Went yesterday for a late lunch with friends we had never been before, really friendly staff looked after us so well they even cooked us all fish and chips as that's what we all fancied but it wasn't on the menu ! Lovely haddock and fab tartar sauce 😘Great meal and fantastic staff thanks guys we will definately eat here again 👍😆

We came here for our xmas meal yesterday me my wife and all our family the food was superb staff were great lovely place to come i will be coming again and will be recommending to all my freinds ... thanks to all the staff happy xmas

Visited the olive tree at the weekend & had a lovely meal, very good variety on the menu, fantastic service & food!

Only moan is that I wished they'd told me on booking that there was a function being held as it was very noisy with the disco.... not that it bothered us but I know if I'd taken my parents with us they wouldn't have wanted to stay.

On Saturday I had my wedding reception at The Olive Tree and what can I say....Food was absolutely amazing, a sit down meal for 90 people and it was beautiful! Credit to the chefs, I had guests saying to me that they had eaten in some top London hotels and the food wasn’t no where near as nice as Saturdays! Evening buffet, delightful. The staff were all absolutely amazing, this place is a complete hidden gem and does not get the credit it deserves. Well done all! Thank you for an amazing day �

My Husband and I had a lovely meal last night, food was amazing, service was exceptional, and it was a lovely touch that they acknowledged it was our wedding anniversary. We will definitely be coming back.

I visited the Olive Tree Saturday 28th January 2017 with my husband and two friends for an evening meal. It was my birthday and we wanted somewhere local to celebrate. We have visited many times and have always been impressed by the superb contemporary smart decor and the quality of food available. There was a good choice of dishes with a good selection of wines. The presentation was as consistent as ever and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We are lucky to have a high quality restaurant virtually on our doorstep and will be returning.

Handy to have onsite whilst staying in a Dream Lodge, staff were attentive but not intrusive, chicken dish had a little too much sauce but better than not enough...thanks to all! 😊

Had my sons 18th birthday here on Sunday, the staff decorated with banners and set out tables for us. The buffet was amazing and so much of it.

My son and my family were very impressed. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Positive: Mother's Day lunch was excellent! The food was hot and delicious and we had everything that we ordered including extra roast potatoes and gravy. A glass of wine was also included in the menu price. I also liked the idea of receiving the menu via Email about a week or so beforehand.

Negative: As it was Mother's Day a little thought could have gone into table presentation. It didn't need to cost much, a simple vase with bunches of yellow daffodils and accompanying yellow serviettes for instance would have made the room less cold looking and more like a Mother's Day "event".

A couple more on Service, would have shortened waiting. The two service staff were run off their feet and signs were beginning to show. But they remained very courteous and I guess it can't be easy to get people to work on Mother's Day...

My husband and I went to the restaurant on Sunday for our wedding anniversary. As he had told them on making the reservation it was our anniversary, they chose a very nice table and decorated it with sprinklings of red hearts! Very nice touch. The food was very good, pricing good and the drinks were very large. I overheard that the restaurant was fully booked for lunch.

The location is quite unique as it sits among a holiday park, but is individual. There is a pool and comfortable outside sitting and dining. Some niggling aspects:

We came dressed in smart casual, but Some came in shorts and flipflops (quite too casual for a bit upscale restaurant). The black and white decor is relaxing, with b&w 1950/60 movie star photos. The 'front of house' waitress told us they are upscaling their look and menu (£20 for 3-course lunch of choices or a la carte.) so we would have preferred a smart casual dress code. She did not know what the soup of the day was so had to go check in the kitchen.

There is no direct access from bar to kitchen, so clean glasses are hauled across wood floor, dripping of water between the tables. No one came to wipe the floor.

The wait staff seemed to be more pub staff, as 'yeah' was heard often, and no one came around to see if we needed anything, water would have been good, another drink, etc. it was having to eye the waitress when she was around. Their chatting at the bar should not be heard. A bit more formal training for a restaurant that wants to upgrade itself would be helpful.

We would recommend this restaurant as the food was very good, portions good, Norfolk beef was medium and tender, and the Rioja wine vg.

Just a more upscale clientele and wait staff would make this a treat.

Inside not as nice as the outside would suggest . Service excellent - my friend not happy with her meal so with absolutely no fuss it was replaced with an apology and she paid nothing ! That's what I call service - well done

Had a very good night last night for new years eve! A couple of the dishes would have been nicer warm but other than that couldn't fault the food or service! All staff were friendly and smiling all night and let's be honest who really wants to work new years eve!

We live local and used to eat here but had a couple of disappointing meals so Saturday we thought we would try again after reading the online menu. We arrived for what was probably the first cover of the evening and found that the menu was very different. However we could see some possible dishes that sounded good. Started with ham hock terrine with toasted foccocia, or what was actually presented, 3 tiny round slices of ham hock and gristle and toasted (burnt in places) white bloomer. We asked the waitress if this should've been foccocia to be told sorry yes but they had run out!!! We then had our mains, battered haddock chips & peas which was ok and sea bass with celeriac mash, cabbage, lardons and red wine jus which as individual items was okay, but in any way together it only tasted of celeriac. It doesn't bode well when your order is given to the kitchen that as a diner you hear comments and jokes about the sea bass. The management kindly removed the starters from our bill but when your only real positive was how good the wine was, it is not ideal when North Walsham has very few places to eat. The waitress was the only other plus for this resturant.

Very poor , food was cold , could not get the order right . Group of people left without paying ,well that says it all. Took 30mins to microwave a Xmas pudding . I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone . Definitely would not pay £25.95 .

Very disappointed went for Christmas Party night, seemed no thought had gone into presentation etc let alone taste or quantity! Dry Turkey ( 1 slice) 2 potatoes 3 slices of carrot , a cabbage leaf and 1/2 dozen inedible parsnips. No sprouts, pigs in blankets not even cranberry sauce. Even ran out of popular brand lager on Tap!!

Terrible food.. was given anchovies in a salad when asked not to have them and the main was swimming in some kind of creamy bitter sauce. All I can say is kitchen nightmares uk..

I came to the olive tree restaurant last night for a meal the night before my sisters wedding it was the most unorganised restaurant I've ever been to. There was 25 of us we all pre-ordered our meals the day before, there was at least a 5-10 minute gap inbetween meals being served and they forgot someone meal. The food tasted awful and the staff where unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone it seems even with new management it's still last on my list for places to eat.
