are also memories that won't be laid to rest.
Tickets £7 including a drink of your choice at the interval are available from Diane Cook on 07929 111 035 or email diane@dianecook.co.uk or from The Old Saw Mill cafe.
