The One Elm Description

We are a friendly, neighbourhood pub just yards from Henley Street & Shakespeare’s birthplace. As well as a perennially busy bar, we have an eatery on two floors and a secret courtyard where those in the know while away a sunny afternoon or evening. We take huge pride in serving the best ingredients we can find, from ethical producers, freshly prepared by our chefs. Whether you pop in for a pint, a business lunch or a special dinner, we promise you a friendly welcome. All day long.

We booked this on open table as we were visiting Stratford upon Avon for the day and we live in Worcester. We were extremely impressed with the whole experience from the staff, the ambience and the food was absolutely delicious. We opted for the roast beef and trimmings and can honestly say we would give the chef 10/10 and we dine out a lot. The best Yorkshire pudding we've ever had . We were sat near an open fire and it had a real homely Christmassy feel. Definitely going back soon

Visited yesterday for lunch, lovely friendly welcome.

Had the small plates, croquets, houmous and fish goujons, all delicious, other half had beef roll off specials and onion rings, again delicious.

Sat in the courtyard, really pleasant and quiet, highly recommended

Lovely yummy meal. Hayden, our waiter, was great. Lucky find!

User

Loved my snacks of honey mustard dressed sausages, deep fried Brie with chilli jam and white bait. These were all fantastic as were the staff. However can you tell me why the non alcoholic cocktails are off the menu.... thank goodness for fantastic staff who rise to the challenge.

User

Great traditional pub with real ales and excellent food on offer

User

Great place to have amazing food while you watch a football game! Go upstairs, quieter, can still see the tv, brighter. Service was a rush slow, but the place was packed due to all the TVs showing the World Cup! I’m picky about my greens and the salad was Devine! Definitely coming back when ( not if) we return.

Myself and husband visited yesterday as was in Stratford for our wedding anniversary , my hubby had the rump steak which at £19.00 for 8oz , he expected it to be good , he actually stated it was the best steak he had ever eaten and cooked just as he had requested medium rare , I had the chicken Kiev with skinny fries , at £15.00 again my expectations were high , whilst it was presented nicely and inc a lovely side salad , the Kiev was a slight disappointment in that there was hardly any garlic in it , other than that it was ok but I think quite pricey , overall though a pleasant experience and would def recommend to go and have the steak oh and a cocktail

First visit. Excellent food, friendly staff and a lively sociable feel to the place. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is that it was very busy and we had to wait more time than expected for drinks, food and coffees. They could have done with more staff, having said that, the staff they had coped very well and remained amiable if we queried where our order was, which is a rarity in any service industry today.

User

Called on the spur of the moment, wanting to eat before the journey back north. Two of us chose beef roast whilst the other two chose the lamb shank. Well presented and cooked to perfection, although portions were a little on the small size, and at £15 for a main a bit pricey for what it was. Service was very good, and finished off with a free bottle of beer for father's day.
