Just putting another statement out there as i wanted to clear some of the misinformation that's been going around:
I'm leaving The Owl Sanctuary as of April 1st which means it's currently up for sale. I'm not gonna spout any figures on this status but what you get from us is a complete, ready-to-go, music venue in it's current location. What we ask in return is a refundable deposit and payment for rent.
The crowdfunder that you've probably seen was set up by Sean in his perso...nal bid to raise funds and purchase the business, it was not set up by The Owl Sanctuary or me. He posted it on The Owl page rather than his personal account and that comment has since been deleted so as to not cause any confusion.
Any interest or further questions should be emailed to 7aTimberHill@gmail.com
Cheers, Ben.

This place gets better and better, the Gig room is now Air Conditioned and has a fantastic new sound system !

User

This is not just a pub... The owl is a hub for all in the music and arts world, both up to date and fresh and supporting the local community. A pub with excellent management and a soul. Xxx

User

This is just a few quick sentences! I found this place on Google as I wanted somewhere friendly to go in Norwich before and after the Gary Numan concert. So I came last night and had really great fun. Have come back tonight and it is buzzing, and the bar staff are so friendly it's a pleasure coming here :-)

User

There is no finer place in Norwich to have a drink, watch great music, and forget about your cares. Anti fascist as well!

User

One of the few places that fails to flare up my anxiety problems. Lovely staff, great bands come frequently, a 2nd home to many. I love the place.

User

More than just 'cracking'. Fully, fully excellent all round. Both as a performer and as a medium-to-heavy drinker, I couldn't ask for more!

User

Knowledgeable bar staff. Quality open mic night. Fantastic ethos. Just what life is all about. Wish I could support this fantastic venue more often. So pleased it found a new venue.

User

Ive been to Doom tonight, me and my trusty walker, people as ever gave way with good humour, except one girl who didnt see me and i pushed past her she spun round and looked like she was going to hit me,then saw the walker and laughed, had a really good night talked to the owner sorry forget names at first, blood clot on the brain and all that, whats your excuse lol. Security were great helping me if needed,i have tried since walking again to be independant, i live alone, but i must admit its nice to have a hand, dont let my O T know that tho. Got tickets to 4 more gigs,so your doing well, its so great having a place like the Owl would have loved it back in the day, punk has survived despite the early days finding a place that would let them play, have a drink J20 for me, thats a point have you got more non alcholic drinks in,i dont drink now and a bit fed up with J20, sorry im making requests and being a bit picky, good work, help each other out,i was talking to a girl who was nervous of being out,but she said the nicest thing,if i could do it with my problems it gave her hope, this is turning into a monumental love in sorry but it really means a lot to me. Speak softly Tread lightly stay free. HANX.

User

I'd regularly visit the alcohol dispenser before new onwership. Having recently visited the new venue I can quite honestly say it makes, a fire alarm going off during a hardcore jungle set, to crying in the toilet due to existential confusion, feel entirely a part of your favourite night out.

User

I know of a place not far from here

Where you can get some mighty fine beer

The company's true and the wenches are pretty

It's the greatest damn place in the whole of the city!

User

I haven't been able to check out the new premises due to not living in Norwich/work limits but it's been my favourite Norwich venue since its days as The Marquee & have followed it through all inceptions til now. I'm sure it's not perfect, but to find a venue that's perfect on paper without losing character is tough.

There's another venue in the area that a lot of musicians love but as a fan I hate cause it's too far out of centre and feels too formal for its size. But this isn't a review of that venue.

If you want a venue/rock pub with character, good ethics, central location, and dedication to the scene come here. If you want a venue that's 'practically perfect' but has none of the above, go to the B2. Whoops. Sorry not sorry.

User

Good booze, good staff, good music. Simple pleasures at their finest (its fuckin' bang on point mate).

User

Fantastic venue, friendly staff, good music and drink what more could you want ?

User

Cracking night out. Good selection of music, good beers, good company, and good to see a new generation of goths and punks growing up. Ah, the children of the night, what music they make...

User

Cracking night as always, Gaz Brookfield, Jake Martin and B Sydes were all on top form, looking forward to seeing many more live acts there in the future.Keep up the good work. Best little independent venue for miles.

User

Awesome little gem in Norwich. Some of the best gigs I've seen have been here and red stripe is only £2.50

User

Amazing venue and the new owners have done wonders with the place! Better opening times, more events and an even more welcoming team of bartenders! :)

User

Absolutely an amazing establishment. Reasonable price beverages staff are nice. Always some great Entertainment on offer.

Think you should offer Aviva employees some sort of discount

User

Never been before good night there last night good to catch up with my friends who knew of this place. Some awesome Halloween costumes and place all spooked out! Staff and punters friendly
