It's Tuesday steak night tonight so come and enjoy a juicy steak with proper chips, onion rings, mushrooms, tomato and green leaf from only £12.50. Last week was our first one and the feedback was fantastic. 01274 809495

Is it really four years ago today that we took over the Woolpack after it had been closed for six weeks. Thanks to all of you for supporting us and helping us to return it to its former glory.

The snow's not bad in Esholt so why not come and warm yourself by the fire at the Wooly with a freshly made vegetable curry broth. The full menu is also on.

Happy birthday to Gilly who has taken a well earned break away from the #Woolpack to have a day out in sunny Filey

l spent a few days camping with my dog holly in Esholt, we visited the Woolpack and found warm, friendly and welcoming staff, they where helpful and courteous, I cannot understand negative comments about the staff who went out of their way to accommodate the requests from people to have a photograph taken behind the bar, in particular when a group of people with learning disabilities visited, it was lovely to see the staff helping, nothing seemed to much trouble, maybe some people who visit the pub should look closely at their own attitudes.

User

Went for an early surprise 60th birthday lunch and from the moment you entered the pub we were greeted with such warm hospitality from all members of staff, James the proprietor came over and chatted to us more than once making us feel like old friends even though we had never met! Dave who was volunteering that day straight away was very welcoming and served our food which was scrumptious with a friendly smile and again made you feel relaxed.

Thank you for making my 60th surprise lunch feel so special xx

User

We called in Monday with the family before heading the airport and we got a lovely welcome and complimentary food, we will definitely be back

Visited the Woolpack after me and my daughter had been on the Emmerdale studio experience to complete our tour .We just had a drink then we had a walk round the village and called in the shop. I used to visit Esholt regular when I lived in Shipley it's nice to return to now and again.Hopefully will return next school hols with my youngest daughter. x

User

Thank you so much!! My band and I have just visited the Woolpack after a little filming and we were not only welcomed with open arms but offered to have a picture behind the bar too!! Thank you from the City of Bradford Brass Band.

Popped in yesterday (Saturday) on the way to our Emmerdale Studio tour weekend, & the land lady allowed us to have our photo taken behind the bar, & kindly gave us a couple if souvenir beermats.

So popped in again today on the way home for a bit of lunch.

I had the best turkey, stuffing & cranberry sandwich & O/H had roast beef & sticky onion sandwich, both served with best chunkiest chips ever tasted! They were more like roasties.

The warm friendly welcome we received from the landlord was fabulous, as was all the staff.

We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the excellent hospitality, but the snow started to come thick & fast & we had a long journey home.

Shall definitely be visiting again 👍🏻

Our grandson took us to the Woolpack yesterday, where we had a delicious meal and a drink the service and food was great, I even went behind the bar to have a picture done pulling a pint while looking at a picture of Alan Turner one of the older bar tenders, all in all a nice time was had by all.

User

Me and my sister called in yesterday after our emmersale studio tour for our dinner.

Can not recommended enough the lady who served us was very welcoming, informative and friendly. And the food is amazing to say the least!! Big portions mind which is never a bad thing Will return again to try the rest of the menu !!

User

Lovely place to visit (Saturday). Food is delicious and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Even helped us get to a wedding on time (Thanks so much) x

User

Lovely humble pub. Great food and exceptionally friendly people!

Always enjoy visiting James and his team! Disappointed to read a couple of negative reviews from people unhappy that they haven't been able to get a table for Sunday lunch because they haven't booked or the fact they don't serve food on Monday / Tuesdays. This in my eyes is lack of common sense by those customers for not checking before hand! All pubs serve food at different times and most are unlikely to accommodate for Sunday lunch without booking! They have a phone number so just call and check if in doubt!

Don't let those comments put you off. 5 stars !!

I would just like to thank Jilly and the staff who looked after our small group of Residents from our care home. We pre-booked a table and she made sure it was reserved, in the heart of the pub and not shoved in a corner. They accommodated smaller portions of the main meals and the food was freshly cooked, plates full and tasted amazing. Bar staff were very attentive and friendly, and Jilly even arranged for a visiting cast member to come and chat and have photos with our residents. They received Woolpack beer mats to take back to the care home, and lots of happy memories were made today. Thank you so much

User

Great pub, nice to drink in the same pub as Seth

User

Even though the pub was busy the staff were friendly & helpful. The food was excellent quality and cooked fresh using quality ingredients. Steak in ale melted in your mouth and had a light crispy puff pastry top. Well worth the extra drive after visting the Emmerdale studio tour.

User

We could for a little drink to get out of our own pub for a drink, it was nice to see all the old and new photos of the stars of emmerdale the staff seemed lovely and the pub was clean will come again.

User

The landlady was a bit frosty to start with and questioned when I told her the poached salmon was not available on the menu. ( I had actually heard her telling one of the staff ).

So we had a laugh about that. The food was good, and plenty of it, and it was a good pint of black sheep.

User

We stopped off there on Friday evening on the way down to a charity event in Guiseley only to have my pickup which was parked in the pubs carpark broken into. Over a £1000 worth of power tools were taken plus my colleagues bag of clothes for the weekend. A load of fellow tradesmen came in just before we left I’d hate to think they were involved. But I’m left thinking the place was full of thieving scum!! The bag of clothes was later found in Shipley and returned to us the next day. As the only other place we stopped was on the motorway in Cumbria I’m 100% sure it happened at the Woolpack. If you know anything about this crime contact West Yorkshire Police

User

Travelled quite far to visit, food was amazing could not fault it.. Felt like the attitude from staff was a little less fantastic, felt rude on occasion. Definitely put me off returning. A pudding menu for the kids would have been nice too.

User

This place looks great from the outside. Went in with a couple of friends after a spa morning, wanting a couple of drinks and some food, only to leave after being looked over at the only semi busy bar and forgotten about for the menus. Didn’t really feel welcome at all, really disappointed.

User

Can't believe I'm reading about the same pub I occasionally pop into whilst walking the dog. I find the staff unfriendly at best but mostly down right rude.

Went to a party there recently and they actually ran out of gin. That's right! They ran out of the 1 bottle of basic Gordons gin that they had after about 20 minutes. You'd think a pub in that position would have at least 4 different kinds of gin and a couple of different tonics - not too much to ask one would think, but it was - bar lady was very snotty about it.

Party food was nice though.
