Whoever coined the phrase “Celebrity DJ” was definitely NOT talking about Dane Bowers!
Although Dane has been a household name in the UK for over 15 years, he has still managed to maintain a level of credibility and respect as both an underground and commercial DJ. Having played for huge names like Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher, Twice as Nice and Glastonbury, Dane is diverse in his musical tastes as well as what genre of music he plays.
Dane’s career in music started out as a DJ from the age of 15 where he was the resident DJ at Streatham Ice Rink! He followed his father’s footstep who was one of the founding DJ’s on pirate soul radio station “Radio Jackie”. Bowers’ connection to music is quite simply “in his blood”.
More well known for his time in Platinum selling RnB group Another Level, and from his groundbreaking single with Victoria Beckham (‘Out of your mind’), Dane has worked with some of the giants in music history. He has worked with the likes of Jay Z, Kelis, Wyclef, Frankie Knuckles and Janet Jackson. More recently Dane was featured on ITV’s The Big Reunion as part of new super group 5th Story.
From the west end of London and most of the major clubs around the UK, to Marbella, BCM in Majorca and Esparadis and Eden in Ibiza, Dane has travelled and played around the world.
“Music for me has always been a part of everyday life. I love all types of music which I feel has really helped me as a DJ. I like being able to play Deep house, and Electro bangers one night, and then mix Hip-hop and RnB tracks in with a rogue Jackson 5 classic the next!! I like to mix it up and for people to leave the club feeling they have never heard a set like it before.”

Went there this evening. The tapas was amazing. Hadn't been for some time as the previous chief seemed to be in love with the salt pot! The new chief has turned things around incredibly. Delicious tapas all round. We will be back! �

We had a meal in the restaurant upstairs and it was very nice, cooked to our liking, really tasty and well presented. It’s the first time we have been here, we found the staff to be friendly and professional and they made us feel very welcome. Would not hesitate to recommend the Olive lounge.

We had a great night here on Saturday, perfect evening and the cocktails were amazing especially the violet martinis I would recommend anyone to have one, delicious and very strong. Will definitely be coming back ����

Visited The Olive Lounge tonight as an early birthday celebration for my 21st. The staff were lovely and friendly, the food was delicious and the cocktails were yummy. Can't fault the place! Would highly recommend!

Thank you to the Olive Lounge for a great night last night. We booked a table for 31 for a 21st birthday and everyone really enjoyed their meals and cocktails and had a great night. Most of us were first timers but we will all definitely be back!!! My father-in-law thinks we should do it every Wednesday! Thank you so much for everything last night � W-Italian can't accommodate large parties but The Olive Lounge certainly can!!! Well done guys �

Quality night with the Bootleggers. Great band and fantastic atmosphere. One of the many great bands that play here. This place is just what Wickersley needed. Great choice of drinks. Great tracks played. Great bar staff and door staff great at job. Not tried food yet cos my choice is always drink over food�but my daughter a regular for food and fab comments back. There ya go. Roll on summer. Fantastic job Gail, Darren and Jonathan ��

I have just had my 50th birthday party at the Olive Lounge. The venue, the buffet and the staff were excellent. Especially the young man working on the upstairs bar (sorry didn’t get his name ) was so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. On a slight negative but hopefully constructive criticism, the ladies toilets over the night because a disgrace. I appreciate it was extremely busy but more reason to keep them in check. There was block sink. Toilet paper all over, the floor was swimming and glasses everywhere. This would not put me off going back. And would definitely recommend the Olive Lounge for drinks are private functions .

I have had a fantastic afternoon with friends making cocktails with a tapas lunch. Having the upstairs purely for our group made the experience all the more enjoyable. Our host Daniel was brilliant, highly recommended. Thank you.

I ate here last night for the first time with 3 friends and loved it! The food was beautiful (the squid was amazing!) and the staff were very attentive. Can't wait to come back!

Food amazing! Cocktails always amazing. Came for my mums birthday absolutely love it! Been here loads but never had food! So glad there somewhere like this in Rotherham.��� can’t beat a good pornstar and best place to get one ���

Being a Tapas virgin, I was wary! How wrong was I?! My husband and I spent our 1st wedding anniversary here last night and it was off the chart fantastic. The food was divine, the staff were a delight, it was simply lovely. We will for sure be back, long before Anniversary number 2!! �

First time ...The food great , atmosphere great my only concern is the restaurant is upstairs & sadly for a venue of this sort there is no lift or anyway to get upstairs for the disabled , the disabled toilet is downstairs . I personally struggled the 2 flights of stairs but did get up them slowly .

We have always loved eating here but the new menu is obviously a cheaper option with less choice of tapas & more pizza and they have dropped the complimentary bread & oil. The service was excellent and when we mentioned our concerns they said there was more fish & the pizza appealed to the bar menu downstairs. Personally for a Saturday night they now lose out to 450 above & W. I don’t really know what Tapas will be on for Tapas Tuesday as it has been cut so drastically. I hope they go back to the quality that they had before. It will be a while before we go back. I have been kind giving 3 stars. That was for the service not the food.

So thanks for the good vibes but please try to put in a tv for next time.

We go here a lot and normally the service is good. Last night it was appalling. It wasn’t all that busy so that wasn’t the reason. I waited 15 minutes to buy drinks and the bar was only one deep. The staff either need to speed up or they need to put more on.

I’ve visited the Olive Lounge many times and have always enjoyed the food and drinks. I visited last night with my wife and although we hadn’t booked, the staff kindly accommodated for the two of us. We ordered sea food paella (Paella Mariscos) as the last time we ate this here it was delicious. However once the waiter placed the dish on our table it was clear something was wrong. We basically got stodgy rice with a few king prawns. No other seafood, no tomato, paprika or seasoning. I sent it back and we abruptly left feeling disappointed. The staff were very apologetic and seemed sincere which I couldn’t fault and insisted our drinks were on the house. This gesture aside I couldn’t believe the dish was served without the full menu consist. If the ingredients for example weren’t available then we could have ordered an alternative dish with no problem given this option should the staff have been honest. I hope this was a one off as I really enjoy the venue as it offers something different which has been a very welcome addition to Wickersley. We have friends coming over to visit before Christmas and I was looking forward to booking however I’m nervous that the quality has dropped?

Being our local bar we visit often, normally a nice bar with a good atmosphere. Unfortunately on Thursday there was a big problem with being served, not enough staff working and the ones who were was clearly inexperienced. At one point all the customers waiting to be served decided to walk out including the group we were with. A shame really, hopefully the owner who was around noticed and makes changes next time.

Visited the Olive Lounge on many occasions, but following my last visit wont be rushing back. The food has gone down hill and the service was poor, what had happened to the nice friendly waitresses that worked there. No thought for people with food allergies, do not have the chocolate brownies they contain nuts and no where on the menu does it highlight this.

Oh dear. Neen here lots bit tonight was poor. Bouncers looking for trouble. Had a few issues through the night that were uncalled for.

Bought 2 pints at the bell ringing. 5 mins later toom them off us - threw them on floor and then threatened us outside cos they wanted to go home.... not nice ecperience and wont be back.
