The Oyster Grill Description
Oysters used to be fodder, eaten only by peasants and the lower edges of society. They helped supplement nutrition during food shortages, and were a low cost way to fill a hungry belly. It’s only in the last 80 or so years that oysters have jumped the social hierarchy to gourmet delicacy - the guys at The Oyster Shack are aiming to bring the oyster back to the people!
They Oyster shack is a partnership between two London based friends who are out to democratise the oyster. They’re everything a swanky oyster bar ain’t. No marble counters, polished bench tops, overdressed waiters and Mayfair prices. Just down to earth, good seaside fare enjoyed in informal settings.
For their latest event Shuck, Grill Chill, it's all about eat n learn - We'll teach you how to shuck these little bivalves, and help you concoct explosive oyster recipes which'll get thrown on the BBQ to sizzle their way to some seriously tasty mouthfuls.
Think crab shacks, hot sauce, girls named Darlene and men called Marv. Stained singlets and army sized appetites. Think fuzzy radios cranking out blues & jazz, and checked table cloths with sawdust floors.
