What a fantastic service I experienced and delicious meal I had tonight! Thank you so much everything was perfect and I can not wait to come back.

I would highly recommend a visit to the Parson and Woodforde

User

We stayed here a couple of weeks back, the room was lovely, everything was spotless, bed was so comfortable. Had an enjoyable evening meal and great full breakfast next morning. Was just the get away for a kite while we needed! Will no doubt be back!

We have been three times since reopening. We have been for lunch/afternoon food and afternoon tea. This is my new favourite place. Just love the food, today 4 starters eaten as tapas. Best pigeon and goats cheese ever. Tempura prawns were big fat and juicy, duck spring rolls very tasty. Service was first class, everyone friendly and helpful. Special mention for the landlady, fabulous, fun, friendly, but professional at the same time. Just love the table games, despite losing dominos. Real woodburners and great settings. Well done all staff, awesome

We attended last night and what a wonderful experience, there was a big party of us celebrating my uncles 50th Birthday, included was 4 young children, staff knew exactly how to keep them happy given it was a late night for them, food was incredible and generally has been the best evening out in a long time, without a doubt we will be returning, Thankyou

User

This is a new find for us, absolutely love this place. We enjoyed it so much we've booked for Christmas day!!! Pub has a nice feeling to it, staff are welcoming and the food is delicious. Beer and wine is good also. A*

User

My partner and I stayed here at the weekend and had a truly wonderful stay. All the staff and the landlady couldn't have been more helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely meal and stay. The food was out of this world and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay and eat here again. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay :-) I would recommend the food and B & B to everyone.

User

Just popped in for lunch and a pint, although it was exceptionally busy we found everything to be excellent; pint and G&T was good and the food was exceptional, would highly recommend this venue. We will return

It was so good to go to The Parson Woodforde again today now that Allyson & Steve are at the helm. Such a lovely pub, recently re-opened and well worth a visit. Lunch was absolutely superb, the liver and bacon was to die for. Having eaten at Drayton Old Lodge on many occasions we were thrilled to hear that this amazing couple had taken over this pub and have given us a reliable meeting place to catch up with friends. I might add we have to travel an hour and a half to get there but so worth it. When the opportunity arises we will certainly take advantage of the lovely accommodation and then can enjoy the full monty - breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner!! A lovely welcome, especially for our lab, Harvey, (allowed in the bar area) who enjoyed the experience as much as we did.

Thanks to Allyson and her staff for such a lovely lunchtime, we will be back! Especially as my favourite Shiraz was remembered and produced on my arrival - how good is that! Wishing you all the very best in your new venture.

I have had to go DF as BF a 16weeks old with CMPA. The chef went out of his way to offer ideas for alternatives. Thr staff were very accomodating of our needs with baby.

You know outstanding service when the waitresses don't even ask who ordered what, they just remember!!!! Lush food to top it off 😊

Had dinner here on Saturday just gone and told them that my husband is vegan, Alison admitted that they haven’t got anything vegan on the menu yet as they’ve not been open long. We went to have dinner as planned and Alison was so welcoming. Alison had a word with the Chef before we arrived about the husband being vegan and they came up with a meal plan especially for him. They were great with my son.

I’m very happy the pub has reopened with BETTER owners, we will definitively be coming back.

*ps, there will be vegan options on their new menu soon

Had another lovely meal and great service again last night. Even though we had not booked, Maisie made us feel welcome and found us somewhere to sit. She is a pleasure to be served by, so warm and welcoming. Food is consistently lovely - hubby is obsessed with Thai curry, whereas I had a fab burger. Thoroughly recommend

User

Friday night and we wanted to go out somewhere different. And we were not disappointed!

We had booked a table and were in the main bar area so great for people watching and conversation. No background music. Hurrah! Great choice of beers.

Our food was excellent. Supreme of chicken, and pan fried hake. We both cleared out plates. For dessert it had to be sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee and again we polished them off. The staff were young and very attentive. Clearly well trained.

Was also good to see thst dogs appear to be welcome, as we are always looking for dog friendly places.

Will we be back? Yes. And we will.be recommending to friends too.

User

A hidden gem, fantastic food and service! Would highly recommend! Been here on more than one occasion and the quality of food, drink and service has been perfect every time! Thank you

User

Had a really lovely lunch today at the newly reopened Parson Woodforde, the new owners are very warm and welcoming. We will most definitely be returning, hopefully the wood burner will be behaving so we can give 5* next time!!

User

Food was lovely. Cooked perfectly. The only issue was they kept getting it wrong. Forgot my son's starter, sister in laws main course, cheese with Bolognese. Got a drinks order wrong. The manager was very apologetic and the staff were friendly. ...... it just became a bit of a running joke at the end. Would eat there again though as the quality was so good.

User

We had our wedding here 3 years ago and everything was perfect, 7 of us returned this evening and have to say it was awful, food was very poor, and for such a small menu not having some of the things on it on a Saturday evening is not acceptable, only 1 choice for vegetarians (aubergine) and the service was very slow but tbf think they were understaffed. 7 meals and not 1 of us enjoyed it, shall not be returning, shame as lovely venue.

If you want to waste 2 hours of your life this is the place to go... Iv now been here twice for lunch. The first time it took over 2 and half to serve 2 courses with young kids which isn't great. In their defence they have just opened so thought maybe just getting their feet.

Went Monday just gone and the service is terrible. Ordered our first drinks took over 20 mins to come. Once we where seated had to go an ask for kids menus as none on the table. The food took a hour to come considering there was only another 2 tables eating. Food was good on a better note. In that hour we was never asked if we would like another drink only when the food came. No one came during when we were eating to see if we want any drinks.

Finished the meals, was offered the dessert menu took another 15mins to take the order and another 30 mins to serve 4 desserts

After finishing I was fed up on waiting asked for the bill and mentioned the slow service.

Well that was a disappointment ☹️ we arrived this morning at 10.40am for breakfast, but the main door was locked? Found our way in by the side entrance which was propped open, so I'm guessing they are open...we were completely ignored by the guy behind the bar? We had to ask him twice before he acknowledged us (rude)...when he did answer he told us the chef was on his own? And very kindly told us the time? Guess we looked like we didn't have a watch? ( the website says breakfast served until 11.30? Hey if it's not, maybe spend a couple of minutes and change it) He sighed said he would ask the chef if we could eat!! After he served the other table first. Of course he didn't ask left us hanging, so we walked out. And the chirpy chappy, could even let us pass we had to squeeze past him..I'm guessing customer service ain't so high on his list! Shame as there was five adults having breakfast guessing the Parson Woodford can turn away £60 plus....we have been here many a time and we have always been impressed with the service. Not today shame we won't be going back.

Having just popped into the Parson Woodforde on my way home from going up the city yesterday, both my husband and I were thirsty and hungry...having eventually getting served after a ten minute wait due to lack of any staff to be seen we asked the young girl for a menu, she handed it to us then walked off without saying a word !

Had a look through menu both husband and myself settled on a light refreshment, took a while yet again to catch a member of staff to place order only to be told that the kitchen was shut (was just gone 3pm on a Saturday afternoon!) No offer of making us a sandwiche or even a bowl of chips the man just walked away with no apology. Nothing!!!! Duly finished our drink and left, shan’t be going back again for a while if at all, seems that customer service doesn’t exist.....would it have killed them to offer to make a sarnie? We would have had another drink then which would have made their till ring rather than us leaving....Use to always go to this pub back in the day doubt I’ll bother going out of my way again...
