We stayed in the apartment above the pub. It was amazing. The owner Mike was really friendly and even dropped us off at the Quarry for Shrewsbury Rocks retro festival. We will definitely be staying there again

We came in the afternoon. Was a little to late for a meal and had bar snacks. They were delicious and very filling. Going to come back and try a evening meal

We came here for Sunday lunch on looking for a pub in the area, what a fantastic meal. I had roast lamb and my husband had Chicken Texmex. We hadn't booked but they found us a table immediately and service was also brilliant. I would recommend this pub.

Walked to this lovely pub from the caravan and camping club site 2.5 miles away. The menu is just the right size with a nice specials board too.

My husband had liver, pancetta and root veg mash. I had gnocchi with a mac cheese sauce and mushrooms and spinach. Huge portions and then a huge portion of the most amazing chips I have ever had. ( I will probably dream about them).

Very friendly staff. Dogs welcome in bar area.

Wish it was closer to home as it is fab. 👍👍

Stayed over last night in SUPERB accommodation for friends birthday. The Landlord and Staff were so welcoming and friendly.The evening meal we had was great, wine lovely.. We will definitely be back 👍👍👍👍

Myself and 3 friends have had a great weekend here, really friendly helpful staff, great beer and great food, what more could you want !

Have eaten from the regular menu many times before & always very happy with both the food & service .

Last Sunday we tried the Sunday roast for the first time & was not disappointed . Cooked to perfection , excellent value for money & as always great service .

Keep it up , hope to book in Mother's Day �

Called in for a lovely lunch after a long walk. As ever had a fabulous meal, great wine and ace service.

Burger night is amazing. Such a nice burger and staff were very helpful and polite and didnt have to wait long for anything even thought it was busy. Will definitely be returning. My new fav place to eat!!

A very extensive menu. Something to suit most appetites. I had a fabulous meal. It was well presented and tasty not to mention good sized portions. Attentive staff plus cosy old world pub surroundings.

A fantastic meal with excellent food for our party of 7 adults. The waiting staff and chef were extremely accomodating of the changes we asked for in regards to dietary needs too. Friendly and welcoming environment we will definitely be recommending to all our friend and family.

Went there last night for a friend's birthday and was really disappointed. We had booked a table for 7pm and didn't eat until 9.15pm as they were so busy. My friends rib eye steak was very disappointing , mostly gristle and very chewy. Didn't bother with dessert incase we had to wait ages for it and also they are quite over priced for size of portion. Won't be going back in a hurry

We came on Saturday 16th September, for a 'celebration' meal.



We reviewed the menu online and both thought it appealed so we booked a table.



When we were seated, we were given two different menus, one which matched the one online, the other omitting an item.



When we came to order the food, the option we both choose we were told was part of the old menu (which was the menu we had seen online), and wasn't available. This was of great disappointment as I had already chosen this option even when I saw the menu online.



I then changed my food choice to the belly pork, with red cabbage, to be told there was no red cabbage, but instead they would give me dauphinois potatoes, so reluctantly I agreed (I love red cabbage so this was my second disappointment)



When our mains arrived, my belly pork came with dauphinois potatoes, and my partners Lamb Henry and dauphinois potatoes came. We were then surprised when bowl of chips came (considering we had potatoes with our meal). When I questioned this with the waiter, he said if we had wanted vegetables we should of ordered them separately (which seems very bizarre and surely the waitress who took our order should of told us that)



I can't understand why you would replace cabbage with potatoes and then send out further potato dishes?



I would expect a meal like that to come automatically with vegetables?



This is the first time I've been in 4 years, and I certainly won't be in any rush to return.
