The Oxenham Arms Hotel & Restaurant

Went there a few weeks ago for my friend's birthday and will definitely be going back again! The food is absolutely delicious, the service is excellent and the history of the place is just amazing! Looking forward to next time!

Upon entering all in my party were greeted well and with a smile. Drinks we're purchased and then taken to our table for us. Our table was in the room called the snug which is very "interesting "room on its own. But it doesn't stop there check out the rest of the hotel if possible it's got the wow factor. Service was with a smile with nothing too much trouble (& some of my party had some odd changes which were all completly satisfied) as to the food all choices & quality were fantastic and the Polenta is the best I've tasted outside Italia (& I am one) and so is the chef I was told later. On the downside portions were very small, all felt the prices were too high for the sizes of the meals. Overall a very enjoyable place - would I visit again? Maybe but not for a meal.

Lovely unspoilt historical welcoming pub (1477!). Great pint of ale, ham, eggs and chips. Dogs relaxed in front of a roaring fire after a long walk on the Moor and Taw valley.

A very special place in a beautiful village, with kind staff and fabulous breakfasts.
Couldn't get over the fact that Charles Dickens was holed up in our room a few hundred years before!

The owner kindly went out of his way to store our bikes under cover and drew us a map to find the best bike shop for my ailing bicycle.

Proper service, loads of history....you won't get this experience in an air bnb.

Absolutely superb. The food was fabulous, our room was luxurious, the owners and staff very welcoming. We would love to come back.

Stayed here last night with my partner for valentines, an amazing set menu at a great price, the food here is the best I have tried in West Devon to date, a very talented chef indeed! Very welcoming staff, all happy to help with any of your needs - owners too were on the floor and very easy to speak with. A beautiful hotel with a lot of interesting history, talks, walks and lots to do! Definitely worth a visit.

Historical, charmingly-atmospheric hotel. Immaculate rooms with super comfortable beds. Food of a very high standard. Friendly helpful staff. Real ale.
