About The Ot Support Service
Occupational therapists (OT’s) work alongside their clients increase their independence by working through difficulties that can hinder an individual’s ability to fully carry out and engage in their day to day activities
OT’s address both the physical and mental health of a client, they do this by considering the psycho-social and environmental factors that influence a person’s ability.
An OT will assess both the strengths and limitations of a persons ability. An OT may assess the following areas:
• Physical Skills e. g. your balance and coordination and Motor skills
• Mental and cognitive skills e. g. your problem solving skills and organisational ability
• Your environment and support network - e. g. Home or Work
